Pandora’s Box: Gifts of Midsummer Crop Circles

July 9, 2010

According to Myth, the gods gave Pandora a jar (Greek, pithos), said to contain all gifts, which she was forbidden to open. When she couldn’t resist temptation, she unleashed the jar’s unexpected contents on the World. In modern tradition, the Pithos is translated as Pandora’s ‘Box’.

...you can't open Pandora's Box just a little bit...

In Greek mythology, transmitted through current received wisdom, Pandora was the first woman on earth, the Greek equivalent of biblical Eve. In the Judao-Christian version, she was fashioned by the Almighty, extracted from the rib of a Man: Adam. Similarly, in the Greek (Hesiod’s) version the gods made her, albeit autonomous, created from clay – a mixture of Earth and Water – with the help of Fire. It is thought the original (pre-Hellenic) version was a primitive survival from the world’s most ancient traditions where she symbolizes the Archaic Mother, provider of all Gifts that make culture and civilization possible. She was the Great Goddess – Sanskrit Mahadevi – the sum of all goddesses. In this context her Pithos, jar, is the primeval cradle or womb. She survives in Britain through Wiccan tradition formerly known as the original pre-Christian Triple Goddess, Brighid, Bride, Celtic Bhrìghde or Roman Brigantia.

It is synchronous at the height of summer, therefore, that several new crop circles should appear – in wildly different locations (not all in the ‘expected’ environs of Wiltshire) – which ask us to reexamine and appreciate our ancestral landscapes, remember our most ancient beliefs.

Diamond-faceted, layered wheat in communion with an ancient chapel at Chisbury

Almost all of the recent crop formations in England have manifested next to prehistoric sacred sites. A beautiful three-dimensional pentagram surrounded by ten crystalline diamonds appeared next to the 13thC Chapel of St Martin at Chisbury, Wiltshire on July 3rd within the enclave of prehistoric Chisbury Camp. Its layered and carefully-folded wheat accentuates this jewel of optical illusion, its crystalline facets, giving an impression of height, width and depth in what is essentially a two-dimensional design.

Olivier Morel's wonderful image of visitors to the Chisbury formation

According to eye-witnesses, the atmosphere within the formation is ‘spiritually uplifting,’ ‘awesome’, ‘transporting’, ‘phenomenal’. Builders of the tiny neighbouring 13thCentury chapel – in use now as a farm store – will have felt the same spiritual quality in the meadow viewed from its unadorned windows.

Savernake Merkabah star tetrahedron on the edge of an ancient Royal hunting forest

Sacred mounds and ancient fortified enclosures of ancestral importance have featured in nearly all the latest crop circle appearances. The ‘Merkabah’ tetrahedron of June 23rd at Savernake Forest near Marlborough, Wiltshire is the exception.

It is, by contrast, a testament not only to the past but the future.

Its situation on the edge of Savernake Forest is significant. Savernake Forest is one of the few remaining ancient stands of Royal Hunting Forest beloved of Norman kings. Now in private hands, no longer part of Crown Lands, here ancient trees have their roots deep in primeval soil, planted, nurtured and preserved within the Forest bounds for over a millennium. Among the Forest’s occupants is the Big Belly Oak, over 1000-years old, where, before Reformation zeal suppressed such activity, one may have been encouraged to ‘summon the Devil’ by dancing naked around its trunk. In another part of the Forest Henry VIII first met Lady Jane Seymour, daughter of the Forest’s Tudor steward, Sir John Seymour.

The Savernake formation itself shows a classic star tetrahedron of interlocking triangles reminiscent of the Merkabah, or ‘Chariot of the Gods’, the vehicle used by Ascended Masters and those advanced in the discipline of meditation and self-mastery to ascend to the next vibrational level of consciousness. The Merkabah is itself a symbol of the Ascension process, which humankind is presently beginning to experience. This ‘chariot’ or device used by the gods is a metaphor for one’s ability to activate within the human mind and energy body a synthesis of mind-body-spirit which transports the soul to higher vibrational states and ‘another’ dimension. It is inkeeping with crop circle design – particularly those of 2010 – that this formation has multiple interpretations: it can also be seen as a solstitial coronal mass ejection (CME) which that day (June 23rd) was already two days into its journey towards earth, having left the solar magnetosphere on solstice, and which hit the telephone and electrical systems of Earth’s northern hemisphere on the same day as the lunar eclipse, June 26th.

White Sheet Hill, a Neolithic sacred stronghold with its crop circle companion below

That weekend (June 26-27) this blogger’s computer, at the very least, suffered hiccups, white-out, black-out and broadband death; realignment with earthly systems was needed, new passwords created and, a little shakily, the process of blogging was allowed to continue. At least we croppies were given three days’ warning! CMEs don’t always leave room for domestic schedules.

June 25th White Sheet Hill crop 'snowflake': circles within crystalline circles

A crop circle at White Sheet Hill, Mere, Wiltshire depicting a dazzling ‘snowflake of light’ appeared June 25th within the sacred precinct of a Neolithic compound and below the Iron Age fortified enclosure of this ancient hilltop. The location is within shouting distance of Warminster, the hub of UFO activity in Britain which was suppressed in the 1960s and 1970s. The Brits have been as close-fisted as the US military-industrial complex on the subject of unidentified flying objects.

U.S. Ex-Military proponent of an ET presence, Robert Dean is convinced that full disclosure of the US Government’s files on UFOs, their research and documentation of ‘unexplained’ phenomena, is not only imminent, but necessary. Unfortunately he says, they’ve held back so long because once you open Pandora’ Box, ‘all hell breaks loose. They know you can’t just open Pandora’s Box a little bit…’

All-seeing Eye crop circle appeared June 28th at Ufton, Warwickshire

So when they disclose their awareness of the presence of technology far beyond the grasp of present humankind, there will be a massive seachange in human perspective. ‘I don’t think we know how much that will affect society. It is huge.’

It may be relevant that the last British crop circle of June was that of an all-seeing eye at Ufton in Warwickshire on the 28th. It might also be seen as a lens from the past into the future perhaps. Or even a telescopic zoom from the future looking at us in the present moment of now. Time, as we know, is an illusion anyway…

Crop circles in the Euro bloc
Several crop circles have appeared in the fields of Europe since mid-June, notably in Italy and in Hessen, and Rheinland-Pfalz.

Berlepsch-Ellerode, Hessen crop circle June 27th

As if trying to catch up with the Continent, there was a rash of appearances in England over the July 4th weekend.

As of 07/07/10 the count is:

33 formations in Italy
21 designs in England
7 Kornkreise in Deutschland, 2 in Belgium and
1 each in Russia, Croatia, Poland, Holland and (in the southern hemisphere) in Argentina and New Zealand.

Unusually, a huge new formation appeared over July 4th weekend, one of two in the fields of the North: this one at Sutton Bank is in North Yorkshire, below Roulston Scar in the Hambleton Hills, in an area known as Happy Valley, near Thirsk. The other – a simple circular design – materialized at Castle Hill near West Yorkshire’s Huddersfield.

The Sutton Bank design displays intertwining yin-yang symbols in a linear group and its position in the Valley, like so many of this year’s new crop circles, seems to have been chosen for its proximity to a sacred Iron Age hill enclosure (‘hillfort’).

The area is rife with legend.

The Devil’s Footprint and the White Mare of Gormire

Happy Valley crop formation appeared at the time of 'Old Style midsummer' when villagers used to hold their July festival in the fields below Roulston Scar

It is said when pagan Druids who held their sacred seasonal ceremonies in Happy Valley were first confronted (AD6thC) by Christian monastics, they had to decide whose faith was superior. As the tradition is told from a Christian perspective, the ‘Devil’ was beaten by the peripatetic monk and had to flee.

Sutton Bank formation below Roulston Scar, N.Yorkshire

It is said he took off ‘on brazen wings’ from Roulston Scar, inadvertently taking with him part of the underlying rock which stuck to his fiery foot. On landing across the Valley on top of Hood Hill, he shed the rock which showed a hole where his hellish fire had melted it in the shape of his foot. A 20-ton erratic boulder on Hood Hill to this day shows the imprint of a foot and is identical to rocks across the valley on Roulston Scar.

The new formation lies in wheat on Sutton Bank farm in the valley between the two. It appeared on the anniversary of the valley’s Olde Midsummer Festival which used to be held during the week of July 6th – ‘Old-Style’ equivalent of solstice night, transposed from the previous Julian calendar when in 1752 country people in Britain rebelled at being deprived of 11 days of their precious time.

‘When Gormire riggs shall be covered with hay,
The white mare of Whitestone Cliff will bear it away’

This local saying has a medieval origin and refers to supposedly apocalyptic extremes of weather, particularly at the height of summer, when Gormire – a permanent and supposedly bottomless pond in Happy Valley – will dry up and hay will be harvested on it. Another medieval legend retold is of a mythical White Mare said to have sprung off Roulston Scar carrying a young maiden whose body was never found. It is interesting to note that the crop formation here is located below a 19thCentury white horse carved into Whitestone Cliff on Roulston Scar.

Solstitial appearance: June 21st crop circle: coded symbolism for Phi spiral, the 'Golden Mean' or Fibonacci sequence at Pewsey

The Phi-coded formation of June 21st at Pewsey which appeared following a massive participatory ‘consciousness experiment’ mentioned in my solstice blog on Wiltshire circles, lies within a stone’s throw of the Pewsey White Horses – hillside carvings based in ancient mythical horse tradition.

Uffington White Horse, Wiltshire: oldest of the sacred ancestral totems: Neolithic stallion etched in the land

If there is a theme to the 2010 crop circles so far, it is connected to our most ancient knowledge, our culture’s most formative period: those centuries before modern machination started to sweep us under the carpet of Time. Our ancestors took time out from busy lives to build stone bulwarks, draw sacred animals in the landscape, create sacred enclosures and fortify mounds with bank-and-ditch in places where the Earth’s energy nodes meet. Here at these crossing points crop circles are picking up the baton and carrying ancestral wisdom one step farther – begging us to follow. These designs would appear to be guiding us to look within, but also outward, upward to the heavens, and through the eyes of our own past, through ancient traditions, archetypal knowledge and especially via our intuitive ‘knowing’, which may be in danger of being forgotten. In that peaceful space between breaths there is a world of another dimension which we are within a hairsbreadth of reaching – if we shall only take the plunge.

The legend of Pandora reminds us what we have in store.

Dante Gabriel Rossetti's 1869 chalk 'Study for Pandora' perpetuated the Box symbol

The most common mythological tale is the one handed down from the (male-dominant) Hellenist culture: Zeus ordered Hephaestos the Smith, god of craftsmanship, to create her and he fashioned her body from clay, using water and earth. The other gods each added a quality, endowing her with many talents; Athene, goddess of wisdom, breathed life into her; Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo music; Hermes taught her the art of persuasion, and to charm and deceive: hence her name: Pandora, “all-gifted”.

The Legend of Pandora
When Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus’s brother. Pandora brought with her a jar which she was not to open under any circumstance. Impelled by her natural curiosity, Pandora opened the jar, and all evil contained escaped and spread over the earth. She hastened to close the lid, but the contents of the jar had spilled out, except for one quality which lay at the bottom – and that was Hope.

In the 16th Century, Erasmus of Rotterdam mistranslated Greek pithos (jar) for Latin pyxis (box) and the Edwardian pre-Raphaelites – and romantics ever since – have perpetuated the tradition.

The latest crop circle of July 6th at Danebury Camp, Nether Wallop, Hampshire, illustrated top, might be seen as Pandora’s Box. We are presented on this planet Earth – our only Home – with the greatest gifts Creation can offer in one blue bundle, to be used wisely or scattered to the winds.

What will we do with these magnificent gifts? squander them like Pandora or, as the crop circles so gently nudge and remind us, shall we use these irreplaceable qualities wisely?

Shall we take that starship – our own systemic Merkabah – and ascend? It’s up to us now.

Ouroboros eternal returning serpent of life swallowing its own tail: crop circle Walbury Hill, Berkshire June 12, 2010

Crop circles this season have not been bountiful. More designs have appeared so far in Italy than in Wiltshire and southern England. But the messages transmitted by the few have been powerful indeed: archetypal images, ancient knowledge refashioned, the human race is being encouraged to take note, achieve self-mastery, to grab hold of the solar wind and fly.

My last blog went online overnight June 12/13th, just as the Berkshire crop circle was being discovered at Walbury Hill – an ancient site, but not a common place for crop circles. I had been gearing myself up to write for a couple of days beforehand, but there were a number of incidents in my life which made it impossible – I had guests from Tuesday of that week until they departed on the morning of the New Moon, June 12th. The night before they left, they asked me to do an I Ching reading for them: something I haven’t done in thirty years. Composing oneself for psychic interpretation of the age-old wisdom of the Orient, the symbolism of the Yin-Yang, was a new feeling for us both. Their combined chosen hexagram turned out to be Hexagram 20: Contemplation.

…the kings of old visited the regions of the world, contemplated the people, and gave them instruction…

Apart from that extremely apt symbolism as it relates to crop circles visiting Earth, a secondary meaning is:

‘You will gain understanding of what the future holds for you by contemplating the effect of your life on others. If your influence and example are good, you are without blame. This is its own reward.’

When my friends were safely on their flight the next morning, I lost no time in putting my blog-thoughts on computer, working right through until midnight. Then I tweaked and uploaded at 2a.m. the following morning.

Supreme Lord Siva, gold-adorned sculpture on Delhi's Gurgaon Highway

As fate would have it, my American guest blogger, Mehal Darji-Rockefeller, who is steeped in Vedic astrology, religious symbolism, kundalini, working with chakras and eastern consciousness-raising techniques, was online and responded immediately from the heart. He didn’t have time to ‘think’. His response (below) was beautifully right-hemisphere. Seen in retrospect he was voicing the spirit of the crop circle which had materialized during the night at Walbury Hill. His reference to Vedic symbolism, kundalini power, ancient archetypes and our human shift in consciousness is of great significance. He wrote:

‘Tonight, the 13th moon phase or new moon, is a hallmark event. In the Vedic tradition it is known as Pradosham and means “removal of stains from the law of cause and effect.” Archetypal Being Siva designated a few different Pradosham windows (times when it is easier to dissolve old patterns).

‘The 13th Moon Phase (in both the waning and waxing cycle of the Moon) is one of the Pradosham windows chosen by Siva for removing karma. This is a very ancient concept – not that of all this new age business. The body turning into light is a reality for the earth plane. Flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom.

‘As William Blake said in Auguries of Innocence,

“We are led to believe a lie
When we see not thro’ the eye,
Which was born in a night to perish in a night,
When the soul slept in beams of light.”

‘Comets and their symbol of death, evil destruction are a primordial message that I welcome. For that is how Rome was born, right? With that in mind, humanity is in a key transcendence of consciousness. This was brought about via a synergistic effect of Uranus in powerful Aries and when Saturn went direct in Virgo last week.

‘Saturn is the task master. Virgo gives us the ability to pay attention to detail. This transit is time for humanity to stop procrastinating! The time for action is NOW.

Saturn also receives the aspect of Jupiter at this time which has the scope to accelerate new opportunities on a global scale. This comes with a word of caution, however, to financial and banking employees regarding stability. With the fluctuations in the global market, expansion in any industry is not guaranteed.

‘There is also the spice of Muruga that adds divine energy and power to the mixture. This year Muruga‘s birthday coincided with the strong, astrologically-significant transit of the planet Mars into Leo – May 27th.’ [My note: this was also full moon and beginning of the 29-day moon cycle which will end with full moon/partial lunar eclipse on June 26th; more below]. ‘This opens the gates for the energy of the Regal Warrior to enter. Gone is the time of hold-ups and frustrations. Lord Muruga‘s birth is celebrated in the Vedic month of Vaikasi (May-June) when the Full Moon coincides with the Vishakha star.

‘The day celebrates the incarnation of Muruga who assumed the form of a Regal Warrior to triumph over the evil forces of the Demon King Surapadman. It is symbolic of the conquest of the refined intellect over the egoistic mind.

Muruga‘s energy is the culmination of wisdom, desire, and action. He is the archetype or deity in charge of Knowledge, Youthfulness, and Valor. This is the day on which Mars, the planet ruled by Muruga, enters into Leo, its friendly sign. As Mars moves from Cancer to Leo, it sheds eight months of passive behavior and dons its usual fiery garb. This is the ideal time for go-getters to unleash the full potential of Mars. The energies are especially supportive for dynamic action to achieve lofty goals.

‘Mars’s big march into Leo lasts up to July 20.

Muruga was the Supreme Commander of the forces of Devas (gods), and led them to victory over the demons. He fought his enemies using his weapon – the Vel or Lance. In esoteric tradition, the Vel represents the rising Kundalini fire which consumes karmic impurities. Muruga is considered Lord of Kundalini who enables the ascent of one’s sexual energy from the base of the spine (center of gross qualities) to the pituitary gland (center of divine wisdom).

‘This now activates the collective consciousness of humanity’s kundalini energy.

‘The heart and throat chakra are activated — which were under-active. Now, with the power of forgiveness, humanity can break the bondage of karma and the cycle of duality. This correlates with the Uranus-into-Aries shift.

‘We must all put our attention on our intention of ascending the soul of Mother Earth. Forgiveness offers that. Otherwise we will stagnate in the realm of darkness.’

His words were transmitted as first footage was being filmed at Walbury Hill.

John Scott's interpretations of the Walbury formation in Berkshire

Over the following few days there came a rash of commentary on the Walbury crop formation, much of which is logged on the ‘Forum’ of the excellent CropCircleConnector site run by Mark Fussell and Stuart Dike. It ranged from simple snake-like graphics of the Lower Mississippi basin encompassing the oil fiasco in the Gulf of Mexico to extra-planetary channelings from starbeings. Two important interpretations, however, came from John Scott and Luke Peacock, both of whom focus on astronomical cycles (Scott lunar, Peacock solar) and both see the symbolic ‘broken lines’ in the formation as evidence for reading an I Ching interpretation, specifically Hexagram 20! Luke says:

Overall Hexagram 20 refers to having the perspective of a tall tower or a high mountain that sees all below, and has a better vantage point of above also. It serves as direction for people to aspire to, where the view is wide and expansive.

Within the centremost circle of the design the barley crop has been laid in folds, one curving clockwise, the other counterclockwise: the resulting pattern is the eternal Yin-Yang symbol. A little déjà vu for me, considering my guests’ chosen hexagram last weekend. The serpent, coincidentally, embodies the above concept of Muruga activating the collective consciousness of human kundalini.

Walbury Hill serpent's head faces midsummer sunrise precisely

Luke Peacock is fascinated by the position of Walbury Hill, with its Walbury Camp Iron Age hillfort enclosure 947 feet above sea level, the highest point in SE England. It was chosen in prehistoric times to view sacred sunrise and sunset with ritual held at annual equinoxes and both solstices. The crop circle reflects this precision, aligning the serpent head directly to view the point on the horizon where the sun will rise tomorrow morning, June 21st.

John Scott is a little more direct. He is sure this year’s crop designs speak directly to the human psyche: like Mehal, he believes that after ‘death’ of worldly trappings and ego, a ‘vast sociological shift in consciousness is about to take place.’ He sees the Ouroboros, Great World Serpent circling the Earth, as one of the most powerful archetypal and alchemical symbols which could have been chosen to touch and purify the human soul on its path to enlightenment: ‘. . .possibly the most powerful symbols known in occult literature. It seems the CC-makers have shifted to another level of content. Anyone who has had a personal enlightening experience knows this can often mean not just death on the emotional or mental plane, but complete annihilation of ego; a complete 180º turnaround in thinking and living.’ He is not optimistic for huge numbers of those not ‘getting the message’:

‘I feel with crop circles this year that the important nature of archetypal symbolism may not be fully understood by a wide swathe of the community. The (death and the Ouroboros) symbols are immense in terms of a global, sociological (change). People’s personal problems will be swept aside. These two symbols are completely unforgiving in energetic content; it would be akin to a paper aeroplane in a tornado; the tornado dictates the journey.’

He is convinced the overlighting intelligence creating the crop designs has a ‘deep metaphysical knowledge of our collective energetic bodies which in itself is the real mystery.’ He feels a sense of honesty and openness in their communication as an ‘urgent message to humanity.’ And no amount of reading spiritual literature or self-improvement manuals will prepare us for the actual leap we are about to take.

Chirton Bottom, Devizes, Wiltshire 'analemma' appeared June 16th

As if that weren’t powerful enough, another crop formation appeared on June 16th at Chirton Bottom, near Devizes, Wiltshire. It has been interpreted by Red Collie, an American DNA specialist with a PhD from CalTech currently living in Australia. He sees the linked figure-of-eight as an ‘analemma‘, or the apparent elliptical motion of a heavenly body in the sky as seen from the earth. An analemma of the sun is caused because
1.The Earth is tilted on its axis 23.5° in relation to the plane of its orbit around the sun.
2. The Earth does not orbit the sun in a circle, but in an ellipse. Analemma is ancient Greek for the pedestal of a sundial.

Dr Red’s conclusion about Chirton is that it is an analemma of the 29-day lunar cycle.

He explains:

Analemma explained

Analemma, elliptical apparent motion of a heavenly body

‘Its major shape is a figure-eight or lunar analemma that proceeds for 29 days or one complete lunar phase cycle as “Sun (big) – Moon (small) – Sun (big) – Moon (small) – Sun (big) – Moon (small)”, going day or night for 29 days. It shows dates of May 27, 2010 to June 26, 2010 (both full Moons).
There will be a 50% partial lunar eclipse on June 26, 2010, so that is why its “small Moon” symbol for “day 29” or June 26, 2010 has been drawn at half the size expected.’

Neither of these latest crop circles looks ahead beyond June. The total solar eclipse of July 11th will no doubt come up again as a reminder later this season.

EXPERIMENT IN CROP CIRCLE-CREATION
In the meantime a group of crop circle enthusiasts who all share Facebook identities have decided to hold an experiment in consciousness (and crop circle creation) this solstice weekend. You can join in if you like.

The suggestion is made that at a precise predetermined time (tonight, Sunday June 20th at 22:30 BST/21:30 UTC – that’s 5:30pm Eastern Daylight Time, 2:30pm Pacific Daylight Time) a specific design drawn by Andreas Müller in Germany will be released on the Facebook page of ‘Report a Crop Circle Formation’ and it is then up to each one of us to meditate, focus on, picture in our minds, whatever method comes most easily for the design to imprint on our consciousness and for – hopefully – this specific design to appear within the following four+plus hours in the fields of Wiltshire. A group meditation has also been suggested starting 22:30 UTC (one hour later than photo release). A specific location will also be released, so that those who are familiar with the environs may visualize that, too, but for those meditating in distant locations worldwide who may not know the English countryside, this aspect of the experiment is secondary. The main focus is to discover whether our group consciousness can create overnight a design in the fields.

Result(s) (if any) will be released on the same ‘Report a Crop Circle Formation’ page on Facebook the next day or as soon as discovered. There will be trusted followers in the chosen location ready to witness any appearance through the solstitial night of June 20-June 21. If you want to participate and the link provided doesn’t work (Facebook requires one to log in first), please enter Facebook and then ‘search’ the ‘Report A Crop Circle Formation’ page.

The design is until this moment only known to one person in the world – Andreas – so that no ‘leaks’ will jeopardize the experiment.

Think of it this way: if John Scott is pessimistic about human beings’ ability to raise consciousness as a group mind, we might prove that we are indeed capable of more than we know. Our Supermind may indeed succeed in tapping into the Universal Overmind as we return to Source and simultaneously project our intentions as Kornkreise pixels.

Until tomorrow morning, then. Let’s see if we can do this together.

Winter Kornkreis Consciousness

February 28, 2010

Head of the Dragonfly crop circle Yatesbury June 3, 2009

KORNKREISE: such an evocative word. The Germanic-rooted among us immediately know and the vision appears in the mind. It shouldn’t be difficult, especially for those of us of Anglo-Saxon lineage, to work it out. Crop Circle is a poor translation.

I’ve always had a secret longing to use German as my first language. In this life it was not to be. But I’ve made a pretty good stab at it for a foreigner. The fact that the Saxons conquered England at some point and inserted all those combination words into the language helps considerably. But English – and consequently Americana – still have no basic concept of how to combine words. Councilspeak doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

That’s not what this blog’s about, though. But, you have to agree: it does make a great title!

We study, or – if we’re lucky – visit crop circles in the summertime. It’s when they appear in the fields all over the world, but mostly in the Plains and Downs of southwestern England sheltered by the Cotswolds, and hemmed in by magnetic energy barriers: they are a summer phenomenon brought on by the rising electromagnetic energy field previously the sole dominion of stone circles. Winter is a time when crop circle enthusiasts study their library of last season’s images and wish it were summer – if only to see the next miracle of manifestation.

It’s not a coincidence that crop circles and stone circles appear together in the same landscape. They are drawn by the same force. It is that electromagnetic energy, that same waveband of earth magnetism which first ‘stonies’ and now ‘croppies’ have sensed long before Alfred Watkins published his ‘Old Straight Track‘ in 1925. With the current mood and a worldwide following, it seems fitting that stone circles should bow out gracefully for a time and give the stage to their ephemeral 21st Century lookalikes. After all, they’ve had it all to themselves for over 5000 years.

Avebury Great Stone Circle, Wiltshire 4500BC

Highly-charged electromagnetic landscapes, like Wiltshire, parts of Hampshire and Oxfordshire (and others in Italy, Ohio, Holland, France and Scotland) seem to have the uncanny ability to attract creations of revolutionary design. It happened at Avebury in 4000BC, at Stonehenge and Rollright a little more recently (2500BC). The new age of design is following in giant footsteps; it succeeds in bringing in the same dowsers and energy workers, the same scientific minds to witness and measure and take notes; the only difference is these more recent patterns give little time for study: the imprints are fleeting. It all has to be done in a season.

Or does it? That’s the beauty of capturing an image. And, of course, the electronic world we are now immersed in is miraculous for doing just that. We can access images at any time of year on a computer. Just like the human mind: we can summon anything we choose at ANY time.

There is a connection.

According to the author of one of Britain’s most respected crop circle sites:

Crop circles show existence of ultrasound, and such frequencies are known to exist at ancient sites such as stone circles and menhirs. Like all ancient sacred sites, crop circles appear at the intersecting points of the Earth’s magnetic pathways of energy; thus the size and shape of a crop circle is typically determined by the area of these ‘node’ points at the time of their appearance. This electric and magnetic energy can interact with brainwave patterns, and because the human body is itself electro-magnetic, crop circles are known to affect people’s biophysical rhythms. Consequently, it is not unusual for people to experience heightened states of awareness and healings in crop circles – a situation also common to sacred sites and holy spaces.

The University of California at Santa Cruz has a graduate course entitled the History of Consciousness. it’s always fully enrolled. The professors who lead the program would be the first to agree the Human Mind is evolving at such a rate we are leaving ourselves behind! At such a speed that it is immeasurable even by modern instruments. We’ve progressed beyond the capabilities of our own machines: the miracle instruments we geniuses devised to copy our own mental functions are obsolete as soon as they reach the market shelves. We are similar. The human mind that devised them is racing ahead. By the time I reach the end of this paragraph, the beginning of it is already in the past; has already served its purpose, is as obsolete as yesterday.

The mind moves on. Human spirit moves on. We are entering completely new territory as a species. And methinks the crop circle phenomenon reflects our progression.

The internet is full of incidents of Kornkreis enthusiasts in discussion in the pub after an amazing day in the corn, wondering why such-and-such a design has not yet appeared. And lo and behold, the next day that consciousness (or its higher-self equivalent) produces the design.

One of my Celestine buddies – when that internet discussion group was in full flow – remembered meditating on a summer California beach with a few friends who in their group mind ‘intended’ snow to fall – and produced a few flakes. Neale Donald Walsch quotes thousands of examples of the human capacity to create its own reality.

Twenty – even ten – years ago, crop circles were something mainstream society considered derisory, dismissed readily, assumed were fake, a plot, a simple exercise in geometry, created by amateurs with string, a fulcrum post and a tennis court roller. Not any more. If Google were to do a census – a polldaddy of internet users – I bet crop circle searches would come out in the top ten. Judging by the repeat hits I get on this site alone, [I am hugely grateful; thank you for reading], the subject is at the forefront of human consciousness.

And as consciousness creates reality, as the surge in crop circle interest quickens, so do the designs become more graphic, more complex, more filled with elusive code. The code alone intrigues. Human minds set to all winter to try to solve, to decipher and announce its meaning proudly before the onset of next season’s cryptic messages.

So what is going on? if we are doing this to ourselves – to remind ourselves of our gifts, our stellar heritage, our future, our destiny, why is it taking us so long to realize that we – the human Group Mind – are light beings ourselves? Are we so unaware as earthbound bodies that we have to gift ourselves this infinite pleasure first, of seeing beauty in a field of grain? Knowing somewhere subliminally in a deep recess that the light orbs that create them are somehow a part of us – photons within the light…

Maybe it’s because the human mind has always been a tease. It likes to pose conundrums, so it can solve them. To throw out rhetorical questions, so the unaware will take a leap in faith upwards and join the throng.

We have had many reminders of this period of the ‘End Times’ through the Ages. Civilization has not been remiss in giving us pointers along the way. Our journey has been decked with beauty from Egyptian hieroglyphs through early hieratic/cursive, Turkish script through Greek and Roman letters and numerals, Arabic constellation names through Jewish biblical symbols: Ethiopian astrology through Oriental tigers, monkeys and rats.

Numerology consistently points to symbolism, sacred geometry to mystic significance: from the Great Cycle of the Maya to the charmed ‘golden’ sequence of numbers taken from the Arabic-Hindu numeral system and presented to the world in his Book of the Abacus (Liber Abaci) in 1202 by Leonardo Fibonacci.

We are blessed with a multitude of pointers. We should all have been listening, reading, paying much more attention long before now… before the cataclysm and world upheaval – the last resort of the Cosmos, last device dreamed up by our enquiring consciousness to make us stop our journey to nowhere, take a deep breath, a long hard look and return to balance within.

I wrote earlier in the month about freak weather and its consequences. I touched on earth changes, but only touched, because the subject is fraught with pain for those who suffer through it, doom-and-gloom scenarios beloved of news media which encourages mass hysteria, and negative fear-based what-ifs.

We need only stretch our wings a little to learn how to fly

We need only stand back for a moment and admire what we as a race have achieved in one brief century – that’s the timespan since Man’s first heavier-than-air flight – or judge ourselves for what we’ve been doing to our home planet in the same period – to see that we are in need of a jolt to remember WHO WE ARE.

We are infinitely powerful beings of spiritual design given a human body which miraculously works beyond the dreams of Medicine, with a mind capable of tapping into the Great Mind – when and if we wish. Everything is laid before us; a beautiful home which presents us with four seasons of changing moods to give us infinite variety as well as bounty in food, inspiration and opportunity.

And, while we may no longer have access to the Great Library of Alexandria, we have the internet.

Through tools of electronic fashioning which we ourselves brought about, we can access anything and everything, be apprised of breakthroughs in science, touch base with friends a hemisphere away, create miracles on our own doorstep.

So, if the Great Mind helped us embellish our world with tools of every description at our disposal, is it not logical that the Overmind would also give us helpful reminders of our own destiny?: that we as a species, born of the stars, are capable of returning to the stars?

500ft Swallow with coded tail, Alton Priors June 27, 2009

I liken us to my chickens. Domestic fowl this winter have had it foul. They’ve been joined by pheasants, an occasional partridge and hoards of wild birds: thrushes, robins, tits, wrens and finches. At an unfamiliar sound or a sudden move, the startled pheasant will take off, winging its curiously heavy body through the air, until it lands exhausted a short distance away. The hen watches it rise in flight and wishes she could. She has the same heavy body, but her jungle foul genes have been bred out and egg-laying bred in. She can fly, but she’s not good at it.

We, the human race are also capable of flight. Yes, we have some excellent captains who pilot 777s and dream of flying 797s. But our brain circuitry is capable of flight beyond those dreams. We already have telepathy, meditation techniques which connect us to our Overself, our Higher Being.

There are channelers and psychics who can work from a distance to send and receive healing and messages to and from other spaces. It is only a brief leap in consciousness to use that means of communication, of ‘other’ connectedness to move ourselves through the vast reaches of space. We are in the beginning stages but we need to WANT to learn how. Our spirit is teaching us. We have only to open our hearts to learn.

Judaeo-Christian quotations can be so apt.

For those who believe (in Spirit) will find their strength renewed. They shall soar on wings like Eagles

Wings crop circle June 13, 2009 Tawsmead Copse, Wiltshire

It may be significant that a predominant theme in the 2009 crop circle season was that of winged creatures: the phoenix, the dragonfly, the hummingbird and a plethora of designs depicting wings. And every one of them appeared within a month of the solstice: at the time of earth’s highest magnetic resonance with her solar partner. When the Stonehenge Heel stone becomes the epitome of sundial pointers; when the sun on Avebury’s ‘Sanctuary’ casts the least shadow.

Gerald Hawkins, who died in May 2003, spent a lifetime of study, firstly at the Harvard-Smithsonian Observatories in Cambridge, Mass where he devised his ‘computer’ theory for Stonehenge, Karnak and Kilmartin, Argyll; and later as Professor of physics and astronomy at Boston University, where he fed his theories into one of the world’s first computers, an IBM 704. He was primarily a physicist and astronomer, however, and in later life was drawn to the Euclidean precision and beauty of crop circles, linking their symmetry and design to intervals on the music scale. He was about to publish his 121st paper – this time on sacred geometry in crop circles – when he died.

His 61st scientific paper, the one published in Nature in 1963 which led to his Stonehenge Decoded (Doubleday 1965) and Beyond Stonehenge (Harper & Row 1973) books, changed forever the way we look at Stonehenge and inspired the science of archaeoastronomy. His theory was that the massive trilithons and bluestones of the great iconic Salisbury Plain stone circle formed a neolithic computer-observatory for predicting eclipses of the sun and moon. His later work in crop circles gave him great satisfaction, not only for their symmetry and exquisite use of sacred geometry, but for their astronomical design, their solar and lunar predictions/inferences and for their worm’s eye view of the heavens. He would be the first to applaud those Kornkreis believers who are convinced the formations are leading us into new avenues of being, new ways of seeing.

It’s up to us now. Before the new season starts, are we going to own up to it? Are we not part of the great Whole, this Group Consciousness which is leading us back to Source, to the Universal Mind which oversees and shelters and protects us from making too many awful errors…? Will we stretch out a timid hand and allow Spirit – and Kornkreis Consciousness – to help us up on to the next dimensional rung of the Cosmic ladder?

Will we be able to fly?

I should like to thank Steve Alexander for use of his YouTube video with footage he took from Milk Hill in 1990 to ‘capture’ a light orb.
