MONTHLY CAMPFIRE CHAT CORNER FOR INSECURE WRITERS, FELLOW BLOG GODS & GODDESSES

Emerging from what feels like a deep dark cloud of a year—2020—into the light of a new one which has potential to wake us all up and catapult us right out of bed, it is tempting to blanket all of the bad with the old, and look to the new year to solve all our problems.

But it’s a little more complicated than that.

If I’m honest, solitary confinement aka lockdown aka quarantine aka Tier 4 [for Brits], has had a remarkable effect on my writing regimen. Many blog authors and fiction wannabes will agree, we need a writing routine to help get ourselves organized, or we’d never produce a single word—bless our Muses, may it never happen.

Angelic Potpourri of Offerings from the Stars & Social Media as Humanity Wakes up to Responsibility

Creative people have found time in isolation rewarding in unexpected ways: more self-time allows honest re-assessment of our capacity for change, our output—both volume and quality—and enjoyment of what we do. With no distractions to interrupt our daily entry to the Writer’s Cave—painting boudoir, or garden plot [unless it becomes a criminal act to do so]—new books get written, music composed and broadcast, gardens and parks flourish. Nature likes to show off her growth.

Having nobody else to talk to, or hug daily—some elderly have had no phone connection or physical touch for months—has an effect of allowing us to spiral inward to where our Muse usually sits at her own computah waiting for us to ask! That isolation opens inner doors to our mind—and its myriad compartments—usually unheard in the (former) hurly burly of day-to-day existence—what we used to call the Nine-to-Five.

The new Nine-to-Five might be called more appropriately the Dawn-to-Dusk, or Sleep-no-More. Reaction to having only oneself in charge of one’s day—plus social media— has made superstars out of teenagers and octogenarians alike.

Drive-thru Virtual Graduation for U.S. Students, Remote Viewing A-levels in Britain

A virtual world for Education premiered in British A-level exam results, and U.S. Virtual Graduation ceremonies, with drive-in access to ‘graduates’ on a giant public screen, and cars suitably six feet apart. Zoom and Facetime no longer domain of teenagers, hosts home vids from newbies thru to experts. Tweets and Instagram posts get a million followers, 12-year olds become ‘social media influencers.’ Even the Mother Road, beloved of Kerouac and the Beat Gen, has shown (very cool, hip) example by maintaining nightly shows at its Route 66 Drive-In Movie theater in Jaspar, MO, with Miami Dolphins converting their stadium for film shows and Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Drive-Ins operating in many states.

Our entertainment antennae are being tweaked. We lap up visual, virtual televised or electronically-generated media like babes to the bottle. Royal audiences have become a television moment of a tap on the virtual shoulder by a non-corporeal monarch with a (light saber) sword.

Angelic Intervention and Messages from the Stars

Our senses have become heightened by this aloneness. Plus an automatic human response to being caged—escape—to get out into Nature and do more walking, planting, appreciating. World movements have appeared, to plant rescue forests, create community veg and fruit gardens, rewilding abandoned plots and city parks. Cairngorms National Park, largest park in Britain, has committed to revitalising biodiversity and to restoring (near-extinct) Caledonian Pine Forest (rewilding and exclosure plantings) and to Scotland’s looted and damaged peat bogs. Some highland estates have initiated a reduced seasonal game shoot, with fewer acres of heather burn (cover for the grouse), allowing local wildlife to return in natural numbers.

Messages from aloft include December highlight Saturn/Jupiter Great Conjunction, when every planet and asteroid that we know of—plus a few we didn’t imagine—came into alignment in a small quadrant of our (Earth-view) sky, over winter Solstice. While the two giants are separating now, they continue to dominate January skies. Astrologers predict cataclysmic change. Seismic scientists believe this alignment of planetary bodies produces earth-directed energy, similar to the effect of a sunspot maximum when the solar face aims directly at earth: it produces increased volcanic eruption and earthquake movement.

Something like that is happening now—which started on Solstice—in the Halema’uma’u Caldera, a collapsed crater atop Hawai’i’s Kilauea volcano, 4,000ft. Quiet for three decades, goddess Pele chose earth’s shortest day to reawaken a two-year old collapsed shield volcano that had filled with water (60ft deep). Blasting through rock, old petrified magma, and evaporating the water lake in process, Halema’uma’u (and Pele) created a lava lake that is currently changing the local landscape. Watch this space.

Writerly Conclusions—When Life Brings you Lemons, er, Lava—make Lava-ade?

Meanwhile an Epiphany in the (smokey but breathable) writers’ cave, wassup, Doc? Is a new year resolution to keep on keeping on when all around are losing theirs, still valid if the ground we walk on is shifting beneath our feet? In our newfound zeal for restoring the wild, reducing CO2, becoming more in tune with Mother Nature, do we turn the clock back aka horse-drawn-plough? or forward aka book a seat on Space-X?

Roman ingenuity would have known. Ancient advice to the fallen, the wounded, the lost—and the found? Get back on the horse.

Woodstock wound up the summer of flower power fifty years ago this month, cementing musical friendships and crashing through new sound barriers which are audible today. Many of those groundbreaking musicians continue to perform the circuit. David Crosby, James Taylor, Graham Nash and Joni Mitchell come to mind…they/we thought then we were creating a New World…

RECIPE FOR SURVIVAL IN THE END TIMES

Now a great sign appeared in heaven:
A woman clothed with the Sun, with the Moon under her feet,
And on her head a garland of twelve stars.
Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.
REVELATION 12:1-2

On September 23, 2017 an alignment which has been forming in the heavens all summer comes into sharp focus alongside the prediction of Revelation 12. As far as can be determined from computer models, this is the only time such a celestial sign will occur in history.

Strong solar wind and extra-large sunspots have brought early aurora borealis

It literally marks the Great Sign of Revelation prophesied to appear in the heavens. The woman clothed in stars is Virgo–the Virgin. The Sun appears to be ‘clothing Virgo’ and the Moon will lie under her feet on Equinox. The garland of twelve stars are the nine stars of Leo—including Regulus—plus three wandering ‘stars’ which have been approaching conjunction within Leo at this time—to make twelve. Those wandering ‘stars’ are planets Mercury, Venus and Mars. The last element of the Biblical sign is that the Virgin is with child. That planet—’star of the Messiah’—is Jupiter.

The Hajj—Saudi Arabia’s millions circling the Prophet’s sacred tomb in Mecca—in 2017 fell 3 weeks before Ramadan

During the months of August and September 2017, Jupiter rested in the womb of Virgo. Again, no replication of this sign has yet been found by researcher Mark Chiswell who scoured astronomical records for the last 7000 years.

The Sign of Revelation can be seen to represent the birth of Messiah from the Virgin of Israel, but Chiswell insists it be taken as an actual sign to be visible, seen by the masses as a way to understand the context of (post-Historic) times in which this significant event occurs.

“It happens within the timeline of the End of Days,” he says. That, too, was catalogued in Judaic scripture: Biblical prophecy says it will occur in correlation with the 70th Week of Daniel–the final period of seven years before Messiah comes to rule the planet.

Another solution may lie within Micah 5.

Mermaid or Sea Maiden with Unicorn wave-riders

The proximity of this year’s August 21st total solar eclipse over North America relates closely to the Saudi Arabian Hajj, ten days later, above right, as well as the Revelation-12 Sign one month later, on September 23rd, 2017, Equinox. Rosh Hoshanah synchronously ends at dusk the night before.

The metaphor of an eclipsed America is not lost on world critics. But more significantly, the equinox date marks a coming together of three major world religions, as well as the culmination of an astronomical event which began nine months ago on November 20th, 2016, when Jupiter—the King planet—entered (retrograde) into the body of constellation Virgo.

Because of its retrograde motion, Jupiter spent 9-1/2 months in the womb of Virgo, until Equinox, September 23rd, 2017, when it will be ‘delivered’ by exiting—going direct—with the Sun rising directly behind the Virgo constellation—the Moon at her feet and a crown of twelve stars—nine of Leo constellation, including Regulus—with planets Mercury, Venus and Mars—in her ‘hair’.

SIGNS IN THE SKIES
Galactic Seed Reflected in the Heavens and in the Corn

Crop circle August 17 ’17 at Sutton Hall, Essex, proclaiming a message we may not be able to hear

Quietly, on August 17th, 2017 a crop circle appeared in a harvest field at Sutton Hall, Essex declaring to all who view it a blared message in the corn. Few have been able to decipher it, though it touches the inner soul and we have an itch to scratch it.

At the time, there were still four more days to go, and the northern hemisphere was gearing up for the total solar eclipse across middle America. Now, in retrospect, the design appears to use the eclipse as sending point—origin—of an important message.

Feathered Serpent Kukulkan descends staircase at sunset on Equinox at Chichen Itza

While humanity is gazing at the skies, why not grab their attention and tell them what’s in store…

One scholar of Mayan Calendar detail is Maya (sic) Todorova who gives this interpretation:
On the left side of the formation is the circle ‘S’, which symbolizes the Source. Within this circle a lunar crescent ‘М’ is depicted and a smaller circle, that symbolize the First Moon with Tone 1.

Magnetic Moon Descends Staircase with Equinoctial Sun

On the right side of the formation can be seen 22 closed squares, which represent the first 22 days of the 1st Magnetic Moon, which on 17 August are already ‘closed’—they are already past.

The symbol ‘G’ is a sign for Goal. With this sign the formation reminds us, that we have few days left until the end of the 1st Magnetic Moon (26 July—22 August), in which we can identify our Goals (our Purpose) for the Yellow Crystal Seed Year.

Symbol ‘K’ depicts a Key. Tone 1 is the Magnetic Gate of the New Galactic Year. The Key symbolizes the opening of this Magnetic Gate.
Maya Todorova CropCircleConnector, Wiltshire, England
Ms. Todorova was not to know that the August 17th crop circle was to be the LAST of the 2017 season—a blared message indeed.

Daykeeper Hunbatz Men, modern Elder of the Guatemalan Maya, foresees no apocalypse

Daykeeper Hunbatz Men, modern Elder of the Guatemalan Maya, foresees no apocalypse

“According to the prophecy in the year 2013 the first stage of higher understanding will begin. If we are willing to work with our subconscious, we will then be able to reclaim the information that has been impregnated in the deepest parts of our being. In this way, the ancient knowledge will rise again.”
Hunbatz Men, Daykeeper and Mayan Elder

Meanwhile—one month later—in Chichen Itza, heartland of the Maya, visitors and tribal devotees prepare for the annual dance of the sun—in the body of feathered serpent Kukulkan—down the sacrificial staircase of El Castillo at equinoctial sundown.

Signs of the [End] Times or Birth of a New Age?
Judaic scripture uses sacred numerology and dramatic descriptions of the Rapture and Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—war, pestilence, famine and death which symbolize the End of Days. Arab sacred texts repeat the need for constant prayer by the devoted in order to be saved. The Maya believe that sharing their higher understanding—handed down by their elders from the time of the Ancients—will save the human race from itself. Maya wisdom says the New Age began four years ago!

Will a once-in-7000 years’ stellar happening be dramatic enough to wake up three-quarters of the world’s major religious groups three days from now and get six million people out of bed before dawn to scan the eastern horizon? Will it change the way we look at the sky? view our amazing universe with more awe? more respect?

While difficult to pinpoint with the naked eye against the backdrop of dawn, 7a.m., binoculars will help immensely: Mercury and Mars rise at 5:27 and 5:37a.m respectively. Venus shines superbly, rising ahead of them at 4:40a.m., all three lighting up Virgo’s ‘hair’ (in the constellation Leo). It takes a little extra imagination to picture her giving birth to Jupiter, whose light is eclipsed at sunrise, but who will miraculously appear that same evening in the west immediately after sunset, 7p.m., alongside the newest of new moons! reclining within the body of Virgo.

We ask for heavenly signs to show us the way forward?
Voilà.

Equinox: Stargate Portal to 2012 Final Quarter

September 26, 2012

Inca portal of Amaru Muru at Hayu Marca, which is believed to give access to the world of serpent wisdom and interdimensional travel

Last weekend the sun stood, as it does on both equinoxes—March 21st, September 22nd—directly overhead on earth’s equator, before making its (apparent) journey southward towards the tropic of Capricorn, where it will stand on winter solstice—S.hemisphere midsummer—on December 21st, 2012. For one day and night, everyone on planet earth experienced a twelve-hour day* and twelve-hour night, with sunrise due east and sunset due west. From now on, days in the northern hemisphere will appear dramatically shorter. If that were not enough to make the most avid outdoorsman turn inwards for consolation, the end of the British crop circle season would appear to be a done deal.

*allowance is made for sunrays appearing before ‘dawn’, giving longer daylight at some latitudes.

Sacred Tzolkin, ritual calendar of the ancient Maya, predicted within its Harmonic Matrix a unique succession of Galactic Activation Portals (GAPs)—13 tones of Creation in sequence—between September 11-21, 2012
image & interpretation courtesy Miguel Etchepare

The sacred ritual Tzolkin calendar of the Maya, often used for divination, predicted long ago that, during these ten days/ten consecutive portals which came in succession between September 11th and equinox eve, September 21st, 2012, our planet would stand in a space unencountered before in our time on earth: a space some would call interdimensional: a time to communicate with our higher selves; elevating each other, strengthening ourselves within the vibrational window.

Because there were portal parameters within which to work, perhaps it encouraged more people to try: the crop circle community certainly went at it, alongside others, which in turn augmented the surrounding energy.

Ten days ago, before Equinox, a lot of people were feeling it; writing about it in blogs. And the New Age section of Twitter seemed to pick up on it, spiritual tweets flowing daily with advice on personal development and support. For a period of ten days the internet seemed to take on a positive, enhancing shield: allowing input/expression and growth. What fun.

Language of Light embedded in crop circle code? Light on Hackpen Hill formation August 26th, 2012, now considered the “conduit closing” message of the season: full of cross-cultural clues, hints, pointers

Even more exciting is that several traditions are colliding at this time, each with its own calendrical calculation, meaning, and mantra. The Judaic calendar counted entry into the year 5773 on Monday September 17th, Rosh Hashanah, followed by even more sacred Yom Kippur, September 26th, the Day of Atonement. In the Roman Catholic—and indeed Judaic/Coptic calendar—Archangel Michael’s feast follows on September 29th, Michaelmas.

Of all world calendars, the Hebrew count, begun in c.3800BC, is the most reliable, predictable counter of Time. Julius Caesar’s calendar of early Rome—the Julian—updated and corrected only two years before he died in 44BC, lasted for fifteen centuries, until it started losing days (how careless) and was superseded by the Gregorian Calendar of 1582, currently in use by the western world. By embedding leap years, it succeeded in tightening up the anomaly with the solar year, from which it now differs by only 26 seconds.

Calendars of ancient Egypt, dating from the Old Kingdom (2780 – 2250BC), are seldom quoted these days, but the sacred tablets of the Pharoahs and temple inscriptions indicate deep understanding of the workings of the heavens, of creation, space-time, and, most revealing of all, the measurement of the precession of the equinoxes: which all early cultures recognized as marking divisions in the celestial sphere, as accurately as the minute hand on a grandfather clock.

Zep Tepi: Beginning of Time [First Time]
Ancient texts, such as the (much-maligned) Hebrew/Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Egyptian ‘Knowledge of Thoth’, insist that we humans are destined to become gods; that from their Zep Tepi—Dawn of Time—literally First Time—we were programmed to evolve beyond our present terrestrial form. The Egyptian god spoke of the Star Walkers, individuals who, like Enoch, traveled beyond the Great Eye of Orion [out of the program] and returned, to walk like gods amongst men. Such evolved humans are comparable with the ‘Lords of Light’ of the Maya, Sumerian Nephilim or Anunnaki—”those who from Heaven to Earth came”—and the Tibetan Shining Ones/Dakini.

Prehistoric Serpent Mound contained no burials; raised as a sacred emblem to the Adena people’s protective spirit in Ohio’s lush farming hinterland: egg in serpent’s mouth aligns with summer solstice sunset

Enochian texts suggested that regular cataclysmic changes would act as evolutionary agent provocateur, to quicken resident life forms into taking the next evolutionary step—prior to exodus from the womb planet, or creational egg.

According to many world legends, the Zep Tepi returns at the beginning and end of each time cycle, the 13,000 year half-point of our solar system’s 26,000-year zodiacal orbit around galactic center, seen in the precession of the equinoxes. Because of conditions in our galactic orbit, these 13,000 year intervals or ‘worlds’ appear separated by cataclysmic upheaval, ongoing throughout history.

So it is a revelation to discover that, alongside the Long Count Calendar of the Maya, the calendar-in-stone of the Great Pyramid—or ‘Phoenix Cycle’ of our galactic orbit, in Gregorian time, converted—reveals that their predicted end-time also falls on December 21st, 2012.

Compared with these, the Long Count calendar of the Maya, founded in 3114BC, now 5126 years old, a combination of cosmology and the measurement of Man’s evolution, is the most romantic and prophetic of ancient counting systems. Alongside their sacred, ritual Tzolkin and the solar/fiscal Haab, the Longcount is the most cosmically satisfying. Its dramatic predictions have gained a huge fanbase during 2012, ranging from a most evocative Native American cultural resurgence, to the outlandish/misleading Apolcalypse Now scenario.

The four faces of the nine-stepped pyramid of El Castillo, dedicated to Kukulcán at Chichén Itzá, Yucatán is divided into 4×91 steps = 364, plus the common top step = 365 days = 1 solar year

It is no surprise, then, that on equinox again this year thousands gathered at Chichén Itzá in present-day Yucatán to watch sunset. Guatemala is Maya heartland, Yucatán, its former spiritual home (now within Mexico), where on equinox, twice every year the magical serpent of light (Sun) weaves its snakelike form down (September) and up (March) the step-pyramid El Castillo’s rampart outline against the sky; hundreds of neighboring Guatemalan and Mexican visitors attended the sunset ceremony on equinox, September 22nd this year.

Looking back on the 2012 season, it is remarkable that something we wrote in 2010 applies this year, too:

The (crop circles) brought us dimensions beyond those we’re accustomed to thinking in, sacred geometry and energy vortices and power places known to all previous civilizations, but somehow ‘lost’ to our own: magical light orbs and mysterious high-pitched sound accompanying the formation of a circle or even group meditative ‘requests’ for such a crop appearance.

Serpent Symbolism in World Myths

Seven little serpent ‘tadpoles’ appeared just before Equinox in an Ohio field within the Hopewell ancient mounds; neighboring Adams county is home to the famed Serpent Mound of the Adena or ‘Fort Ancient’ culture, 1000BC-AD1000, photo courtesy Jeff Wilson

2012 brought to light a much deeper cultural myth, however: the cosmic intervention of the Serpent. Debased in Judaeo-Christian ethos as pagan ignorance, belief of a common (peasant) mentality—and blamed for Man’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden for suggesting knowledge gained from the Tree of Life—the serpent/dragon/kundalini energy nevertheless has come back to ‘educate’ us: literally [Latin, e-ducere=]to lead us out from our mindless state of cultural ignorance—into the Light.

It is not as if ancestral serpent wisdom has not been trying to alert us: the Egyptian pharaoh-god-king habitually wore the uraeus as a symbol of divine knowledge; modern physicians are represented by the caduceus, the staff of their lengthy studies entwined with the serpent imparting its wisdom. The dragon is totem for all oriental cultures, and even English hero, St George, is depicted as slaying his own dragon (of so-called pagan ignorance). Italian culture used serpent symbolism, as did the Romans, and the Greek Ouroboros famed as representing Mankind undulating forth around the Earth, only to return to seek its own beginnings.

To the Maya, however, and possibly—while little understood—to the indigenous cultures of North America as represented by the Adena people, above—the serpent of wisdom-knowledge-enlightenment-consciousness is one who seeks to return not only to ancient ways, but to its own birth canal; the Maya sacred tree, which grows in the dark chasm at the center of the Milky Way, the birth canal—Vesica Piscis—to which its child, the Sun, solar system and all earth-dwellers will return on winter solstice 2012.

So, if the latest equinoctial surprise in Ohio, above, of a crop circle of serpent-tadpoles emulating the serpent-alien theme that decked Wiltshire fields in profusion all summer, has come to give us a final message at the end of the season, it is perhaps this: as stated in the now famous crop circle of Chilbolton 2002:

Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts and their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. BELIEVE. There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. conduit closing (bell sound)

The Ohio tadpole ring, while resonant with the Serpent Mound in neighboring Adams County, appeared within the ancient mounds of the Hopewell culture. It is now well-known within the crop circle community that several strands of consciousness, meaning and significance are embedded in such glyphs, and its occurrence at Hopewell may indeed be another message: one for the human race to BELIEVE, to hope well, to look forward to what the future has in store for us.

Almost as a postscript, comes the knowledge produced by current advances in DNA research, where studies have shown that our very cells—junk DNA—are encoded to remember who we are. Such is the golden alchemy of time and consciousness that is unfolding now before our eyes.

What culminated in the British crop circle seasonal finale—the subliminal message(s) of Hackpen interdimensional cube-within-a-portal, above—the serpent mother-Earth pictures of Picked Hill, Avebury and Woodborough, and now seen in the tadpole ring at Hopewell, Ohio, is a strand of communication now penetrating our thought patterns collectively as a culture.

If we are open to it, it appears to be a message from our own higher consciousnes: that ancestral serpent knowledge is alive and that all is well.

Five Crop Circles: Mexican Wave & Water Wakeup Call

March 26, 2011

One of five crop circles in Tlapanaloya, Hidalgo, Mexico last weekend

In the last few years the eyes of the world have been fixed on Crop Circles in the (Northern hemisphere) summer months. The eyes of the world are elsewhere at the moment. So it is not surprising that five crop circles which appeared over last weekend’s Vernal Equinox in two oat fields in Tlapanaloya, 33 miles north of Mexico City were given little media attention. Reuters, the Washington Post and Mexico’s El Universal seemed to be the only news media interested in the phenomenon. They are the first new appearances since the January surprise in Java.

TLAPANALOYA is the old name for this fertile farming region, still tilled and irrigated along indigenous/traditional lines and miraculously spared in Mexico’s headlong drive for industrial ‘revolution’. In its new guise as Tepeji del Rio de Ocampo, Hidalgo, Mexico, it is surrounded by industrial development: several hydro dams, effluent canals, a bauxite-cement works at Cruz Azul, a large military installation, several multi-lane highways (autopista), a national rail line and access roads to feed nationally-supported mineral extraction and mining operations to north and west.

Tlapanaloya lies at latitude 19º52’ N longitude 99º21’W.

Mexican Cordillera L to R: Iztaccíhuatl, Popocatepétl, volcano Malinche, Cofre de Perote and Citlaltépetl

Latitude 19º is significant as the Parallel along which the southern boundary of the North American tectonic plate meets with the Central American plate. Here a line of volcanoes rising to 16,000 feet –the Cordillera de Mexico (or Neovolcanic Ridge)– stretches from the Revillagigedo Islands in the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. Seismic activity is frequent here, and the valley is considered an earthquake-prone zone.

Located thirty-three miles north of central Mexico City, Tlapanaloya lies within the closed basin of the ancient Valley of Mexico. At around 7,000 feet, it was the original picturesque Lake District of five lakes, and domain of the people of Teotihuacan, the Toltec and Aztec. The Toltec and Aztec spoke Nahuatl.

The Nahuatl name for the Valley of Mexico was the Anahuac, meaning the plateau or ‘place between the waters’.

Now those waters are crying out for help.

There were originally five great lakes in this stunningly beautiful setting, hemmed in on all sides by mountain peaks that rise to 16,000 feet. But in the last 200 years successive dams and reservoir construction schemes have funneled and tunneled the waters away from their traditional lakebeds and aquifers. Their clear streams were instead diverted to become waste carriers: ‘effluent’–glorified drains for the population of megalopolis Mexico City–now bursting at the seams with a central population in excess of nine million souls (2010 census 8,851,080, see MCMA, below).

Image of Eagle on Cactus in miraculous growth from Stone: Mexico-Tenochtitlan in the Mendoza codex

Mexico City’s ancient name was Mexico-Tenochtitlan after the Nahua-Aztec tribe, Mexica: it means the ‘co-‘ ‘place of the Mexica among stone cactuses’. In symbolic terms, the image (represented in Mexico’s coat-of-arms and flag) is one of an eagle perched on a cactus which grew from a stone (supreme achievement through the greatest of adversity in environment)

The Rio Tula–the Tula River, from which the nearby industrial town of Tula Allende takes its name–is, according to Mexico’s National Water Commission [Comisión Nacional del Agua de México], one of the most polluted rivers in the country. Tula (Tollan) was the Toltec capital, Tollan-Xicocotitlan in its heyday–AD8th-10thCC (Post-Classic period)*–but suffered brutally under Spanish invasions of 16thC, when its society collapsed.

The Toltec called their capital Tollan, surrounded by natural wetlands–a fertile gift from their Sun-and-star god Quetzalcoatl–Xicocotitlan, the ‘place among the reeds near the home of the wasp/bee’.

The Atlanteans of Tula Grande, basalt figures over 12feet high carved from volcanic rock guard the Toltec Tollan temple to Quetzalcoatl (AD10th-12thCC)

The great Atlantean statues which guarded the temple of serpent-god/Venus-morning-star-Queztalcoatl, prior to Tollan‘s destruction by the Spanish, have been reinstated to stand on their original plinths, rescued from the ignominious ditch where they were found buried–hidden by retreating Toltec from Spanish gaze.

Today Tula and Tlapanaloya reflect Toltec civilization in name only. And even that has changed. Tlapanaloya is now called Tepeji del Rio de Ocampo and Tula is Tula Grande or Tula Allende– a far cry from its original endearing Toltec-Oromi name: Tollan-Xicocotitlan: ‘place of the bumble-bee.’ Implication is that bees flourished in a rich hinterland where agriculture, flowers, and fruit trees blossomed. Much has changed since their culture died.

Popocátepetl, Aztec 'smoking mountain' stands at 17,802feet 33miles S of Mexico City

Coincidentally, 33miles SE of Mexico City stands the stratovolcano Popocatépetl. At 17,802 feet, its massif is also contained within the 19th parallel and its location is within one degree of longitude of the Tlapanaloya crop circles–at 19°1’24″N 98°37’20″W. It erupted last year (2010) and its present rumblings are ongoing. Its eruptions were recorded in Aztec codices and its legendary lahars and pyroclastic flows (mud and ash slides) are seen as a constant threat to Mexico City in modern times–since the city’s massive sprawl has gradually spread into the volcano’s sphere of influence.

FIVE LAKES: how many remain?
Although originally flowing through the wide Tula Valley, which could accommodate its wild seasonal fluctuations, the river was guided by an ingenious 17thC drainage system, itself a replacement for indigenous waterworks built with native stone, which for the previous 500 years supplied the local population with much-needed water in the dry season. The Tula works simultaneously provided essential water for agriculture (as the ancestors had done) and allowed excess floodwaters in the rainy season to channel from the Basin of Mexico into the Gulf. Now–thanks to gigantic 19thC dams and, more damaging to culture and ecosystems, massive bureaucratically-driven hydro-related and industrial concrete construction from 1930s onwards, the Tula River is catchment for what is left of the rivers of the Valley of Mexico basin which originally tumbled out of the five lakes: Texcoco, Chalco, Xochimilco, Xaltocan and Zumpango.

Five Great Lakes of (15thC) Valley of Mexico: only one remains and it is dammed

Tula River is part of the Pánuco Hydrologic Region, which has a long history of exploitation for its fresh artesian ground-water. The Tula itself feeds into the Rio Moctezuma which empties into the Pánuco, one mile outside the industrial ports of Tampico/Altamira and Cuidad Madero on the Gulf Coast. Altamira has major industry-standard docks for container-vessel traffic. It is no longer known for its (previous reputation as a) bird sanctuary. Tourist traffic is usually carefully diverted south to the coastal resorts of Vera Cruz or the Yucatan peninsula.

According to data from the National Water Commission of Mexico, the Tula is one of the most polluted rivers in the country. It ‘generates 409.42 million cubic meters of “wastewater” annually.’ Tula River’s pollution stems from this stream’s manmade adaptation as a channel for solid (untreated) human waste along with industrial effluent from both the Mexico City Metropolitan Area (MCMA, sic), and the ‘industrial zones’ around Tula de Allende.

Lake Texcoco was described in 15thC historical records as a huge natural reservoir–a ‘visual masterpiece’ of mountain-fed streams, wildlife-filled marshes and brackish pools. It was home to the Pelican. Agriculturally-adept and innovative, the native Indios harvested salt from the saltlakes and dammed the ‘sweet-water’ lakes for use in their agricultural terraces (traditional Chinampa ‘gardens’ or small fields). Aztec tradition records that the northern lakes were inaccessible by canoe during the dry season between October and May. When the (summer) rainy season came, Texcoco was known to ‘join up’ with its four sister lakes and canoes were again able to navigate within the lake system.

Lake Texcoco is now dry. The other lakes have gone.

Zumpango Lake (Nahuatl=Tzompantli), the northernmost of the historical lakes in the main basin of the Valley of Mexico, between the towns of Zumpango and Teoloyucan, is the only body of water left of the original five. It lies within 12 miles of the five Equinoctial crop circle formations. It is a manmade version of the original whose boundaries were formed when a canal begun in 1605 started the process of drainage in the Valley, North into the Tula River. It is still home to the 10-meter-deep canyon, the sewage-laden Gran Canal. The original lake has been drained. Only the canal and west drainage tunnel system remain.

Zumpango reservoir has suffered a gradual process of degradation by the presence of industrial operations on its shores and the influx of sewage from Mexico City. The ‘West Issuer’ tunnel, which was originally used exclusively for stormwater drainage, now transports wastewater with a high heavy metal content while increasing tonnage of human waste is discharged into Presa tributaries. Currently, state and local government officially designate it a ‘Water Sanctuary’, but there are no active conservation plans to maintain its high ecological value in the Basin for numerous migratory bird species that take refuge in its waters.

Pelican persevere here. But pollution continues by the local population, compounded by motorized tourism (aquaplaning, outboard motors), and water verges are not maintained. Motor boats disturb avian habitat. Few tourists shown the neighboring solid waste effluent make return visits. At this rate, it is a matter of time before both birds and visitors will have no refuge here.

Formerly part of five legendary lakes that made the Valley beautiful, the name Zumpango is also derived from the Nahuatl meaning ‘the place of the row of skulls’. It was a place of sacred prayer and reverence for the Ancestors. That, too, has gone.

Tourist trajineras on the canals of former lake Xochimilco

The remaining three lakes were drained by settlers from the time of Spanish Conquest, accelerated by subsequent labor, military and government initiatives. The old lakebeds are now almost entirely covered by urban development. One remnant canal at (former Lake) Xochimilco is maintained as a tourist attraction where visitors tour in trajineras (gondolas).

The axolotl, a rare salamander endemic to Lake Chalco, moved house when that Lake was drained, to take up fragile residence near the Canals of its neighboring ‘Lake’ Xochimilco, It is now considered a ‘critically endangered species’ by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Otherwise, the historic Lake Region is now without lakes.

A whole settlement flooded by the Army in 1931 to form Presa Taxhimay

Tlapanoloya is itself ringed by further waterworks–all artificial. They are called Presas=reservoir, dam.
Presa Escondida at the southern end of the Requena Reservoir, is a small dam 3km N of Tlapanaloya; the Presa Requena Tepeji itself, within the town limits, is a reservoir still frequented by wildlife, including pelican; the Presa Escondida, a dam to the west, is polluted and has no wildlife whatsoever; the Presa Encinillas 5miles distant at Jagüeyes is skirted by six-lane Highway 57 at a busy intersection. It no longer attracts fowl and is polluted by industrial effluent from the Cruz Azul plant. It seems ironic that Highway 57 headed 100 miles NW brings pilgrims to the tiny rancho Chahin at Tlacote near Querétaro. There Señor Jesus Chahin gives away samples of spring water from his own ‘miracle’ well, an artesian supply of unrivalled purity believed to cure all ills.

Back in Tlapanaloya, the largest dam, Presa Taxhimay, formerly Laguna Taxhimay, three miles south of town, is the largest man-made Presa of them all. It was flooded by design in 1931 on the order of General Manuel Avila Camacho. In so doing he completely annihilated the Post-classic, colonial and Spanish settlements of Hacienda Catarina and San Luis Rey, whose church towers remain above the waters of Taxhimay dam surface.

Tlapanaloya Crop Circles in Chinampa ‘Gardens’

Farmer Enrique Hernandez in one of 5 crop circles in his oats in Tlapanaloya

Fortuitously, all five of last weekend’s crop circles appeared in oat meadows still farmed in the Chinampa style–planted and lovingly tended in traditional small rectangular-shaped fields by local Tlapanaloya farmer Enrique Hernandez. He was reported to be mystified by their choice of location but delighted that his crop was not spoiled. On the other hand, if he had been assured that his own way of life and his organically-grown porridge oats–now with their hugely enhanced CC/ET-vibration–were teetering on the edge of extinction, he might feel proud.

It is becoming clear that–whatever one feels about the provenance of crop circles the world over–they do occur in locations which require our attention.

Given that the Tlapanaloya crop circles did NOT contain elaborate interior designs–as are now commonplace in sophisticated annual formations on Salisbury Plain and the fields of Wiltshire’s electromagnetic aquifer–it seems a simple intuitive leap from the five Mexican crop circles to a crisis water situation, symbolized by the five extinct Great Lakes of the Basin of Mexico–along with their important historical contribution to this crucial aquifer.

They also occur as part of a triangle of 33: Their point is 33miles N of Mexico City. Also 33 miles NE of the city lies Teotihuacan, where equinox is seriously celebrated each year. And Teotihuacan lies approx.33 miles E of Tlapanaloya.

Equinox sunset over the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan, Valley of Mexico, March 20, 2011

The crop circles appeared on Equinox weekend when hundreds of thousands of Mexico City residents head for the pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan–to pay their respects to the setting sun as it disappears behind the pyramid. Teotihuacan, Toltec ‘place where men become gods’ lies just 33miles east of Enrique’s field. Its central avenue’s due N-S alignment, on which the pyramid’s shadow casts a precise shadow at the moment of dusk, remains today a fascination for Mexicans who traditionally celebrate the onset of spring on Equinox. This year was no exception. Teotihuacan was mobbed.

It was also the weekend before the world-wide celebration of World Water Day, March 22nd.

Water is becoming scarce in many countries with over-population and rising mean annual temperatures. Water will soon be a commodity more precious than the metals mined in the Mexican hinterland.

The present explosion of shanty towns — barrios — which have sprung up in the last decade around the Mexican megacity have bolstered the population of MCMA (see above) to 21 milion people. While canals and drainage systems channel their human waste North into the Valley of Mexico agricultural region centered on (the crop circles of) Tlapanaloya, a clean drinkable water supply continues to be a problem in the city.

Industrial growth within an enclosed basin has not only produced pollutants in smog, but water quality issues for the Valley. Over-extraction of ground water has caused new flooding problems for the city as it sinks below the historic lake floor. Seasonal flooding was thought to have been historically ‘cured’ by the Spanish and successive Mexican governments by the very act of drainage. Now excessive drainage–and extraction of more water than is being replenished naturally causes subsidence and the need for further infrastructure–more pipes and tunnels.

For a high mesa totally enclosed within mountain ranges, the Valley is completely dependent on its groundwater supply. This has traditionally come from the underlying aquifers, the upwelling of seasonal springs supplemented by (previously unwanted) flooding and rains. These underground springs and wells are now almost exclusively the source of drinking water for the greater metropolitan area of Mexico City. With the rapid addition of shanty barrios around the city’s outer limits, more water is being pumped out of the city’s underground reservoirs than Nature is pouring in–[main aquifer currently pumps 880,000 USgallons/minute while the water table refreshes at around 440,000 gals/min]–that is, water is replenishing at around half the extraction rate.

Much of the city has now sunk below the ancient lakebed level and it continues to sink at around 15 inches per year. Water from the surrounding mountains which always flowed towards the city, now passes through shanty towns where there are no city ‘services’ (water supply or sewage removal), so the rivers become sewers–which contribute to an ongoing health risk in the capital. MCMA is struggling to prevent this contaminated water from entering the drinking supply.

The present dilemma is specific to Mexico. But in the West, clean and clear water is a blessing and a gift we may not have appreciated enough until now.

All this communicated by a chance appearance in two traditionally-planted-and-irrigated Chinampa fields in a rural district of central Mexico? you ask?

Perhaps not explicitly, but we have had a little experience of messages transmitted in the last decade of crop circles in other areas of the world where aquifers–and their underlying electromagnetic mysteries–have contributed enormously to the medium.

This Mexican Wave may indeed be sending us a High Five: a reminder to reconnect with our traditional lifestyles. But it is more likely to be a distress signal–a wakeup call.

We would be well-advised to listen and heed its message.

The Plasma Universe: our Electric Connection

January 24, 2011

Gods wielding Thunderbolts: not imaginary mythological tales but formative Earth's memory of her violent past

Plasma braids:
“Thunderbolt that steers the Universe”

Heraclitus, 5th Century B.C.

Our galaxy is not void.

For years we were taught traditional theory of our Universe as ‘space’, a vacuum, inert, orderly with few surprises. It was forever expanding outward from a point of primeval Big Bang, controlled and geared by gravity (the weakest celestial force), full of black holes, with anomalous behavior in comets, meteorites and exploding galaxies explained as the work of anti-matter, ‘dark’ matter or, as in nuclear physics, attributed to ‘unknown’ factors such as quarks, charm, CERN‘s conjectural Higgs-Boson particle or the existence of the ‘weak force’, anti-gravity or String Theory’s multiple dimensions. While physicists had trouble proving their theories (many of the ‘forces’ and particles were hypothetical and had theoreticians predicting ‘mass-less’ entities and the ‘graviton’) they are now swinging to a view of the operation of the Universe via another mode of Being:

As electrically-charged plasma.

Plasma is looked upon as the ‘fourth state of matter’, different from solid, liquid, gas. And as plasma is almost exclusively electromagnetic –a cluster of ionized particles– electrical theory is being unwrapped from the closet and given another airing.

NASA, JPL, CERN and the Los Alamos National Laboratory all give explanations for their switch from traditional space theory to a more generally accepted (and more familiar electromagnetically-driven) plasma physics, whose founding father, Swedish Nobel laureate Hannes Alfvén (1908-1995) coined the phrase ‘Plasma Universe’. Originally trained as an electrical power engineer, he researched and taught many years in the field. His plasma theories describe behavior of aurorae, Earth’s Van Allen radiation belts, effect of magnetic storms on Earth’s magnetic field, magnetic and electric fields in cosmic plasmas, the terrestrial magnetosphere and dynamics of plasmas within our galaxy.

Because of its unique behavior, (unlike solids, liquids, gas) plasma is seen as the dominant form of matter in the universe. It has been called the ‘fundamental state of matter.’

When a material is heated from solid to liquid to gas phase, and then even hotter, it starts to become ionized, i.e. one or more electrons of an atom become liberated. Plasma is essentially a collection of ionized particles and while in its simplest form it behaves according to basic electromagnetic laws, at its most complex it continues to astonish specialists in its ability to self-organize into cells with different electrical characteristics.

Plasma comes in many forms, all electromagnetically active

Plasmas are not routinely encountered on the Earth’s surface. Natural plasmas, however, do form lightning and aurora, with the cool, man-made version most commonly seen in fluorescent light bulbs. Solar corona and solar flares are good examples of hot plasma. Earth’s magnetosphere contains plasma generated by particles of solar wind interacting with Earth’s own electromagnetic field, liberating ions into the Ionosphere (upper atmosphere).

Aurora borealis, Aurora australis

Aurora borealis/australis is the result of charged solar wind particles clashing with and becoming trapped within the Van Allen radiation belts, where they hit the ionosphere and fluoresce. Every planet with a magnetic field generates its own plasma, like that around Jupiter and its moon Io. Beyond the solar system, in interstellar space, ions and electrons proliferate everywhere.

Fire in the Sky
A plasma discharge (spontaneous flash of light) is familiar to students of electromagnetism. To our ancestors, however, who must have witnessed many such plasma discharges in the ancient skies and recorded these (frightening) occurrences, they were seen as battles of the gods, sky heroes and god-kings clashing with sky monsters, serpents, ‘smoke-stars’, fire-dragons which, against apparently insuperable odds, they succeeded in overcoming.

As comets enter the inner solar system, a plasma tail often develops (in addition to a non-charged tail of dust), like Shoemaker-Levy 9 (1993-4) and Hale-Bopp (1995, 1997). NASA’s most famous comet-rendezvous program, Deep Impact, confirmed cometary composition (‘dirty snowball’ plus ionized particle tails) in its hit on comet Tempel 1 in July 2005 and flyby of comet Hartley 2 November last year.

Several ancient cultures name fearful comets as ‘smoking stars’ and lightning, with its thunderbolt — often in the shape of axe, jagged staff or flashing sword — was seen as the divine weapon of gods and king-heroes wielded against ‘fiery dragons’ curled inside the earth (volcanoes?) which threatened the populace.

Castor and Pollux —Alpha and Beta Geminorum, the ‘heavenly’ or ‘thunder’ twins — were revered by the Aztec as the first ‘fire sticks’, from which Mankind learned to drill fire. And, interestingly, when the Peruvian Indians became Christian, they chose to call one of those twins Santiago because their missionaries taught them that Christ named James (Santiago) and John the ‘Sons of Thunder’.

In Mesopotamia 4,500 years earlier (4000 BC), Gemini* served as pointers to mark the beginning of the new year by setting with the first new moon of spring, just as Egyptian astronomy’s pointer Dog star Sirius, Sothis signaled annual flooding of the Nile. Classical Greece called them the Dioscuri, the ‘thunder boys’, sons of Zeus.

In the opinion of seminal scholar of world mythology Prof. J. Rendel Harris:

‘Great commentators of the Christian church had missed the meaning. In demythologizing the Bible, they threw out vast sections of primitive culture’s connection to the stars.’ (Boanerges 1913)

Authors Giorgio de Santillana and Hertha von Dechend of (IMHO) one of the greatest compilations of world mythology, (Hamlet’s Mill 1969, 1977, 2002) call the Bible ‘that most unscientific of records.’

Viewing cosmology in an electromagnetic context, the Mill of the title begins to make sudden sense of millennia of myth. Hamlet is a translation of Finnish/Norse/Icelandic proto-hero Amlodhi whose staff (Yggdrasil, ‘world tree’) spun the mill of the maelstrom, the whirlpool of the cosmos, the vortex, axis mundi — the Earth’s magnetic polar shaft. The Finnish quern/mill Sampo (vault of heaven, from Sanskrit skambha, pillar, pole, axis) ground out Mankind’s deep origins: it was this mill which created ocean, earth, Man. In good times it ground out ‘peace and plenty’, in bad times, salt. And, according to the Finns whose mythology is alive in recitation, it grinds still. It lingers in Vedic tradition in a hymn —Atharva Veda— to the world pillar (skambha):

A great monster in the midst of creation strode in penance on the back of the sea. In it are set what gods there are, like branches of a tree roundabout the trunk. AV 10.7.38

From such fragments of antiquity embedded in folk memory indicating a preoccupation with earth’s magnetic axis, it is tempting to believe that a polar shift, such as predicted by some for our ‘End Times’, may have occurred at least once before.

There seem to have been other cosmic cataclysmic occurrences.

Heliospheric current generates its own electromagnetic field

In an electromagnetic context within interstellar space, plasma spontaneously generates filaments which, like magnetic poles, attract each other at long distances and repel each other at short range. These filaments often braid themselves into ‘ropes’ that act like power transmission lines through space, with virtually unlimited scope in the distances and speeds they can travel.

Following precise magnetic field lines, these braids and ropes are known as Birkeland currents, after Norwegian explorer and physicist Kristian Birkeland who predicted them in 1903 after years of study of aurora in the Arctic.

Space plasma moving through a magnetic field generates its own electric current, and conducts electricity better than metals. Professor Emeritus of the Swedish Alfvén Laboratory, Carl-Gunne Fälthammar wrote (1986):

“A reason why Birkeland currents are particularly interesting is that, in the plasma forced to carry them, they cause a number of physical processes to occur (waves, instabilities, fine structure formation). These in turn lead to consequences such as accelerated charged particles, both positive and negative, and element separation (like preferential ejection of oxygen ions). Both classes of phenomena should be of general astrophysical interest far beyond that of understanding the space environment of our own Earth.”

In the medium of space, strong radial magnetic fields can make a plasma pinch like the hourglass-shaped Ant nebula, left, produce characteristic filaments like the plasma ball (top), and particle beams, as in its dense plasma center.

Filaments leave a magnetic field signature that is recognizable in the observable universe. Astronomers have been aware of these electromagnetic fields, but have historically paid them little attention.

At a most basic level, magnetic fields are produced only by electricity. So with new eyes we observe our Universe as electrically charged, electrically based and electrically-operated.

If stories transmitted through myth in all ancient cultures are taken as genuine records of visual phenomena –plasma bursts in the heavens– we begin to see formative earth peoples experiencing life on a volatile planet among cataclysmic prehistoric events happening in their skies. Our recent past, by comparison, has been a peaceful one. We can imagine how such events must have instilled fear, but faith and belief that their leaders (god-kings in ancient Egypt, China, Babylon) could and did overcome such monsters is not in our makeup. By ignoring the heavens, we have become complacent: we are no longer skywatchers. Because our history relates few cosmic incidents, we are lulled into ignoring our unique connection to our star, its orbiting companions, the Milky Way galaxy which drives us and the great space of infinity beyond.

Yet this is a running theme through all primitive earth culture, myth and art. And while science is beginning to access the bigger picture, we may be seeing a greater whole just in time: as the predicted solar maximum (increased sunspot activity, below) has the potential to return us to such tempestuous celestial activity as our ancestors experienced. Fire in our skies… perhaps eliciting earth’s (volcanic) response…

Astronomers and astrophysicists are beginning to accept that every energetic object in the universe has a plasma associated with it. Plasmas are detected by trace electromagnetic radiation (light, x-rays, radio waves), or in some cases, by the interaction of their ions and electrons with other objects.

Scientists think solar wind has been turned sideways by pressure from interstellar wind from distant stars

Distilling plasma theory down to its simplest form, and with great leaps in astronomical technology (space vehicles like Cassini and Voyager, telescopes like Hubble and SOHO), we can view and photograph from earth beautiful plasma nebulae which, excited by light from nearby stars, display precisely the same formations and explosive patterns seen in electromagnetism produced in the laboratory. It is also synchronous that Voyager is only now hurtling toward interstellar space approximately 10.8 billion miles (17.4 billion kilometers) from the sun on the outer edge of the solar system. Voyager 1 has crossed into an area of deep space where the velocity of hot ionized gas, (plasma) emanating directly outward from the sun as solar wind has slowed to zero.

Voyager 2 confirmed the existence of Van Allen radiation belts surrounding Uranus and Neptune.

As with Earth, the outer planets are affected by solar storms, but Earth’s proximity to her star (93 million miles, 1AU) makes her more susceptible.

Van Allen radiation belts surround Earth's magnetosphere

Energetic particle fluxes (radiation) can increase and decrease dramatically as a consequence of geomagnetic storms, themselves triggered by magnetic field and plasma disturbances produced by the Sun. We moved out of an unusually extended solar minimum last year. It may be in our interest to be (cautiously) more aware of the possibility of increasing solar disturbances during this next eleven-year cycle which will crown at solar maximum, thought to occur 2012.

While solar disruption on the scale of 1859’s Carrington Event may not happen, with our present dependence on electronic media for almost all human activity, we would be wise to have backup systems available, should such a CME-derived blackout occur.

Nobody in living memory knows what to do should a pole reversal occur. Angelic assistance is preferable.

Westbury crop circle July 2010 'Van Allen radiation belts'?

As we know (or rather, as some of us on this weblog community are following), 2009/2010 crop circle seasons were significant in their display of designs and consciousness-triggers alerting us to astrophysical phenomena and Earth’s fragility in its electromagnetic cocoon. Solar flares, plasma ejections (coronal mass ejections, CMEs), sunspot activity have all featured in Wiltshire wheatfields and are on the increase –see blog entries February through October 2010— alongside dimensional and spiritual instruction to prepare us for what may be around the corner.

Earth’s Mythological Past

Meantime, interdisciplinary researchers have not been idle. Given such a wealth of new information from astronomers, mythologists (following the trail begun by Hamlet’s Mill authors) have been working alongside scientists to make sense of thousands of years of transmitted lore, art, ancestral wisdom and belief which attest to hugely violent episodes in our planet’s past related to the heavens. Mythological and cultural archetypes worldwide share language, symbols and a timeframe which suggest a less-than-tranquil formative period in Earth’s evolution than the one traditionally held by astronomers.

Under the umbrella of the Thunderbolts Project of Portland, OR, scientists, authors, mythologists and historians led by Wallace Thornhill, David Talbott and electrical engineer Prof. Donald E. Scott, are cooperating with plasma physicist Dr. Anthony Peratt to interpret petroglyph symbolism used by almost every ancient civilization to depict mythological heroes and events. Peratt has for 30 years run a laboratory using computer-generated electrical activity to predict plasma bursts in celestial forms. Together they are finding remarkable resonance between plasma forms in the lab, those produced in the cosmos, and the rock art of ancient man who drew what he saw in the sky.

On a spiritual and cosmic level, an ‘electric Universe’ — via our planetary umbilical cord to our star; its energetic tie to Galactic Center and through it the galaxy’s electromagnetic relationship with all other galaxies and the most distant stars — can be viewed as a purposeful whole, held together by plasma ropes, braids of light and power transmission lines which do indeed transmit information.

We are only just learning the language of the stars.

*According to pre-Hellenic myth, the Age of Gemini (approx 6000 BC) was considered the ‘Golden Age’, Saturnia regna when Saturn/Kronos ruled. Following the Precession of the Equinoxes, each celestial Age lasts around 2200 years. More detail on successive ages here. In Mongolian myth the Age of Gemini signaled a time when ‘heaven and earth separated’ and fire was born. In other words, before the ecliptic and celestial equator fell apart (and the equinoxes started to precess), there was no fire. It was ‘given by heaven’ in the Golden Age of the Twins. 8000 years on, we entered the Age of Aquarius on February 14, 2009.

Galactic Underworld and Venus Rising

December 5, 2010

Venus's Heliacal Rising, November 2010: her return from the Underworld

Something in between dreaming and doing
Something arching down from there to here
We are the arching
We are neither here nor there
We are the hope that lives between
The continual blooming outward and upward
of something we want
but cannot see

– Author unknown

On winter solstice this year, December 21st, the longest night in the northern hemisphere will be graced not only by a full moon but a total lunar eclipse at 8:14am GMT — 00:14am Pacific time.

It is a cosmic sign, a prelude to our annual rendezvous with Galactic Center — that dark patch in the Milky Way — when the Sun, including us, microscopic specks of energy clinging on to the plane of the ecliptic, all nine planets of our system as one, align with our Motherboard, the Creator-black-hole, call it what you will, in the middle of our Galaxy. Then, spiralling away one more time, we shall head off for another year of peripatetic searching through infinite realms of space until, two years from now, we return for that Great Meeting with Source prior to winter solstice 2012.

The Ancients always took note of appearances like this solstitial eclipse as they occurred at the cardinal points of the year (later on the same day, the Sun enters zodiac sign of Capricorn). In our 21st century world, I am not alone in thinking this heavenly sign — the apparent total annihilation of the moon’s disc — will probably go relatively unnoticed. Western minds filled with Christmas concerns, getting the car to start or catching the commute to work in snowy conditions, tend not to be looking skywards.

For the Maya, on the other hand, Mesoamerican life in the 9th century and later was an ongoing succession of cosmic appearances. They came in time cycles, each with a predictable quality. And their fascination with the night sky, like many prehistoric and classical cultures, allowed them to develop a deep knowledge of time which dwarfs our numerical western (Gregorian) system.

Time was seen as an evolution of human consciousness, split into Great Ages through which society would evolve. The Maya developed separate calendars for mathematical, ritual and functional purposes, but the great Long Count calendar which began in 3114BC and which comes full circle on winter solstice year-after-next is the one which has caught hold in our collective imagination as presaging the ‘End of Days‘.

For the Maya as well as for many other Ancients, celestial movement was at the root of astrology, theology, cosmology, history and social change. For them, the purpose of life was to understand sky rhythms that created time and to reflect in their culture the beauty and cosmic order seen in cyclical heavenly repetition.

‘It becomes clear….that the Maya always expected history to repeat itself’
Bruce Scofield, Signs of Time (1997)

Kukulkan, feathered serpent god of the Maya, Toltec and Aztec (Quetzalcoatl)

The Tzolkin, which is the oldest Mayan Calendar, repeats itself every nine months. The Long Count calendar’s 5124-year cycle with its so-callled end date of December 21, 2012 actually measures the precession of the equinoxes, the sun’s apparent motion through each of the twelve zodiac signs once in 25,920 years, but theoretically stretches to infinity. To give an idea of this precession cycle’s massive scale, it takes the Earth 72 years to move through one degree (1º/360º) of one zodiac sign.

West Acropolis of Yaxchilan (Maya: 'Green Stones') in Mexican state of Chiapas

There are carvings on the walls of a ruin at Palenque that give dates beyond AD4000. It is our modern short-sightedness that assumes, based on only one of the several Mayan calendars, that time stops at winter solstice, December 21st 2012. It is specifically this ending and new beginning chronicled in the Long Count Calendar which in New Age parlance is called the ‘dawning of the Age of Aquarius‘.

Documentation of this extremely long cycle was an amazing achievement for a culture whose belief in cycles of time had them keep astronomical records for 6000 generations, projecting forward and (20,000 years back) into a distant past. It is evident in the placement of some of their most sacred buildings that they saw purpose in heavenly movement.

Cosmology and religious icons were intimately intertwined.

While several pyramids and ballcourts at Tikal, Palenque and Chichen Itza are sited on extreme sun positions (solstices, equinoxes), the Governor’s Palace at Uxmal is precisely aligned to view the heliacal rising of Venus at its southernmost point in an 8-year cycle.

Whereas Megalithic and Egyptian complexes can sometimes be obscure or difficult to understand from our modern non-sky-viewing cultural perspective, (Newgrange and Stonehenge heelstone aligned on solstice sunrise, Aberdeenshire recumbent stone circles aligned on midwinter sunrise and midsummer moonset), the writings and hieroglyphs of the Maya are more easily understood as they can be compared easily with recent calculations of the same recorded astronomical cycles.

The ancient Maya left codices, systems of hieroglyphic recordings devised to include celestial sightings and predict events. The complexity with which these sightings and predictions are woven seamlessly into their entire culture is almost surreal.

Dresden Codex fragment, water-damaged in WWII, restored: shows Lunar series and Venus tables

One of these codices, the ‘Dresden Codex’ details an elaborate recreation of a cosmic environment which the ancient Maya believed regulated life. It contains an illuminated calendar recording observations of the planet Venus. Working with their solar Haab calendar and the separate sacred ritual Tzolkin, the Maya saw the heliacal rising of Venus, (Venus rising before the sun, visible in the east as a ‘morning star’) as a sign of resurrection of Light after Darkness, rebirth of a New Age. But its resurrection might also be seen as presaging evil, invoking wars, sparking conflict.

In Mayan mythology, the planet/goddess was inextricably linked with the sun and power of serpent god Kukulkan –his name means ‘one who emerges from the serpent-spirit’ or cosmic kundalini force. To the Maya the two bodies seemed conjoined, stand close to each other in the sky, never stray more than 47º apart.

Lamat: glyph for Venus as 'evening star'

Venus either follows the sun (when she appears as evening ‘star’, Lamat), hides behind the sun, descending into the Underworld, or reappears before the sun — her heliacal rising as a ‘morning star’, Ah-Chicum-Ek’. Seen in mythological context, their joining symbolized at times his masculine domination over female-desire-sexuality producing cultural balance, art and architectural beauty; at others (when she rides into the Underworld — below the horizon) her ability to wreak havoc on society. This warrior-goddess aspect of her femininity is not easily understood in our modern rush for ‘male’ pursuits in business, military dominion and political power. But it is this aspect of Venus which lingers in mythology and which is the natural, intuitive deep feminine of the mother consciousness which early patrilineal cultures (Hellenist Greece, Latin Rome, Judaism, pharaonic Egypt) wished to suppress. In examining the Venus cycles — particularly as they relate to upcoming 2012 date — we may be delightfully surprised to learn something ‘new’ which is very old.

According to observations made by the Maya, episodes of upheaval linked to the cyclical motion of the planet Venus play out as life-changing events.

Venus’s astronomical cycles are legendary.

Fascinated with sequences, periodicity and numbers, the Maya must have adored Venus. Not only does she disappear and reappear with amazing regularity, her luminescence is also measurable, on some clear nights actually capable of casting a shadow. They noticed that Venus travels faster round the sun than Earth, orbiting 2.6 times to Earth’s 1.6 orbits. Venus orbits the Sun 13 times in 8 years, passing between Earth and Sun 5 times until they return to that meeting point in the synodic cycle (synod = meeting place). Point of closest ‘meeting’ is called ‘inferior conjunction’, taken as the start of the cycle.

It is also when Venus cannot be seen from Earth because of the sun’s brilliance, but as she continues to orbit, not only does she appear to go into ‘retrograde’ motion — a phenomenon caused by both bodies in orbit passing each other at different speeds — but she suddenly becomes visible again at greatest brilliance. Five Venus cycles of 548 days exactly equals 8 Earth cycles of 365 days — 8 Earth years — to bring both planets back in line to synodic point. When Venus is on the opposite side of the Sun its position is called ‘superior conjunction’ and has weakest brilliance. In between Venus appears to stretch to ‘extreme elongation’ to either side of Earth. The Maya also noticed Venus’s ‘stages’ took exactly 36 days, or multiples of 36.

So, Venus reaches maximum brightness 36 days after inferior conjunction, traveling direct and in the morning sky; maximum elongation (Venus’s farthest distance from the Sun) occurs 36 days later; then at superior conjunction, 216 days after that (6 x 36 days) Venus is on the far side of the Sun and traveling at its fastest speed, about 1º15′ per day, but obscured by the Sun from Earth eyes. Thirty-six days after superior conjunction, when the Sun and Venus are about 10º zodiac degrees apart, Venus first appears in the evening sky, setting after the Sun. In evening star phase, maximum elongation happens 216 days after superior conjunction, with maximum brightness reached 36 days following maximum elongation; 36 days more bring her back to inferior conjunction (and retrograde motion). This calculable sky embrace between Venus and the Sun, their apparent duel for supremacy in brilliance, disappearing into the ‘Underworld’ and reappearance in reborn brilliance, must have delighted the Maya.

Venus's orbit and Earth's over an eight year cycle

Not only did they know every nuance of Venus’s synchronicty with Earth, but they figured that in a complete cycle of 8 years the two planets did a dance round the zodiac (and the Sun) which resembled a sacred pentagram. Some of their written motifs reflect this knowledge. It is no surprise, then, that they also knew when Venus made a double transit of the Sun, a phenomenon that occurs less than once per century.

To bring their supreme, detailed and laborious calculations into modern context, it is synchronous that in 2012, there will be two profound solar eclipses and a rare ‘transit of Venus’ on June 6th, when Venus will pass directly in front of the Sun from our Earth perspective. It forms a perfect alignment of Earth, Venus and Sun. Transits come in 8-year pairs, with the precursor to this transit seen in June 2004. Transits of Venus happen on average only twice every 121 years. The last transit of Venus occurred in 1874 and 1882, around the time of rediscovery of ancient Mayan sacred sites. The 2012 Venus transit completes the pair and the phenomenon will not recur until 2117 and 2125.

Their solar calculations are renowned, too, with a system of years split to reflect numbers 13 and 20 still used by present-day Maya and many devotees.

A prophecy is attached to each of the twenty year Katun cycles. Each cycle starts on the day of the Ancestors, Ajpu or Ahau as Ancestors are known to the Yucatec Maya. The first 20-year cycle starts with 11 Ahau.

The present cycle (see Underworlds, below) starting on a 4 Ahau date began in 1999 and completes in 2012.

The Maya thought this katun brought scarcity and the arrival of great leaders. It is also the katun of remembering knowledge and writing it down.

4 Ahau: Food scarcities. Half the katun good, half bad. The return of Kukulkan

Kukulkan, depicted in the ancient Classical period as Divine Serpent, at Maya city Yaxchilan, modern Mexico

Legend of Kukulkan, Plumed Serpent god of the Maya, shares prophecy with the Aztec legend of Quetzalcoatl, known as Feathered Serpent, god of intelligence and self-reflection.

Serpent god Kukulkan in more recent Maya tradition

In the Mayan version of the legend the king and his court had descended into weakness and debauchery. He decided to redeem himself by sailing out into the ocean alone on a flaming boat. The gods forgave him and he was reborn. He came back to the Maya on a vessel from ‘across the waters’.

This Katun prediction implies that a great hero will come from across the waters to heal the problems of the people. It was during one of the 4 Ahau time periods, between 1480 and 1500 that Christopher Columbus came to the continent of the Americas from across the waters.

Chichen Itza
Although Kukulkan was mentioned as an historical person by Maya writers of the 16th century, earlier 9th century texts at Chichen Itza do not identify him as human and instead artistic representations depict him as a Vision Serpent entwined around figures of presiding priests. Chichen Itza’s famous step pyramid, El Castillo, shows Kukulkan depicted presiding over sacrifice, but the magnificent pyramid

Serpent god seen undulating down the staircase on fall Equinox at Chichen Itza

is most famous for his serpentine ‘appearance’ via the sun, which on the equinoxes (March 21, September 23) casts a serpent shadow that descends the steps of the famous pyramid’s north side in the late afternoon before fall equinoctial sunset and ascends its serpentine undulation prior to spring equinox sunset.

The living Maya still hold ceremony to celebrate equinox.

At autumn equinox this year Carl Johan Calleman called for a convergence to prepare ourselves for Unity Consciousness, our renewal as a species.

As the seventh day of the Galactic Underworld is activated we will actually finally come to a point when it is time to celebrate the end to male, western and rational dominance and to create a balance between the different aspects of the human mind associated with the left and right brain halves
Carl Johan Calleman

He suggested that, beginning November 3-7, 2010 (‘Yellow Galactic Seed’ Tzolkin date) careful contemplation of the Shift of the Ages and an awareness of our position in affecting the way we move forward will facilitate the dawning of the last step in our evolution. Seeing all of Creation from 3114BC divided into nine ‘Underworlds’ of ever-decreasing length, Dr Calleman (and others) agree with Mayan calculation that in that week in November we emerged from the last ‘night’ of the penultimate phase –the eighth Galactic Underworld which began January 1999, consisting of a wave-cycle of six fluctuating ‘days’ and ‘nights’– and that we now stand in the seventh ‘day’ of that wave, preparing to enter the final Universal Underworld, the Ninth Wave, in February next year. That is only two months from now. In that final cycle of existence, according to the Maya — and to thousands of believers of other faiths around the world — we are capable of manifesting ‘one thousand years of peace and harmony’ on our shared planet.

On that weekend of Yellow Galactic Seed in November — coincidentally when Venus’s heliacal rising returned her to our skies as an ‘morning star’, the leaders of nations representing East and West on Earth held separate but spiritually-cohesive celebrations and ceremonies to invoke peace on earth and a joining of minds. In the West, Don Alejandro Oxlaj, 13th Generation Quiche Mayan High Priest — ‘Wandering Wolf’ — and Buddhist spiritual leader of the Orient, Seiyu Kiriyama, joined their flocks in mutual meditation, flooding the airwaves and ethers with positive affirmation. Calleman saw this not only as the meeting of West and East but a mingling of the feminine, intuitive right-brain half of humanity with the masculine, rational left-brain side.

Unity Consciousness. Our ‘Awakening’.

New Age philosophy and astrology support a path to ascension required of its vision-keepers, lightworkers (through meditation and right living) as a process of uniting these two conflicting polarities, emphasizing the need to bring harmony to the male-female yin-yang, left and right brain hemispheres which must operate before the Earth may return to a balanced state of wholeness and oneness.

As a small postscript, or just to keep us on our toes, Mayan Elder Don Alejandro has suggested that shortly after the solar system’s 2012 re-alignment with Galactic Center — when our sun and all planets are conjunct the dark ridge in the middle of our Galaxy, the Milky Way —

Earth will “pass inside the center of a magnetic axis and that it may be darkened with a great cloud for 60 to 70 hours”
Don Alejandro Oxlaj

To some Mayan scholars, in a continuing calendar the doom-and-gloom scenario is far more likely to play itself out, not in 2012, but around the year 2032.

Several other events are in the lineup for 2012:
May 4 partial lunar eclipse off Mexico
May 14 1st standstill Venus during retrograde loop
May 20 annular eclipse of Sun
June 6 transit of Venus (above) and Inferior Conjunction
November 13 2012 total solar eclipse in which sun and moon align with head of the Serpent (constellation Serpens)
November 18 Solar system conjunct dark ridge Galactic Center
Nov 28 partial (penumbral) lunar eclipse

We know our future is in our own hands. This is seen by believers with faith in Man’s ability to transcend his inglorious past as positive, glorious rebirth, awakening, resurrection of our soul, our apotheosis, potential to become one with the gods. The opposite is also true –especially if we continue to contribute to the misuse of energy, pollute and dissipate earthly gifts.

As we know, cycles exist to show choices in the Path: overall the future is golden. Venus’s malevolence may only be a wayshower to direct us away from a mistaken ‘Way’. The future, in the form of the Ninth Wave, is upon us — all the heavenly signs say so — and it’s up to us to embrace it.

Equinox Ascension Button:Depress to Activate

September 18, 2010

Ascension button, Whitefield Hill. Like most cropcircles, the Mandala invites us in with its energy. In focusing on the beauty, we transform ourselves

Equinox is only days away. The leaves are turning. A storm is brewing. The Earth prepares as the hinges on the door of another season swing shut. This doorway to autumn in the northern hemisphere is heralded by a whole slew of heavenly bodies lined up and waiting to shepherd us through. After all, as one door swings shut, another opens and we have little more than 800 days to go before the Calendar of the Ancients — embodied in the Tzolkin Long Count of the Maya — says we reach Transfiguration.

Is it possible, we ask, to create our own Apotheosis? are we capable of reaching out from the depths of the mire in which we have entrenched ourselves on Earth to hold hands with the Divine? become gods ourselves? All the prophesies say yes. We are told to watch the heavens for signs. So, watchers we have become.

There have been warnings: a couple of planetary tight corners — 2010’s T-squares and Full Moon in June’s Grand Cross — squeezing our world and our communal psyche into a place of no retreat.

But if you thought you were just going to puddle along over the next couple of months, couple of years, and it would all fall into place? That ‘somebody else’ had it in hand and we’d muddle through somehow? Then, there’s more thinking to be done.

Some people still question why we should even listen at all to the voice of the Ancestors: those revered traditions handed down over millennia on all continents through civilization’s records and archives and oral tradition. What did they know of 21st century life? How could they possibly help us rise from a world of racial, religious, financial and nutritional inequality — not to mention bombardment by media-manipulated fears — and become one tight-knit community, one homogeneous being? These are high concepts; tough hurdles for humankind to leap.

It’s probably for that reason that the ancestors have been hanging around lately, giving us a little more immediate help and encouragement, sending us little signs… like those in summer fields of shining corn.

All ancient wisdom declares we are not alone; that we have only to ask for help and it will come. There must have been a lot of people asking lately, because the messages have been coming in thicker and faster! 2010 season’s crop circles have proved to be our most challenging yet.

They brought us dimensions beyond those we’re accustomed to thinking in, sacred geometry and energy vortices and power places known to all previous civilizations, but somehow ‘lost’ to our own; magical light orbs and mysterious high-pitched sound accompanying the formation of a circle or even group meditative ‘requests’ for such a crop appearance. 2010 has consolidated and convinced a far-reaching cult of believers who now no longer care to look back at the world we left only yesterday.

2010 has also created — outside the crop circle sphere — a coming-together of Earth-loving communities all round the world. No longer do the meek hover unheard while business corporations haggle over responsibility for destruction. The Gulf of Mexico event took care of that. Depleting earth’s precious species and resources is neither politically correct nor tolerated. Even the Rich List themselves have taken to the waters to redress the balance.

There is indeed an awakening of the world mind — a tangible creative move to choose life over death, kindness over greed, healing over repression, and compassion over power. We just have to look carefully to find it: not on smog-ridden highways or in high-rise metal offices perhaps, but in the miraculous and ever-evolving daily life of small villages, volunteer children’s creches and around organic farmers’ market stalls.

Ric O'Barry's EarthIsland has done much to highlight humanity's vital connection with the dolphin world

Huge pressure is now being put on so-called ‘fish’ marketing interests in Japan and the Solomon Islands by dolphin and whale support groups like GreenPeace and EarthIsland, to bring to world awareness the crucial connection between Man and the Cetacean. They believe not only should the barbaric slaughter of such mammalians stop, but that this highly intelligent species might have something in their great communicative awareness to teach us humans.

American Gray Wolf returned to protected status in the Northern Rockies

In San Luis Valley in Colorado the whole community participates in an energy collective derived from solar generators which make the commuity self sufficient. It’s also home to Shaman and Sioux-Salish Elder Kiesha Crowther who founded its SRV Wildlife & Endangered Species Rescue Center which now has a strong voice within the USA on the protection of animals on the endangered list.

A flawed piece of legislation initiated during the Bush administration allowing Northern Rockies (endangered) wolves to be slaughtered wholesale, has recently been revoked, restoring the American Gray Wolf to protected status. Mother Earth is starting to smile again.

Longcount dates in 2011 and 2012

Like Kiesha Crowther, Barbara Hand Clow is a shaman, gifted teacher of the intuitive arts, an Elder of the Maya, Cherokee Record Keeper, and she shares wisdom from a wide range of researchers and Medicine People. Like one of her mentors, Swedish biologist Carl Johan Calleman, she sees the Great Underworlds of the Tzolkin calculus as a means to understanding human evolution — towards our ultimate reconnection through our intuitive senses with the Divine. Evolution rapidly nears its zenith: ascension/transcendance at our final gate. As each Age is ten times briefer than its predecessor, time appears to speed up, learning accelerates, human beings evolve at an unprecedented rate. Both she and Calleman place enormous importance on the August 1987 Harmonic Convergence whose spectacular planetary alignments presaged the final 25 years of the Tzolkin Count. We entered the Sixth Night of the Galactic Wave Cycle on 09/09/09 and will emerge from it on November 2nd this year.

Extreme pressure for deep change came to the surface during the cardinal T-squares of the major planets in June and August and a final flurry of this configuration commands human attention now, as we near Autumn Equinox. While the pressure may be easing, it’s not over yet. We are about to experience the final throes of the technological age of the Galactic Underworld when Day Seven opens November 2nd 2010 —Yellow Galactic Seed — and it becomes apparent that nothing will stop the rollercoaster of change now spinning ordinary life out of control. Fall Equinox requires our trust and belief that there is cosmic Design behind such change.

Clow borrows Calleman’s elaborate reconstruction of the intricate Mayan calendar to discern an interweaving of patterns, frequencies, tones that build upon themselves like a fractal symphonic chord which reaches crescendo in 2011/2012.

She suggests that time acceleration is occurring and that we have already begun to feel a quickening of the energy around us.

‘You’ve been recreating yourself since 1999 when the Galactic Underworld opened,’ she says, ‘and now you are ready to become a Cosmic Being on Earth.’

Both believe we shall reach this ultimate goal in consciousness a year early — on October 28th 2011, to be exact. That’s only 405 days from now.

Heavenly bodies are appearing in our skies which seem to confirm the ancient prediction of nine ‘appearances’ or energies which accompany the End Times. The first of these — the dramatic return of sacred serpent god Quetzalcoatl — happened at the final moment of ceremony as 40,000 people welcomed spring equinox 1989 at Chichen Itza. At the exact instant of sunset and full moonrise, asteroid 1989-A zoomed over the crowd and plunged into the ocean off the Yucatan peninsula. Astronomers were unprepared for the happening, but the Maya were not!

Now we begin to see further signs — the light spiral over Tromsø, Norway last December during the Obama Nobel Peace Prize presentation may be another. The heavens have their own way of sigaling changes in energy, influence and human events.

Immanuel Velikovsky, in his posthumously published (1982) book Mankind in Amnesia, wrote that mankind has suppressed memories of cosmic catastrophes, Noah’s flood, possibly even the extinction of the dinosaurs: essentially we were wounded in our separation from Source. And until we clear our ‘injury’ and heal ourselves, we are doomed to play out with wars, genocides and mass murders much like a mental patient plays out suppressed rape or abuse trauma with anti-social behavior.

Calleman believes western concept of time cannot accommodate the phenomenon of evolution or creation. That our linear (Gregorian) view sees time as an endless repetition of cycles with no beginning and no end. With such limited perspective, humanity seems not to be going anywhere, life has little purpose. He sees the consequences of such an attitude in the environmental rape of our planet. The Tzolkin itself is a pattern for the unfolding of creative energy rather than a numerical calendar.

‘I believe through study and use of the Tun-based calendrical system [of the Maya] we may develop an awareness of consciousness, a meta-consciousness, which will allow us to understand factors underlying the evolution of our spiritual process and evolution of the universe.’

Kiesha Crowther believes Enlightenment comes as we express love in word and deed; rejoin in oneness with Nature. And to evolve to the next level, our species must reach enlightenment. Calleman, Clow and Crowther all agree it is time to end our separation from Nature.

Chart for Equinox

This is the chart for NOW. In five days, at midnight on equinox (September 22/23, 2010), the Sun will stand at the top of the chart at cusp Virgo/0ºLibra with the full Moon moving to stand directly opposite at 0ºAries: Grand Cross elements resurface

The fall equinox chart is potent with symbolism. First, and most powerful, the 0º00 Libra Sun squares Pluto in Capricorn at 0º41. A Sun-Pluto square packs punch. The full moon phase at this dying of the year — our climaxes and harvest — with Pluto in the mix — gives potential for destruction, disintegration, elimination on the world stage. While Pluto’s destructive power is for good — symbolic death leading to rebirth — this destruction opens the door to regeneration and transformation. Power play between patriarchal rule (Pluto in Capricorn) and the people, and between masculine and feminine archetypes everywhere will be noticeable.

This is powerful stuff. We reap what we sow, so anything sown that smells of corruption, power/over, power/under dynamics can and will come to light in this cycle!

A significant aspect in the chart is Mercury conjunct Saturn in Virgo — only 33 minutes apart. Actual conjunction occurs earlier that day at 2:08am, so at equinoctial point it is very potent. Mercury symbolizes the conscious mind and has just moved from retrograde (where action is internal, introverted and intuitive) to direct. In Virgo, one of the two signs Mercury rules, his review process covers the territory of self-mastery, service, and mind/body connection.

And because Saturn and Mercury are conjunct, Father Time, Lord of Karma and the celestial messenger act to bring into our consciousness all the tools we need to solidify, restructure, ground us and birth this new awareness into reality. Pluto also turned direct on September 13th. Its influence now has great strength.

This Full Moon in Aries with Sun in last degree of Virgo signals the beginning of the final phase of our emergence into Nature. With Neptune holding us in divine embrace in Aquarius, this lunation is the seed that plants us as vessels of cosmic light, in a spiritual alchemy.

This alchemical seed bears wild fruit during the Aries Full Moon on September 23, a few hours after the moment of Equinox, when the Full Moon stands conjunct Jupiter and Uranus in Aries opposite the Sun and Saturn in Libra, while T-squaring Pluto in Capricorn! The Full Moon actually detonates the T-square. These aspects will germinate our species into the Cosmos. Pluto is powerful and the god of the Underworld will, in the words of astrologer Robert Wilkinson show us how to use the polarities of Will and Love, Mind and Heart, in an alternating manner to achieve a form of mastery.

‘If we can confront what needs to be uncaged, we can find an enormous power and wisdom which our inner Elder can teach our inner Child.’

Shaman Kiesha Crowther in her own beautiful Nature-connected way — while accepting that the end of the Mayan Calendar looms — agrees that it’s more about each person moving back into proportional relationship with Nature and our role as EarthKeepers.

‘Specifically, how do the people of Mother Earth join together their hearts and minds to create a change?

‘The answer lies with each and every one of us doing our part, with our own hearts, moving forward as individuals in our own abilities — to grow our hearts larger and love and live with kindness and consciousness.

‘When we live from our hearts our consciousness grows and we become the true loving beings we are meant to be.

‘We all have an ability to share our love with others and to gather our friends and family together to meditate, to pray, to learn how to run energy, how to listen and feel what Mother Earth is saying and feeling.

‘The council is asking us to share what we know from our hearts and be the best we can be as loving human beings — this is what will change our realities.

‘Go inside yourself and live and love and remember what a great being you really are and that Mother Earth is alive and loves you, and that whatever you do to her you do to yourselves.’

Little Grandmother‘s message is one of love and enlightenment and a belief that we can all do this together. There are no structures to set up, no teachers guiding others, no hierarchy. The Tribe of Many Colors is not an organization. Rather it embodies a group of people with a single goal: to live from the heart and to love our Mother Earth and each other. Her Tribe of Many Colors can change the world.

In the summer of 2010 Kiesha Crowther visited Scandinavia where she embedded a special crystal to anchor earth’s electromagnetic grid. She and the Elders have been re-energizing the Earth Grid by placing crystals at strategic Power points where Earth’s electromagnetic energy focuses.

‘The Tribe of Many Colors has been prophesied to come for a very long time and now the time is upon us. All we need to do is to go to Nature, to the Source, and fill ourselves up with that tremendous love that is out there for us, just as we are. It does not matter if you are ever recognized by the world for what you are doing—you are a divine spark, the Great I AM, here to kindle your light, recognize the brilliance that you are, just as you are.’

Inkeeping with this sentiment, but within a complex array of symbolism that unites light, sound, the Golden Mean spiral and quantum physics, Clow explains in her Alchemy of the Nine Dimensions (2004) the phenomenon we call crop circles is advancing in complexity as we as a species advance. She calls the energy — ‘great tubes of light’ — which creates formations ‘benign’, but one which keeps us on our toes, keeps us learning, stays always just one step ahead of us.

‘Since the same geometry can easily be seen in shells and in skeletons, no one should be surprised. The visibility of these tubes of light and the numerous spirals in crop circles are analogs to the visibility of spirals in nature. Materialization occurs by the spin or motion of spirals, and the crop circles are material things. Once the great force is drawn down to Earth, tubes of light imprint a crop circle where it enters a plane — the field crop — where 2D interfaces with the curvature of the surface. The actual circle is made in seconds. Scientists are penetrating the deeper mysteries of the Golden Mean these days, as the Circlemakers are constructing ever-more complex expressions of it.’

At its simplest level of perception, this crop circle says: 'communication'

The story of our awakening to Galactic Mind is complex and is perhaps best understood by studying crop circles b
at&t

but it may be a warning that communications we take for granted are about to be disrupted by the Sun

ecause the symbols appear to integrate many worlds, many Ages of Man, many cultures.

One might ask, since so much emphasis is placed on End Times fixed by the Tzolkin calendar, why are crop circles not appearing in Mexico?

Clow answers that, too. Shockingly, she says ‘the central vortex of patriarchal ignorance is located in England, while the Mexican people already know what is coming.’

On a geomantic level, Wessex — that great chalk aquifer of Salisbury Plain — is one of the largest on earth. It has a very low magnetic field and is therefore the world’s best conductor of electricity. In an electromagnetic dimension, it was ideal for constructing stone circles (whose great neolithic rock-crystals still stand embedded in the earth) and it is therefore perfect for weaving electrical current in waves of grain.

We are being fine-tuned for our return to Source. And the Ancestors are shouting encouragement from the grandstand. Perhaps it’s time to speed up the activation process ourselves: to tune ourselves in to the Great Spirit with conscious intent. For this, Blossom Goodchild, who channels instruction from the Federation of Light, has this to say:

Royal Throne and coronation chair in the Palace of Westminster, London

Imagine yourself sitting in a large ornate chair with armrests. Visualise yourself firmly within this ‘throne’. Feel comfortable. Any anxiety you may experience is simply the heart’s preparation for what’s to come.

Imagine that on the armrests where your hands are placed are metallic finger plates for each digit of each hand. Lay your fingertips gently on the activation plates.

Resume position. You feel these plates are magnetised to energy points within your fingers and at the back of your neck. You can feel the tingling. As you watch, you see we are adding plates down through the back of the chair, aligning with your chakras. Yet you only see four, evenly spaced. This is correct.

You are being activated. You are tuning into the power of the Cosmos.

Blossom Goodchild’s Instruction from the Lightbeings

Equinox can be used as a trigger, but however you want to do it, now would be a good time to start. Rather than pressing the channel button on your television set, how about activating the ascension button instead?

One Thousand Days from Equinox

March 20, 2010

Galactic Butterfly: Mayan symbol for all Consciousness that ever existed in our Galaxy

On 09:09:09, September 9th, 2009 our Gregorian calendar coincided with the ancient sacred Tzolkin Calendar of the Maya at the beginning of a new count cycle of 260 days which had the energy called Hun Imix or alternately, 1 Alligator. It was a prelude to our initiation into the last of Nine sacred Levels of Existence, according to their reckoning of Man’s evolution through time and space.

On November 7th, 2009 we entered the sixth Night of the Galactic Wave cycle of the Maya, from which we will emerge almost a year to the day on November 2, 2010 (Yellow Galactic Seed). We as a species are heading towards the last of Nine Underworlds which started with the Beginning of Creation and whose eighth phase, the Galactic Underworld in which we find ourselves now, began on January 5th, 1999.

Nine Underworlds of the Maya, superimposed on the Great Pyramid of Tikal

We shall enter the final Mayan Underworld, the Universal Underworld, on February 10th, 2011. It is the shortest in duration and lasts only 100 days. That cycle comes to an end on October 28th, 2011, by which time we shall all have reached our full spiritual capability as co-creators with the divine spark within us and, if we choose, start to manifest in our lives ‘one thousand years of peace and harmony’.

It is almost an afterthought that the Calendar of the Maya continues until its climax at the end of their 13 Baktun Great Cycle on December 21, 2012.

On that date of winter solstice our Milky Way galaxy, and we on Earth orbiting the Sun, will come into that rare alignment with the Galactic Equator that happens only once in 26,000 years.

Give or take a couple of days in our modern calendar count, as of this equinox weekend, we have one thousand days to go in the Time Spiral until winter solstice 2012.

It’s not the end of the World. It’s just the beginning.

Galactic Wave Cycles of Night and Day, courtesy Carl Johann Calleman, PhD

According to born-again Maya researcher and self-professed sacred geometer, Ian Xel Lungold, who died prematurely in November 2005, the calendar of the Maya is a ‘portal to intuition.’ And because their civilization valued for over 3000 years the natural cycles and worked with a sensitivity to organic relationship with the Earth, he is convinced their calendar was a kind of roadmap to Creation’s ‘intention’ for us, her children.

One day, in trying to figure the recurring pattern within the Calendar of numbers 13 and 20 – or Creation’s Fibonacci sequence of one third and two thirds – he made an intuitive connection. ‘There was no logical reason for me to make this intuitive leap, but when I did, a deep connection was made to something that I believe we are all attempting to understand: there is a pattern running through Creation—a hologram—and understanding how we each create within this pattern from outside it, is our key to ultimate freedom.’

Recently, Gregg Braden discovered within ancient (Old World) texts a ‘code’ replicated inside our own DNA. Dr Johann Calleman has studied texts from (New World) Tikal and Tortuguero which announce the appearance of nine deities or divine ‘energies’ who will come at the End of Time. Robert Sitler, a lifetime student of Maya mythology and culture believes the end of time – according to Maya texts – will manifest ‘the quetzal (green bird) comes; He of the Yellow Tree comes; blood-vomit comes.’

Lungold believes it’s not going to be as bad as it’s painted. That we are given through number and ‘cosmic forces’ a blueprint for our own ascension – which might happen well before that end-date.

He describes each of us as a ‘shaman’ who, as we develop our own intuitive capabilities, shall ‘feel and understand the field of Creation and be able to alter the mechanics of it using our heart and inner guidance.’

He was never one to see the ‘doom and gloom’ of 2012, as have, for example, media, threatened businesses and bureaucracies, politicians with a vested interest in dumbing down rather than allowing others to reach for their dreams.

Lungold studied other societies, gathered wisdom as he went and shared his blessings.

He liked the advice the Hopi give:

[1] know where your food and water comes from; and
[2] know all your relatives.

He did advise having caution in the last wave of ‘Nights’ before the ending of a Cycle, because Fifth and Sixth Nights of previous Cycles have been fraught with wars and cultural clashes. WWI and WWII and the Dark Ages occurred during such Nights.

His focus, however, is on the Light: that in this last and briefest of all worldly Ages, ‘the coming trial for humanity will be less severe’, because overall we’re beginning to learn new ways and he sees things getting better.

Paying attention and having intention will be key factors. If you can’t imagine a dream, envisage a future for yourself, then you have no future. When you’re centered in your intuition and following your guidance, Lungold suggests, you’re actuallly creating your own future.

We all know how, when we are absorbed, lost, in doing something we love – a walk in the spring sunshine, creating a painting or tapestry, planting a shrub in a new position, playing make-believe with a beloved child – that magical things happen. With mental censor diverted, our inner child, our Creator, has free rein. ‘Instant manifestation’ is the New Age term for being so much in the ‘Now’ that there is no space to think; kindness to strangers, treating others as we ourselves wish to be treated, going with the flow will, according to Lungold, become the norm.

And, because everybody’s doing it, and Unity Consciousness increases and proliferates, there manifests a transformation of consciousness in humanity and in all our lives.

Medical science confirms the whole brain lights up and every cell is activated when we reach this point of bliss. Athletes and sportsmen call it ‘the Zone’, musicians the ‘spook’, the beingness or ‘no-mind’ found during meditation. It’s set to become an everyday occurrence for all of us – or, for those few who remain in denial or cannot face the concept of a world without anger, frustration, money-worries, debt or intrigue – translation to another plane of existence. It’s rather like the idea in our grandparents’ heyday when a child was taught to be good so he could ‘go to heaven’.

Now we don’t have to wait: heaven’s gate is on our doorstep.

Following December's Light Spiral over Norway, a spiral Aurora in March 2010

It’s not just a matter of belief for a few inspired Maya experts. The signs are in crop circles, they appear in the heavens: exactly as foretold in all the ancient texts.

Civilization has always used a calendar as its kingpin: time and consciousness revolve around it: The Tzolkin Calendar of the Maya was based on the same six-Nights-seven-Days cycle of wisdom which the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia imparted to the Judaic creators of Genesis. It is the same Arc of Evolution which began in this Galaxy 16.4 billion years ago.

It seems a fitting calculation, a comforting closure, in our world of chaos – in these present End Times – that that incredible arc will reach its zenith in one thousand days.
