Canticle for a Lost Nation—Unlocking Ancient Interlace Woven into Cultural Myth

CANTICLE FOR A LOST NATION
Unlocking the Ancient Interlace woven into Cultural Myth

For a nation proud of its heritage, its oral tradition and roots–supported by faithful descendants in all corners of the globe–we Brittonic Scots are remarkably careless with it. In part this stems from a history of being conquered. But suppressed belief and myth have a way of being treasured: a precious relic to be hidden from secular eyes.

Twenty-first century culture today celebrates fifth-century Brittonic peripatetic monk, Patrick who ‘brought the Church’ to Ireland. They wave shamrocks, hold parades and declare green themes in diverse locales through New York, L.A., Dublin and Hounslow. Rio de Janeiro and Boston, too.

A little background may be in order.

Britannia was an island of subdued people, glad to be abandoned in AD420 when the Romans walked out, left to themselves in a rich land with its own ancient culture.

Many great historical documents have been lost in intervening centuries of ‘acquisition’ or political manipulation by other races since Patrick’s time. He preached when sacred secret knowledge of the Dark Age was kept dark–maintained in recesses of the cultural mind, secrets rehearsed in saga and song–known in the historic Pictish era–to all.

Brittonic Patrick sent as a Slave to Ireland

Illuminated Chi Rho Gk. first letters of name of Christ in A.D. 8thC Celtic gospel Book of Kells, held Trinity College, Dublin

Ninth-century church annals, the Book of Armagh, includes a work by Patrick, his Confessio, in which he describes his life at a Roman villa in Britain, his capture by Irish raiders, and his seven years of slavery in Ireland.

Recovering his freedom, he returned to Roman Britain, recording that he was educated and ordained into the priesthood. He eventually succeeded in being sent as a missionary back to Ireland. He concentrated on the north and west of the country, achieving strong connections.

Patrick never claimed to have converted all of Ireland. But tradition has it that his mission began around A.D. 432. It was C.7th biographers Tirechán and Muirchú who credited him with converting ‘all the Irish to Christianity’ and won for him the status of national apostle.

Confused chronology in Patrick’s life came about when tradition merged the work of two monks—continental Palladius and (‘Irish’) Patrick of the Confessio.

There is not enough evidence to support traditional date, A.D.432, for the start of his mission, but a date of 492/493 is given for his death in Annals and biographies.

Little is known of the first impact of Christianity in Ireland. Traditions in the south and southeast refer to early saints who allegedly preceded St. Patrick, whose missions may have come through trading within the Roman Empire. The earliest date is A.D.431, when St. Germanus, Bishop of Auxerre in Gaul, with the approval of Pope Celestine I, proposed to send ‘Palladius to the Scots believing in Christ.’

After that, missionary history in Ireland is dominated by St. Patrick.

Caledonians Unsubjugated, Rome Withdraws
By A.D.368, just thirty years before Roman withdrawal from Britain, Ammianus Marcellinus describes tribes of the Priteni [Picts] split into two by the Mounth: northern Dicalydones and Verturiones in the south. To Roman authors, Priteni-Britanni were linguistically just another people of Prydein. By the post-Roman Dark Age, Caledonians had re-possessed their northern forests, the Fortriu people their rich lands of Perth and Fife.

Although Scots history is still untaught in schools, few deny knowing that Kenneth mac Alpin, c.AD843, united the kingdoms of Picts and Scots. Fewer seem aware that his dynasty–so bold and so desperate for fertile plains–carefully perpetuated the title of those he deposed, calling themselves Kings of Picts for another sixty years.

Alongside Pictish lands they annexed Pictish Law–a remarkable piece of diplomacy which survives in the basis of Scots law today.

Between the fifth and seventh centuries, the great forests of the Northeast were the domain of kings–Stocket, Kintore, Deer–a resource which ensured royal entertainment [the boar hunt] and feasts [deer and lesser animals] for warriors and entire communities, as well as wealth of timber and grain.

While none but the lordly burned wood in the fireplace of the great hall–most people cast peat for fuel–bounty of the forest—kindling—was available to all. This convention remains today in the understanding between tenant farmer and landowner/laird that while he may not cut down the laird’s trees, all windfall is his.

At least two royal strongholds survive.

These are not small domains like those confirmed in later medieval charters to royal burghs, but whole estates crowned by forests, nourished by rivers and centered round the ‘castle-hill’ [Brit.caer] of a noble family: in the south the Kingdom of Fife points to the king’s mound–Cinrimonaid, St.Andrews—made famous by Constantin king of Picts [789-820]; in the north the Kingdom of Forgue has its Place of Ferendracht–‘place’ in old Scots indicating a ‘peel’ or fortified mound of the heroic age.

There are others.

A.D.5th century pre-Christian Pictish carved stones in Aberdeenshire heartland Romans couldn’t sudue

In the North, earliest placenames give fairly good timelines, where the castle-hill [Brit/Pict. caer, castell] usually denotes early-historic occupation of the pre-Scotic Pictish period, like Kintore, Inverurie, with attendant royal chapels [Lat. capella, Welsh/Brit. eglys]-in the Northeast often seen in telltale ‘chapelton’ within ancient church boundaries, but separate from the later parish church. Compare rath/roth element at Rathmurriel, Rothney in Insch, which derive from 12th century settlements, like Flemings [Flinders] at Leslie.

Second early element Brit. eglys, easily identified south of the Mounth like Ecclesgreig in Mearns, ‘church of Giric’, is more elusive farther north, but does occur. There is one on the Banff coast–conveniently close to Pictish stronghold Dundarg–Strahanglis Point, ‘point of the valley of the church’.

Another clue to Pictish Christian foundations is the presence of a circular enclosed burial ground, like the one at Deskford within the precinct of the medieval laird’s Tower. At Fordyce on the North (Banff) Coast where remains of a Pictish tower dedicated to St. Talorcan stand, there is another. At Tullich-Aboyne one remains where the former church was dedicated to St. Nathalan, [d.679].

Language survival of Pictish Doric in Aberdeen
There are delightfully archaic, short, stubby single-syllable names in the language too, to satisfy our yearning for earliest beginnings.

It helps to remember that the parish system, discarded by modern mapmakers, transmits a clear layout of medieval churchlands, themselves descended from earlier chapels attached to Pictish strongholds.

By the seventh century, Pictish kings were fully Christian, educated from youth in the cultural milieu of a monastery. In the centuries before Gaelic became a court language, it was the language of the Northern Irish Scot [Americans have a convenient term for these Ulstermen: Scots-Irish]. More significantly, it was the language of Irish monastics, keepers of annals, copiers of sacred texts, educators of the nobility.

It is no accident that Iona came into prominence following the ministries of saints like Columba [d.597] and Adamnán [d.704].

The Church was common education for young nobles of ‘all four peoples’ of Britain, according to Northumbrian cleric Bede, writing at the end of the seventh century–Angles, Britons, Picts and Scots. By 690, there was a long tradition of wandering British monks, educated in the Irish church, returning to convert the peoples of their homeland.

Patrick, interestingly, is one of the few Britons who took the Christian message to Ireland [mid-fifth century].

Four apostles in simple illuminated manuscript endpages of Book of Deer, Aberdeenshire, c.f. Book of Kells below

British Ninian, d. c.432, founder of Whithorn in Galloway, is credited with inspiring several Pictish clerics of Northeast tradition. Drostan, Medan and Colm are sixth century saints, giving their names to foundations at Deer/Insch, Pitmedden/Fintray on Donside and St.Coombs in Banff.

Finnian and Brendan, both mid-sixth-century travelers, spread the word and their names to churches planted throughout Pictland; Brendan, known as the wanderer, did his conversions by sea; his name in Banffshire is Brandan or Brangan where his dedications run along the North Coast.

Ethernan patron of Rathen in Buchan died, according to Irish annals, in 669 ‘among the Picts’. He is patron of Kinnernie (Donside) and Banchory-Ternan (Deeside) [contra Brev.Ab where he is called St.Ternanus].

Illuminated apostles: 10thC Iona Book of Kells, now in Trinity College, Dublin shows Matthew as Man, Mark winged Lion, Luke the surgeon as winged Bull and John as Eagle

A contemporary Briton celebrated in southern Pictavia was St. Serf whose dedication at Culsalmond is rare north of the Mounth. St.Sair’s Fair was held here near Colpy until well after the Reformation. His other foundation was at Monkeigy [Keithhall], now Inverurie.

Marnan, 7thC patron of Aberchirder-Marnoch and Leochel, Lumphanan was celebrated long after his death with Marnoch Fair, held traditionally on second Tuesday in March.

Recent research suggests that portable crosses–roughly circular stones like pillows carved with a simple cross and pre-dating the eighth century [class II] Pictish cross slabs were the hallmark of these holy men. They reach far and wide.

Fish-shape ogham carved on rear of Pictish stone at St Fergus Chapel, Dyce-Aberdeen hidden in mortar for 12 centuries

Such compact Christian amulets surface in Aberdeenshire, temptingly close to early foundations. Cross-inscribed stones—with no other ornament—appear at Aboyne, Afforsk, Banchory, Barra, Botriphnie, Bourtie, Clatt, Crathes, Culsalmond, Deer, Dyce, Ellon, Fintray, Inverurie, Kinnernie, Logie-Coldstone, Logie-Elphinstone, Monymusk, Ruthven and Tullich.

A saint’s well where converts were baptized invariably lies close to these foundations. After the patron died, their relics—ranging from pillows of stone to crozier and bell—were treasured by the community.

A Fintray legend persists that St. Medan’s head was kept—wrapped in beaten silver—until melted down to make a communion cup for the (reformed) kirk. The head of the saint was kept at Banchory where t’Ernan’s bell, the ‘Ronnecht’ did not survive the Reformation; t’Ernan was patron of Findon, Arbuthnot and Slains.

One further legacy is the former pagan alphabet—ogham—carved in stone, reintroduced by early pilgrims as means of explaining Christian doctrine to the illiterate. Few remain in the north [Newton, top and Dyce, left] but their clear fish-tail shape had meaning to a populace venerating the salmon, carved locally on pre-Christian Pictish [class I] symbol stones. To new converts it simultaneously represented the fish symbol of Christ, Gk. Ikthos.

Ogham served as (Christian) stopgap until the art of [class II] cross slabs appeared in the next century. These cross-carved monoliths heralded nationwide conversion under King Nechtan who was to drag his kingdom out of the Dark Age and shine the light of revelation into early medieval Europe.

Heavenly Maiden with Flowers in her Hair—Equinox 2017 cluster of planets in Virgo & Leo

Woodstock wound up the summer of flower power fifty years ago this month, cementing musical friendships and crashing through new sound barriers which are audible today. Many of those groundbreaking musicians continue to perform the circuit. David Crosby, James Taylor, Graham Nash and Joni Mitchell come to mind…they/we thought then we were creating a New World…

RECIPE FOR SURVIVAL IN THE END TIMES

Now a great sign appeared in heaven:
A woman clothed with the Sun, with the Moon under her feet,
And on her head a garland of twelve stars.
Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.
REVELATION 12:1-2

On September 23, 2017 an alignment which has been forming in the heavens all summer comes into sharp focus alongside the prediction of Revelation 12. As far as can be determined from computer models, this is the only time such a celestial sign will occur in history.

Strong solar wind and extra-large sunspots have brought early aurora borealis

It literally marks the Great Sign of Revelation prophesied to appear in the heavens. The woman clothed in stars is Virgo–the Virgin. The Sun appears to be ‘clothing Virgo’ and the Moon will lie under her feet on Equinox. The garland of twelve stars are the nine stars of Leo—including Regulus—plus three wandering ‘stars’ which have been approaching conjunction within Leo at this time—to make twelve. Those wandering ‘stars’ are planets Mercury, Venus and Mars. The last element of the Biblical sign is that the Virgin is with child. That planet—’star of the Messiah’—is Jupiter.

The Hajj—Saudi Arabia’s millions circling the Prophet’s sacred tomb in Mecca—in 2017 fell 3 weeks before Ramadan

During the months of August and September 2017, Jupiter rested in the womb of Virgo. Again, no replication of this sign has yet been found by researcher Mark Chiswell who scoured astronomical records for the last 7000 years.

The Sign of Revelation can be seen to represent the birth of Messiah from the Virgin of Israel, but Chiswell insists it be taken as an actual sign to be visible, seen by the masses as a way to understand the context of (post-Historic) times in which this significant event occurs.

“It happens within the timeline of the End of Days,” he says. That, too, was catalogued in Judaic scripture: Biblical prophecy says it will occur in correlation with the 70th Week of Daniel–the final period of seven years before Messiah comes to rule the planet.

Another solution may lie within Micah 5.

The proximity of this year’s August 21st total solar eclipse over North America relates closely to the Saudi Arabian Hajj, ten days later, above right, as well as the Revelation-12 Sign one month later, on September 23rd, 2017, Equinox. Rosh Hoshanah synchronously ends at dusk the night before.

The metaphor of an eclipsed America is not lost on world critics. But more significantly, the equinox date marks a coming together of three major world religions, as well as the culmination of an astronomical event which began nine months ago on November 20th, 2016, when Jupiter—the King planet—entered (retrograde) into the body of constellation Virgo.

Because of its retrograde motion, Jupiter spent 9-1/2 months in the womb of Virgo, until Equinox, September 23rd, 2017, when it will be ‘delivered’ by exiting—going direct—with the Sun rising directly behind the Virgo constellation—the Moon at her feet and a crown of twelve stars—nine of Leo constellation, including Regulus—with planets Mercury, Venus and Mars—in her ‘hair’.

SIGNS IN THE SKIES
Galactic Seed Reflected in the Heavens and in the Corn

Crop circle August 17 ’17 at Sutton Hall, Essex, proclaiming a message we may not be able to hear

Quietly, on August 17th, 2017 a crop circle appeared in a harvest field at Sutton Hall, Essex declaring to all who view it a blared message in the corn. Few have been able to decipher it, though it touches the inner soul and we have an itch to scratch it.

At the time, there were still four more days to go, and the northern hemisphere was gearing up for the total solar eclipse across middle America. Now, in retrospect, the design appears to use the eclipse as sending point—origin—of an important message.

While humanity is gazing at the skies, why not grab their attention and tell them what’s in store…

One scholar of Mayan Calendar detail is Maya (sic) Todorova who gives this interpretation:
On the left side of the formation is the circle ‘S’, which symbolizes the Source. Within this circle a lunar crescent ‘М’ is depicted and a smaller circle, that symbolize the First Moon with Tone 1.

Magnetic Moon Descends Staircase with Equinoctial Sun

On the right side of the formation can be seen 22 closed squares, which represent the first 22 days of the 1st Magnetic Moon, which on 17 August are already ‘closed’—they are already past.

The symbol ‘G’ is a sign for Goal. With this sign the formation reminds us, that we have few days left until the end of the 1st Magnetic Moon (26 July—22 August), in which we can identify our Goals (our Purpose) for the Yellow Crystal Seed Year.

Symbol ‘K’ depicts a Key. Tone 1 is the Magnetic Gate of the New Galactic Year. The Key symbolizes the opening of this Magnetic Gate.

Ms. Todorova was not to know that the August 17th crop circle was to be the LAST of the 2017 season—a blared message indeed.

Daykeeper Hunbatz Men, modern Elder of the Guatemalan Maya, foresees no apocalypse

“According to the prophecy in the year 2013 the first stage of higher understanding will begin. If we are willing to work with our subconscious, we will then be able to reclaim the information that has been impregnated in the deepest parts of our being. In this way, the ancient knowledge will rise again.”
Hunbatz Men, Daykeeper and Mayan Elder

Meanwhile—one month later—in Chichen Itza, heartland of the Maya, visitors and tribal devotees prepare for the annual dance of the sun—in the body of feathered serpent Kukulkan—down the sacrificial staircase of El Castillo at equinoctial sundown.

Signs of the [End] Times or Birth of a New Age?
Judaic scripture uses sacred numerology and dramatic descriptions of the Rapture and Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—war, pestilence, famine and death which symbolize the End of Days. Arab sacred texts repeat the need for constant prayer by the devoted in order to be saved. The Maya believe that sharing their higher understanding—handed down by their elders from the time of the Ancients—will save the human race from itself. Maya wisdom says the New Age began four years ago!

Will a once-in-7000 years’ stellar happening be dramatic enough to wake up three-quarters of the world’s major religious groups three days from now and get six million people out of bed before dawn to scan the eastern horizon? Will it change the way we look at the sky? view our amazing universe with more awe? more respect?

While difficult to pinpoint with the naked eye against the backdrop of dawn, 7a.m., binoculars will help immensely: Mercury and Mars rise at 5:27 and 5:37a.m respectively. Venus shines superbly, rising ahead of them at 4:40a.m., all three lighting up Virgo’s ‘hair’ (in the constellation Leo). It takes a little extra imagination to picture her giving birth to Jupiter, whose light is eclipsed at sunrise, but who will miraculously appear that same evening in the west immediately after sunset, 7p.m., alongside the newest of new moons! reclining within the body of Virgo.

We ask for heavenly signs to show us the way forward?
Voilà.

The Comet Labyrinth: Following the Umbilical Chord to the Soul

Comet ISON Reaches Perihelion

Sun-grazing comet Ison's head fans open as it makes closest approach to Mercury 11/19— before slingshot round the Sun 11/22-12/22

Sun-grazing comet Ison’s head fans open as it makes closest approach to Mercury 11/19— before slingshot round the Sun 11/22-12/22

Comet ISON, or Comet Nevski–Novichonok, currently the darling of NASA and Russian space agency whose Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok discovered it in September 2012—using the International Scientific Optical Network in Kislovodsk, Russia, reaches its closest point to the Sun: PERIHELION: tonight, after its journey through the SolarSystem from the Oort Cloud on the edge of the heliospere fourteen months ago.

Thanksgiving comes in all forms
For over a year, international agencies have followed Comet ISON’s heady entry into our neighborhood, heralding its last naked-eye visibility in our eastern dawn skies this weekend, before perihelion—now—its ‘slingshot round the Sun’. When it reemerges next week—despite media/entertainment industry’s drama-crisis Doomsday scenario of planetary mayhem, disintegration or worse—it becomes a more-easily visible evening sky object, setting along with Mercury and Venus after the Sun in the west December 4th.

Increased brightness caused by its encounter with the solar electromagnetic forcefield—in its face, so to speak—will add to holiday glitz and excitement, as the fireball gradually retreats back whence it came. December 4th-5th Northern hemisphere skies will be dominated by the glitter of twinkly wishing stars; it will do a fly-past of Earth on Hogmanay/New Year’s Eve. What more could a movie-fantasy/retail-therapy culture want for the ‘holiday season’?

On a (less Western) more philosophical soul-level: if Humanity’s Oversoul wished to indulge us in a little fireworks display to herald the phenomenal rise in spiritual consciousness-awareness of kin spirits reconnecting on earth, within what has for some been a waiting game since the ’Sixties, wouldn’t “It” choose to entertain, rather than chastise us?

Aren’t most of us tired of having to cope in that ‘stranger-in-strange-land’ environment? desire with body-mind-spirit to reach out of our fish tank-box and allow the Great Work of the Medicine Wheel to gather us up in its healing motion?

Comets in the mind of ancient peoples were signs of the wheeling of the Ages; heralds of the end of the old and the beginning of the new. On an electromagnetic level, we are naïve to believe that recent fierce elemental storms have not happened many times in the history of planet Earth. This year alone, as well as Solar sunspot maximum storms, accelerated weather patterns and volcanic activity have increased on Earth as well as on major ‘outer’ planets, Jupiter, Saturn+moon Titan, Uranus and Neptune. So adding a newcomer from the Oort Cloud into the heliospheric mix, it is little wonder all heads turn to the skies.

Labyrinth: a solo path

Labyrinth: a solo path

You are an explorer, and you represent our species, and the greatest good you can do is to bring back a new idea, because our world is in danger by the absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness. And so to whatever degree any one of us can bring back a small piece of the picture and contribute it to the building of the new paradigm, then we participate in the redemption of the human spirit, and that after all is what it’s really all about
Terence McKenna

Terence McKenna
‘s prophetic statement that ‘Man would make it with Machines’ has arrived in the real world. Bluetooth and iPods accompany street rap, break dancing and shopping carts. Man is more making it with his machine than his neighbor; more aware of his inner soul than the ‘real’ world around him. Altogether not such a bad thing in consciousness terms…

NORSE Thor, GOD of Thunder Lightning & the ethers struck bolts of fear in Viking hearts

Western civilization has been denied the concept of ‘Soul’ for fifteen hundred years while the establishment church/temple controlled the means—ritual pathway—umbilical cord which leads there. By denying their followers, whether Roman catholic, Anglican, Islamic, Hasidic, Coptic, Mormon or southern Baptist, they are all entangling their followers in unentanglable strands of dogma which obscure the Soul they profess to teach connectivity to.

Silbury Hill “time-attractor”, or Eschaton: is time running out? crop circle June 25th, 2013

We are in the grip of some kind of an attractor, and when we look back at History, we can have a sense, I think, that we have never been here before. But we are so accustomed to causal thought, that we assume we have been pushed here, pushed here by historical necessity, by bad political decisions, by the vicissitudes of evolution—cultural and otherwise. I don’t think so. I think we have been pulled here, that we are under the aegis of a kind of attractor. Some people would call it a “destiny”, but what it is is a dream that is pulling us deeper and deeper into the adventure of existential becoming. And faster and faster—that’s the other thing. Deeper and deeper, faster and faster, so that the rate of change that people were accustomed to before the Industrial Revolution, for example—we can barely conceive of such slow-moving, stately, meta-stable societies. On the other hand, within the 20th Century, the acceleration has been even more intense, and will continue to accelerate in the 21st.
Terence McKenna, The Archaic Revival

McKenna was convinced of the aloneness of Nature; he saw it critically as responsible for the current need to construct the UFO-Alien scenario—as the ‘most acceptable form to the ego presenting itself—alienation—disguising itself as an ET being’.

Many within the crop circle community have waxed eloquent this year on classical weaponry, ancient legendary ‘seeding’ from the stars, etc., and the UFO element has been given full rein.

Valid points, however, are being made to a predominantly western-agnostic-disconnected audience, who seem unable to make the quantum leap to an electromagnetic scenario which most enlightened, consciousness-aware, New Age groups now accept as our greater human potential: our current path on the planet either encompasses such greater awareness, or dies.

Taken together, several West-Keennettdesigns this year reflect previous seasons: the alien head Hinton Parva, 2011 the sacred serpent Ouroboros, the double-bladed axe.

So, if the 2013 crop circle hourglass shape, top, is a deceptive electromagnetic trick played by the forcefield around Silbury, Avebury and the Ridgeway, while at the same time reminding us of its alchemical symbol and our wasting (planetary) time, what are we going to do about it ?

Throughout the much-maligned, many times sabotaged 2013 crop circle season, a subliminal but increasingly powerful element of design, intelligence and desire to communicate appears, showing an overlay of tighter, more specific pointers to trigger those intuitive receptors in the human brain. Previous seasons from the glorious days of 2009-2010-2011 have prepared our consciousness for the appearance of ‘magical’ designs which trigger joy centers and memory receptors in the mind; so that when similar Disneyesque shapes reappear, reshuffled, realigned, we sense them as familiar. Circling the hourglass formation are ‘weather-feather’ glyphs which at first glance look similar to June 2012 designs. But edging closer, they reveal Celtic Church ogham, the Dark Age equivalent of Viking runes.

MUINThe idea related to Muin, vine, is propheric, open to intuition, truth. Its potency is greatest during Lammas-August and the ancient festival of Fire, of Lugnassadh, Lammas, symbolic of letting go, releasing old habits, clearing the past.

RUISRuis, elderflower, beginnings—endings, death/rebirth. Power at time of ‘thinnest veil’ between dimensions, Hallowe’en, Samhain

IDADIoho, ancient yew, symbolizes rebirth, reincarnation, immortality—yew wood never ‘dies’.

COLLColl, hazel, intuition; wisdom of the Salmon, pre-Celtic totem of gnosis, potent in July.

EADADEadad, poplar, birth, healing, prevention of illness; finds spiritual strength-endurance to face harsh life realities.

The Assyrian/Minoan labrys, double-headed axe was symbolic of sacred union between sky-earth; ultimate god/essly power; access to electric current, thunder and lightning; sun; fire. In Minoan Crete, coincidentally destroyed 2500B.C. by volcanic apocalypse, the double-bladed axe meant divine sovereignty, holding sacred power via presence of the deity within.

All are symbols of left-hemisphere-dominant power, prevalent for two millennia, now being questioned from within by some of us in western society. An undercurrent of the resurgent feminine—in all its guises, intuitive through outright male-female conflict—is surfacing to join indigenous wisdom in respect for the mother planet.

Ever-increasing circles of energy: humanity's potential godself

Ever-increasing circles of energy

Imagine for a moment, if you will, being our sentient mother Earth, tried beyond her patience with us, her errant children’s ways, enlightened and encouraged by her brightening lover, Sol to communicate in a language long known to our foremothers, but now forgotten: the plant symbols, Pictish creature designs on stone, tree shapes translated into ogham by early Celtic churchmen. Would she not use all the armoury at her disposal—an alkaline-waterfilled-electromagnetic-natural generator to relay her messages as artforms in crop circles—messages in the corn—as in 2013, within the underlying fabric of this magical aquifer? And would she not use multi-phase formations appearing in sequence over consecutive nights, as in 2009,2010, as a means to tempt those who of us who long to reconnect; while reminding us that enlightenment comes in fragmentary-momentary layers.

Sadly in post-modern faith-devoid Britain, these sacred messages, worshipped in pre-Celtic belief as intuitive gifts, seems to be ignored on those now-overpopulated shores, and it may take a miracle for the Brits to wake up and see it for themselves.

...our Pale Blue Dot...

…our Pale Blue Dot…

Viewed imaginatively as an overlay in a sequence of several seasons, like long-time crop circle devotee Gerd Estrup, or as an ongoing dialogue between higher consciousness and our prosaic selves, the 2013 season is indeed appealing to our soul to wake up and contribute; to intuit, grow and believe in something greater than the unholy mess we have created.

If we open ourselves to infinite possibilities, the unlimited, the unexpected, the extraordinary is allowed to enter and surprise us. We may save ourselves and our Pale Blue Dot after all.

New Beginnings: 2012 Hinges open Doorway to Consciousness

December 27, 2012

CONSCIOUSNESS: Great Gatherer toward Ascension

Princeton's Global Consciousness Project recorded 12/12/12

Princeton’s Global Consciousness Project recorded 12/12/12

The Great Cycle of the Maya has been sliding quietly shut. December 21st, 2012, foretold as long ago as 3114BC to be a cosmic door closing on ‘historic’ humanity, was said within the Maya themselves to herald the threshold of a new form of Man: the revealing of the knowledge of the Ancestors, or ‘return of ancient wisdom’, and the ‘gathering together of tribes’.

The Great Long Count Calendar of the Maya is not the only calendar to herald this moment, but it is certainly the most evocative and topical headline-hitter of all ancient calendars which come to a finale at this crucial crossroads in time. Similar sacred systems studied by early priesthoods [5000+BC] in both old and new world religions from the Assyrian ‘fertile crescent’ to the Siberian steppes, based their supreme knowledge and annual information of secret wisdom ‘given by’ the stars. It was common in all cultures, held sacred, and its ongoing calculation was handed down as sacrosanct.

Seen from the perspective of the NewAge self-awareness movement, many such ancient prophecies would appear to allude to man’s growth in spiritual knowledge, practice and frequency.

So when group meditations started happening worldwide on 12/12/12, the resulting reverberation, measured on the University of Princeton’s Global Consciousness Project, passed any previous measurement on their global consciousness scale which registers world consciousness fluctuations as a dot-graph chart.

This result has astounded Princeton Noosphere Project monitors; but contributing to this event has been a decade’s worth of mega-growth in world computer function/distribution, ensuring that more people now have access to a ‘network’ [television or computer] during December 2012 than ever before in human history.

This special solstice 12/21/12-end cycle event has had a larger [eastern] audience too, as the last full moon of the year occurs tomorrow, December 28th, see astro chart below for its potent Cancerian influences.

And this extended portal, related in consciousness to the thoughts we have continued throughout the year on this blog, comes now at a time when remarkably, the human race may just be ready for it. Certainly questions about human potential, personal growth, creating alternate realities are on many lips.

What has been surprising is the number of young people who had heard of the Maya Cycle Close, had listened to but not necessarily believed the associated doomsayer apocalypse scenario; because they themselves genuinely believed in the less-broadcast-more internet-wide alternative for hope-for-humanity.

We are saddened that our supposedly intelligent media should invade their youthful peripheral world, scoop up and serve vampires, blood-and-gore, fireballs at the end of a comet tail, in order to create a massive fear plot.

… and what a let-down to find no axis-reversal, no polar shift; but instead a wondersome star-show as spectacular as the December Geminid meteor shower and a stunning night sky full of anciently-grinding- and wheeling stars, galaxies, planets and satellites predicted by ancestral calculation and all draped in divine splendour of a black winter sky, for our delectation.

Hope for 2013 and the New Cycle
Instead of succumbing to a stupor of virtual/screen terror, or a mock-millennium-bug-rave-till-the-grave, many have found personal reason to use this season to go within. There has been in internet circles as well as sacred centers round the world an emphasis on attaining newfound knowledge, newdreamt dreams; remembering our connections instead of our separateness.

Much of the new consciousness is simple: a child could do it. That’s what all the ancient texts say ‘with the eyes of a child… you will but see…’ ‘…and a child shall lead them…’

The first hinge of the Great Doorway of Consciousness has opened. Mankind steps tentatively forward, knowing intuitively how to proceed but still not sure if it can really be true: that love is the answer; that we are all brothers and sisters. Then, seeing others do the same, our steps become bolder. By letting go fear of ‘others’, we find more ‘like’ minds/spirits gathering round, coming into our lives.

Several million people worldwide met together in consciousness during the twenty-four-hour standing-still of this particular solstice 2012, in order to pull in the stillness through meditation: and another estimated million will continue a Vedic tradition in celebrating the full moon tomorrow. These groups consist not only of Central and South American, indigenous North American, Inuit and Aleutian/Alaskan heritage; along with thousands of southern hemisphere celebrants in Vedic ceremonies of the Indian subcontinent alongside private sun- and moon-worship celebrations on Bondi Beach. More significantly, in the heavily-populated northern hemisphere, hundreds of thousands of non-denominational spiritual groups internationally combined their loving intent, pooling spiritual resources for world peace and loving brotherhood.

Flower of Life: at root of all growth from cell to consciousness

Flower of Life: at root of all growth from cell to consciousness

Meditation ceremonies for December solstice, Christmas, full moon and year-end [Hogmanay] will continue in many cases through New Year, according to private calendars-timing-invitation. These ceremonies include but are not limited to events associated with established spiritual communities worldwide [e.g. Esalen, CA, Scotland’s Findhorn Foundation, Jean Hudon’s (Canadian) Planetary Light Network; Drunvalo Melchizedek’s ongoing Hawaiian, New Mexican and Central American ‘flower-of-life’ mer-ka-ba visualization for Ascension [his advice on a possible “earth-shift” in an electromagnetic sense can be read here]; the Meeting of the Thirteen Grandmothers in Arizona; and even more prolific, thanks to the internet: another uncountable number of individual workshop/meditation initiatives continue to be conducted online, courtesy of Keisha Crowther, Gregg Braden, Caroline Myss, Baba Ram Dass, Humanity Healing Network, Eckhart Tolle, and David Wilcock; with other proactive media influences [like Daniel Pinchbeck, Evolver and Reality Sandwich continue to encourage from the sidelines…
with assistance from sacred L.A group events e.g. Dee Wallace, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt environmental foundations.

From the perspective of the great serpent-hole at the center of the [Milky Way] spiral arm, the Earth is a precious planet. Teeming with millions of intelligent lifeforms, all potential cells of its supreme guidance system holding the planet in orbit as it passes through the gate. Its species are equipped with every last form of technology, spiritual, dimensional, physical and material: all the tools and toys of the imagination to play with and a perfect planet to perform on. And Mother Universe stands back for a few billion years [remember, time and space are relative, so this is an arbitrary number] and allows the species to have free choice.

Well, the Universe has left us to our devices now for something like five thousand years, give or take a Maya-contrived Baktun or two. And our consciousness has begun to hone itself: Ascension is a word on more lips now in 2012 than in, say, the post-war Eisenhower-era (where more common words might have been ‘duplex’, ‘superhighway’ and ‘warloan’).

And if not Ascension, then almost everyone [reading this blog] has spoken of or contemplated raising their own consciousness.

Where there is a meeting of consciousness, particularly with a a communal intent, a goal in view, Group Mind creeps in, allowing right-hemisphere/female-related sensations which the body knows intimately, like intuition, emotions, feelings, to take over.

During 2012 throughout the world, with so many spiritual groups holding conferences, earth-festivals, sacred ceremonials, to celebrate this exceptional milestone of time in our combined earth culture, it has become bigger than merely marking year Twelve-Twelve Gregorian; Hebrew year-5773; Maya 13.0.0.0.0.

“Where two or more are gathered in My Name”
New Testament, King James edition

If teenagers can feel it; it’s there, on the tip of our tongue, that indescribably elusive taste of freedom-creation-possibility; if the Occupy Movement was last year’s phenomenon in the ongoing cycle of change to bring human interaction back to the human level [rather than being ‘managed’ by its current soul-less bureaucratic one]; then Ascension is this year’s preoccupation, its golden meadow of opportunity.

If we don’t see it right off, does that mean that the consciousness-the meadow-isn’t there? or does our habit of expecting media-manipulated answers to be delivered on a screen overshadow our deep desire and conviction that the great cluster of global consciousness is finally on the move.

We are not the people who were born into this world six, five, four, three decades ago. Not only has our skin, muscle tone, brain function but every cell changed, regrouped and rebirthed. Our consciousness, too, however much we doubt, has altered.

Some of those early movers and shakers have entered another dimension, leaving a few of us to carry the torch. Others, among the early ‘believers/NewAgers have sadly lapsed into the retirement-relapse-ageshock-memorylane comfort zone of never again having to confront ideas of Ascension. Still powering on, though, there are the original NewAge believers, encouraged as each decade passed and another generation joined them to swell their numbers quietly.

Now the long-awaited and much-foretold EndDays are manifesting one by one, hour by hour, minute by minute, and we are being asked as each precious moment of it passes, or as each new thought, new emotion arises, if we are worthy; if we have done enough in this life to merit the honor of still being alive as this time of flowering for us humans begins.

Drunvalo Melchizedek
’s spent two years in a solitary cabin in isolated surroundings, attaining a personal state of peace, openness and belief. His description of a personal ‘shift’, a St-Paul on the Road to Damascus moment, Ascension-in-action have been likened to experiences documented by all indigenous shamanic practice. The Leary-Alpert-McKenna team’s 1990s research has never been outclassed as a source of information on the natural ‘alpha’ theta-wave condition. This enhanced state of awareness is one sought by all meditative practitioners from Zen to Tibetan to Sedona to Laos. Independent gurus give the same advice. Allowing the left hemisphere to relax and the right to come through; intuition, awareness of gratitude, feelings over logic, calming the voice of the ego into a submissive role.

Ken Carey was also drawn to spend several seasons in isolated conditions, growing his own food and opening himself to belief that what he needed would be provided for him.

Both emerged from their experiences professing the first step in wrapping oneself in this new blanket of love is silence, and faith that it will go on surrounding us.

As Mayan 13.0.0.0.0/Gregorian 21-December-2012 slips quietly to a close and the stars and planets of the firmament wheel once more out of the central axis of the Milky Way’s Dark Rift and begin again a whole new charting through unventured regions of the Galaxy, we raise our heads humbly to such a magnificent canopy and at the very least wonder how we came to be so blessed to be here at this time, at this change of consciousness.

Because, however tentative and faltering our baby-steps, they are indeed steps we are making, with unfathomably loving spiritual help [call them Angels, Archangels, guides, God, Great Spirit, Jah, JVH or Aunt Maud-channelled-in-heaven] to become our more-loving selves; and as we feel more proficient at our new openness, more brotherly can be felt towards each other and miracles can be projected and start to happen: in energetic and spiritual terms our imagination-creativity-self-field (a pure extension of our self), is made more ‘real’ every time we re-emphasize a loving solution over a non-caring one.

Perhaps no great revelation or white light appeared on solstice 2012; no fiercely threatening alien form of a ‘dark star’ in the Nibiru mold crashed through the heliosheath and stood breathing lethal gas into earth orbit.

But, as Carey said in his latest work
‘when all else are looking the other way, God’s work will be done’.

Shift of the Ages
It probably takes a prescient kind of mind to know just exactly when one went/goes through the shift, if such one does/did, or whether we are among those privileged to live in these times of unique growth for the experience of sensing human psyche-consciousnes-groupmind.

I believe we are indeed the ones chosen to be here for this shift in consciousness-dimension-level of understanding of a Greater Spirit to guide us unerringly through these uncharted waters… we have to let go of the oars, believe we are in good/godly hands, and allow the energies, the aegis of the new to direct and guide us. After all, in a brand new dimension, all directions are valid; and we have pointers to show us the way, if we only watch and listen.

It may be some months before we shall look back on these final moments of December 2012 and be able to say truly: ‘I was there then when the shift…’ or ‘I had a feeling in my bones…’ it may be February before we will feel a change in the air, new birdsong, but, let us believe our star-nurtured electromagnetically-magical circuitry is capable of more than we currently see; more like the gods the Ancients believed were directing our path.

I believe the Ancestors knew of which they spoke when they called this moment the Shift of the Ages. While we may be slower on the uptake than the Masters, I think we mortals made it through the portal and that great dreams are ahead for us, with help from our loved ones, new friends and old, virtual and in the flesh, and that those who continue to help “bring through” the “new reality” will grow in strength and numbers.

Lifting the Veil: Humanity at the Gate: Solstice 2012

November 29, 2012

Santiaguito volcano, Guatemala, September equinox 2012; Earth stirred in transition from summer to autumn

Serpentine Mind disentangles from branches of confusion uncoils its knowledge to greet the dawn and sees In the growing light
Great Colored, feathered wings
That grew unnoticed in its sleep
Understanding perfectly
In a single rush of joy
It flies above the ancient promises
Beyond where the forest lies to the Sea
The open sea
As rings around the Morning Star
Light corridors through the air
Kukulkan

During classic harvest time, a crop circle appeared on new moon August 17th/18th, predicting thirty-six days stretching from then until autumn equinox, September 22nd; and coincidentally twenty days backwards to Lammas and the Avebury masterpiece, more below.

According to some Maya present-day research, Equinox is the famed day for witnessing the serpent of light creep down its light staircase at Chichen Itza. Equinox ceremonies there are attracting increasing numbers each year on that day, and it added to the excitement this year that seven “triangles of shadow and light” appeared on the northern staircase. The August crop circles appeared to reinforce this appearace of Kukulcan.

Today, one hundred days farther on, the full moon in Gemini/Sagittarius—plus a partial lunar eclipse——may be closing one door——the end of an astronomical sky show and spectacle which the Heavens have been giving us all year—

2012 Astromical Highlights
May 4 Partial lunar eclipse, off Mexico
May 14 First standstill Venus during retrograde loop
May 20 Annular eclipse of Sun
June 6 Transit of Venus (above) and Inferior Conjunction
November 13 2012 Total solar eclipse, in which Sun and Moon align with head of the Serpent (constellation Serpens)
November 18 Solar system conjunct dark ridge Galactic Center
Nov 28 Partial (penumbral) lunar eclipse

—or a preparation for what is —more energetically— to come.

We are told by all Cultures that moments of experiencing the “Shift” are individual: that we will be taken by the Light, know if it is meant for us, that it matches our own inner right-ness, intent, and it will allow us to move on down the new path. Our spiritual senses are being honed. It is thrilling to believe the crop circles—particularly later in the 2012 seson—are showing us a kind of starmap of consciousness: in the essential original meaning of the Maya calculation of time: they appear to be more a calendar to consciousness.

Sadly, out there in television land there is a war being waged to capture our attention “in fear” and to distract us from what is happening in our inner-spiritual world.

Human consciousness is rapidly transitioning to a new state, a new intensity of awareness that will manifest as a different understanding, a transformed realization, of time and space and self.
Daniel Pinchbeck

Several years ago Michael Glickman suggested some crop circles were representative calendars or ‘maps of time’. A square within a circle in 1997, itself made up of twenty-six rows of 30 squares, the total number of squares coinciding with the number of weeks remaining from its appearance date until the end of 2012. Glickman and Pinchbeck both believe that the focus on the end of this year too marks a dimensional shift and the purpose of crop circles is to key us in to this change, and to give us clues as to how this shift in dimension will manifest itself in our world.

Thankfully, help from the crop circles has only continued to manifest and inspire us—with the magnificent series of serpent formations all summer, and the Avebury culmination, commented on in so much detail by astronomer Miguel Etchepare.

More sigificant than the development of language…
We are all aware that there is a Shift going on. In physical terms, it has taken some by storm; continents have upheaved, hurricanes have raged; and the December portal beckons.

Ken Carey writes:

The great day of purification has begun—a short but essential division that will gather those who promote fear and volence and separate them from from this Season of the World like chaff is separated from wheat at binding.
During these next two and one half decades [written in 1988] humankind will experience this separation, a transformation in human consciousness more fundamental than the development of language, more significant than the shift to agriculture, more meaningful than any historical revolution.

The dawn approaches.

What if they are all right?

Returning to Galactic Birth Canal
There has been such a plethora of celestial events, from Mars lander, to Voyager breaking through the heliosheath, to Venus transit, and potent crop circle reflections in autumn fields have echoed events, even after the crop crowd had closed down group hopes and expectations for the year.

Venus's Heliacal Rising, November 2011, her return from the Underworld presaged solstic dawn 2012

Something in between dreaming and doing
Something arching down from there to here
We are the arching
We are neither here nor there
We are the hope that lives between
The continual blooming outward and upward
of something we want
but cannot see

– Author unknown

The Etchepare series of videos is important to view—especially for budding astronomers or those less aware of the movement of the skies. On the Maya count, above, November 13th’s total solar eclipse brought the sun and moon to co-align with head of the Serpent (Serpens caput); while last week on November 18th, the Solar System became conjunct with the dark ridge of Galactic Center. Please read various back up blogs on Venusian cycles, significance of Galactic Center, the Maya Sacred Tree.

Each year we spin in and out of this Dark Rift: it is a cosmic sign of our balance in the system, a prelude to our annual rendezvous with Galactic Center—that dark patch in the Milky Way—when the Sun, including us, microscopic specks of energy clinging on to the plane of the ecliptic, all nine planets of our system as one, aligned again with our Motherboard-birth canal, the Creator-energy-vortex, on November 18th in the middle of our Galaxy. The portal is still open—our consciousness is being assisted before the sun spirals away one more time, and we shall head off for another year of peripatetic searching through infinite realms of space.

What is significant about Etchepare’s starmap—interpreted solely from his inspired reading of the Lammas Avebury crop circle, above, is that by associating each planet as it rises ahead of the sun just before dawn on solstice, December 21st, 2012, not only do the planets—led by Saturn, Mars, Venus guide the solar rays ahead like a plough or cosmic train of starlight and planetary bodies—along the line of the Ophiuchus’ [Serpent-bearer] arms, holding both ends of the Serpent—Serpens:caput, head, above November 13th led by Spica and the edge of constellation Virgo; pulling serpens cauda (serpent tail) after him.

But … when all these miracles have been witnessed all over the planet —various earth views are given, making it easier to understand the sky program from any earth location, including Antarctica—the dawn sun … rises from the very mouth of the Galactic Rift.

For the Maya to calculate so far in advance of their own time and to see this train of heavenly bridal veil enticing the light to re-emerge from its birth-hole—was indeed unprecedented. It is still difficult for some to comprehend such detailed knowledge of the heavens so vastly ahead in time. However, their predictions for solstice are phenomenal—to an exact celestial degree: Saturn joins Spica/Virgo to ensnare Ophiuchus, who, wrestling forever with the head and tail of the Serpent, drags—alongside Venus and Mars—the reluctant Sun at the exact moment of dawn from his cosmic birth cavity at Galactic Center to be reborn for a new cycle.

Indeed a spectacle worth keeping predictive records of witness for over three thousand years. And we are the civilization alive to witness it.

In the eyes of the Ancestors, we are the ones we have been waiting for. We need to get our heads round this soon: and … before solstice would be good.

Above all, group consciousness, or combined intuition is clearly the way to perceive what is happening to us.

For those perhaps not willing to take another [spiritual] leap, the earth will continue in her beautiful bounty, I do believe; but I also believe there is an added dimension out there—not just because the crop circles have succeeded in describing “portals” in detail; but because all the ancient calendars can’t be wrong.

11:11:11 Spark in the Park~ Collective Ascension

November 11, 2011

Kuwait's DNA spiral building; a little disconcerting if you're taking the elevator

The religion of the future will arise from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as “a meaningful unity” Albert Einstein, 1929 (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955), named The Great Relative by the Hopi

Six months ago, in early May, Celtic Beltane, at the time of the Festival of Wesak, primary date in the Buddhist calendar, Zen meditation/self actualization week, pinnacle of spring in the Northern hemisphere, many non-Buddhist people around the world were also taking time out to focus their thoughts and direct energy in appreciation of a bountiful season, along with a wish to improve the lot of Planet Earth.

All the ones
Now as the hinge of the seasons swings open another door — the 11:11:11 gateway — Celts and neo-Celtic groups the world over celebrate Samhain, the beginning of ancient Celtic New Year. The West remembers the armistice days of two world wars. A week ago Pagans had their Hallowe’en and the Roman Catholics their All Saints. Guy Fawkes was heralded as the 16thC equivalent of Occupy Westminster. Tonight the Moon reaches Full orb in Taurus. Astrologers worldwide are harnessing the predictive power of the planets with the changing season. As astronomers study intruders into the moon/earth system, numerologists are fascinated by this unique date, All the ones, statistically rare in any calculation or calendar count.

The Maya Longcount calendar continues on the runup to 13.0.0.0.0 which coincides with northern winter solstice. Many tuning into the Internet expect something awesome to reveal itself on the Day of all the Ones.

November 9th Asteroid YU55-2005's close encounter with the Earth-Moon orbit system

As if to emphasize the coming-together of celestial forces, the heavens also provided a marvel to delight all camps: an asteroid coming close enough to Earth to bruise the ionosphere. On Wednesday, November 9th, potentially hazardous object, (PHO), asteroid 2005 YU55 strayed beyond the Asteroid Belt (Mars-Jupiter region) and wandered into Earth orbit –flying through between us and the Moon. The Nibiru-Planet-X camp were appeased by a close flyby without having to concede defeat in calculation of size. Backyard telescopes had a picnic, all searching to outdo each other’s photographic documentation and video records of the nearest-Earth flyby in living memory. Not quite as spectacular as the December 2009 Norway Spiral as a Sign-in-the-Heavens, but a close second.

Mount Arunachala, 'throne of Brahma' near Tiruvannamalai, Chennai-Madras, SE India, where Karthigai Deepam Festival of Lights is held by Tamil Hindus during November full moon

Every year during Karthigai Deepam festival (November-December full moon, November 10th), Tamil Hindus in SE India walk in sacred procession around their sacred mountain (Arunachala, right) and, as each night of the nine-day cycle leads up to full Moon’s conjunction with the Pleiades constellation, more lights are added in all homes, every temple, and oil lamps (Deepam) are placed in front of houses, increasing rows of lamps in the streets, until darkness becomes as bright as day. When full moon arrives, a huge ghee-filled vat of flame is kindled on the summit itself, seen for miles around, and it is common for celebrants to experience spontaneous healing, witness lightning, light flares and other heavenly phenomena appear over their sacred mountain. The lighted lamp is considered throughout India to be an auspicious symbol, believed to ward off evil and usher in prosperity and joy. All told, half the Indian subcontinent are celebrating, praying, communing with their gods right now and joining in with the same Unity Consciousness that was prevalent at a counterbalancing world festival six months ago, during Wesak, see above.

Spark in the Park

A similar unity consciousness is quietly making itself felt by the OWS movement, now 50 days on. While establishment media broadcasting worldwide continues sparse reportage, it is becoming clear that the movement is not only not going away, but is, according to David Crosby (above video with Graham Nash in Manhattan) attracting the same energy he saw as a young musician at anti-VietNam peace marches in the 1960s. He states in the interview: “…(Zuccotti) Park is only the Spark. We’ve just returned from a (music) tour in Europe. There they think America’s finally waking up.”

View from the Wheatfields

A series of wheat crop circles imprinted in Santa Catarina state, Brazil, only kilometers from where November designs first appeared (2008, 2009, 2010)

Almost as an afterthought, the ‘intelligence‘ behind the Circlemakers, points out that celestial signs are on the cards for the forseeable future. Four crop circles have appeared in succession since Hallowe’en, concentrated in a specific area of Santa Catarina. Brazil has only recently joined the crop circle ‘hub’. These designs are placed in the same area of Ipuaçú, where Brazil’s first crop circles appeared three years ago — to great local acclaim — only a few kilometres from where these latest ones were found. The phenomenon repeated itself in 2009 and 2010, also in the same area and at the same time of year. Of the four, the crop glyph at Ipuaçú, above, seems to be a clear representation of the inner solar system — Mars with two moons, Deimos and Phobos, Earth with one moon; Venus, Mercury; and in central focus the sun blasting off another one of its now-common series of M- and X-class flares.

Midwest tornadoes, Eastern seaboard hurricanes, the earth drumming up weather changes

Such flares have increased in regularity in the last month, sparking speculation of their influence on Earth weather anomalies — an early (end October) New York City snowstorm, coming close on the heels of two hurricanes; anomalous tornadoes in the mid-West; summer rain in California instead of forest fires; unusually warm autumn temperatures in Scotland; and the current concern: the freak sub-zero storm expected this week to hit Alaska.

Freak storm bearing down on Alaska

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them… will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” Thomas Jefferson

It is no mere coincidence that the world’s youth have chosen this time to rise up as one voice.

Europeans have a long history of revolution, but suppression by guillotine, inquisition, execution and death by firing squad are assumed (by Europeans) to be a thing of the past. British and Continental representatives are — as an international bloc — quite shocked by the continuing dramatic methods still considered legal means to accomplish suppression in crowds, peace marches and street assembly by US law enforcement agencies. For international travelers, the concept of travel to the United States is no longer a pleasure because of the horrendous lack of respect and brusque treatment of ‘aliens’ experienced at the hands of U.S. air terminal immigration and customs agencies.

But times they are a-changin’ — as the ’sixties song went. Forty years on, the same suppression and domination by an unreasoning Establishment, accustomed to getting its own way, may not be tolerated any more. November is a difficult month to camp out and still feel the spark of belief in one’s cause. David Crosby may be right, that Europe feels America is finally waking up. He and Graham Nash were astounded by group support provided by passers-by, relief agencies, clothing donors and food manufacturers. As ‘baby boomers’ they were particularly drawn by the number of oldies camped out alongside young people a quarter their age. “The Park is just the spark” may indeed be a prescient description of what is to come. Their stance was cheered at all their European venues.

Candlelight vigil November 1st, 2011 on the beautiful single span Sundial pedestrian bridge, Redding, CA

11:11:11 has provided a trigger for many spiritual groups worldwide. There are major ‘alternative’ initiatives in the U.S. and in virtual chatrooms on the Internet, which speak of this special time as a time to renew commitment to ascending together as one (human) species.

One group in particular provides another opportunity to Fire the Grid, which fired a world initiative in 2007. Others feel that perhaps lightworkers with several years’ experience of consciousness-raising, will become more outspoken and help lead others to express their own desire for group evolution of consciousness. As might be expected, there have been multiple and varied channelings and medium-based pronouncements from the Ancestors of Indigenous tribes, Ascended Masters, Archangels and Star Elders.

Fire the Grid

Fire-the-Grid's Divinity Code: embedded memory sent to trigger human DNA into ascension

The following is the message brought by Fire-the-Grid. It is suggested as a gentle way of introducing one’s psyche to communion with All-that-Is, through group meditation and knowing that others are similarly focused; scheduled for 11 minutes past eleven on 11:11:11. (At 11:11GMT on 11:11:11, Britain holds one minute’s silence; time equivalent is 03:11 PST, but 11:11 local in all time zones will work). It should create a world wave.

The Meditation:

Bring to the experience an open heart and a willingness to remember who you are. This music and image are exactly what I saw in the directions when I was told to share it with humanity.

To engage fully with the experience please make yourself comfortable. Remove all the daily stress from your mind and open your heart to truth. Then in knowing that you are entitled, connect to your Divine Source in any manner you believe in, feel grounded and safe. Ensure you are connected to the Highest Light for the highest purpose and that it be the best for all. You must feel safe and comfortable in order to open human consciousness to the truth. Remember who you are for ten minutes and charge your day with the beauty of knowing it.
Fire the Grid 11:11:11

Fire the Grid has been encouraging human consciousness quietly along its ascension path since the first Fire-the-Grid world meditation in 2007. Musicians Bradfield, Anael and empath Shelley Yates have taken their roles seriously in transmitting instructions to those who wish to participate, to drive the 11:11:11 event with a supreme force. It is the plan that at least half the world will participate and feel the benefits of ten/eleven minutes of silence and communion with Spirit. Others may choose to meditate for one full hour.

Shelley Yates says:
“Who are these great Beings of Light? They wish for us to know them as just that, Beings of Light. They are the essence of all life in our universe, the essence of the great prophets, angels and other Beings that have come to earth with messages of hope for a better future. In fact they are the essence of you and me. For within us we are these great Beings of Light. We too are of the same energy as these beautiful Beings and we hold tremendous power, the power to change ourselves and our world. Collectively, we hold the power to manifest what we need and desire to create a world of joy and abundance for us all. We have been learning about this through various forms over the past ten years. Now is the time to unite ourselves to manifest with intention, not just for ourselves but for the collective whole of this planet.”

Humanity is entering a new time which it has not experienced in living memory. Transition has been happening and will continue to happen during the few years ahead. FTG’s great Beings of Light wish to assist with that transition. Not unlike a parent holding the hand of a child while it endeavors something new, these Beings wish to hold Humanity’s hand as we transition into what we have always known in our hearts to be true.

“They wish to hold our hands as we become our greatest selves.”

There will be other opportunities as we move into 2012, but the Eleven Eleven gateway is a gift both for first-time meditators and for old hands. Ten minutes out of your day will do you absolutely no harm.

And it could bring about a miraculous change in our collective spirit which will do us all a great deal of good.

Dimensional Shift: Take the 5D Elevator

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
— Albert Einstein

One of the latest in a long line of contenders (including charismatic Nassim Haramein, whose theory of ‘Resonance’ is constantly expanding) is the E8 Group. Garrett Lisi‘s E8 ‘Theory of Everything’ (subatomic) strives to explain –on the back of Einstein’s relativity, and assuming gravity as the dominant force — how all things fit together. It is a nice idea. But many quantum physicists and mathematicians disagree. “…[E8]’s biggest flaw is probably its starting point, because gravity is not a fundamental force, but an emergent one, as postulated by Dutch theoretical physicist Erik Verlinde.” David Deutsch, author of The Fabric of Reality: towards a Theory of Everything (1998) and The Beginning of Infinity (2011) says ‘one of the most valuable, significant and useful attributes of human thought is its ability to reveal and explain the fabric of reality.’

Cherhill 5D cube --'penteract'-- at Jubilee Plantation: connections made by physicists to E8 theory; or is it Max Planck's 'Divine Matrix'?

Milo Wolff’s Wave Structure of Matter, describes how waves in quantum space form all the matter of the Universe. His simple, elegant explanation of how matter forms at a point/node, answers some of the basic questions in physics, e.g. WHY gravity exists. Previously physics taught that particles were the “stuff,” and the rest is empty space. It seems the opposite may be true. Space now looks like a multidimensional fabric with nodes where particles of reality form and reform where waves cross, as they move through this fabric. Wave patterns, vibration and sound play a huge role in the illusion we call matter.

Deutsch disagrees with Stephen Hawking that the human race is ‘typical’ in the Universe, merely ‘chemical scum’ on the surface of a ‘typical’ planet. He thinks we are an exceptional species, our knowledge accelerating at a phenomenal rate. He agrees with Nobel prizewinning physicist Richard Feynmann that the ‘Multiverse’ is our quantum medium and we sentient beings are the most important entities in it. His work in the field of quantum computers makes him an optimist. Like Terence McKenna, he believes, all (human) knowledge is without boundaries, constantly evolving. McKenna said in 2000 before he died that humanity is headed for a world made out of Mind:

‘Mind instead of “stuff”…a hologrammatic disk, part bio, part machine, part think tank, part Mind’
Terence McKenna

Deutsch, working in 2011 to create the ultimate quantum computer environment, is making McKenna’s prophecy a reality.

Other physicists, Quantum or otherwise, converse in terms of the Multiverse. Sabine Hossenfelder and Rob Bryanton, author of Imagining the Tenth Dimension say we have only scratched the surface. In this realm of multiple dimensions and parallel universes, gravity seems to have taken a back seat to a simpler field of energy where waves interlock and form ‘nodes’ of matter. Just like crop circles do!

Sabine (Bee) is, like fellow physicist Bryanton, besotted with additional dimensions. They are true disciples of Max Planck, known as the ‘father of quantum physics’. He believed all reality was contained within a Matrix, which he called divine because it displayed a field of energy which appears intelligent. Planck shocked contemporaries in 1947 by confirming what the Ancients believed — on all continents — that the Universe is being run by a Divine Being with our interests at heart. He also said ‘Mind is the Matrix of all Matter.’

“All matter (from the birth of stars, to human DNA and everything in between) originates and exists by virtue of a Force. We must assume behind this force a conscious, intelligent Matrix.” Max Planck, 1947

Gregg Braden, a former aerospace computer systems designer, transitioned into his life’s work of trying to understand this matrix. He sees this ‘container of the Universe’ as the bridge between our imagination and reality, as well as being the mirror in our world for what we believe: a reciprocal process. ‘To unleash the power of this matrix in our lives we must understand how it works and speak the language that it recognizes.’

Perhaps the Jubilee crop circle is saying just that: getting us to read the code; opening our minds to interpreting symbols other than words on a page.

So, if Space has the underlying predetermined form of the ‘golden decagon’ which the Jubilee Plantation crop circle portrays — with specific lines absent so that it looks like a 5D cube (penteract) — its internal structure seems based on the Golden Mean/Ratio, Phi (Greek letter uppercase Φ, lowercase φ, or written mathematically ϕ); that magical balance of beauty, harmony and form that gives us shivers to contemplate.

Just as previous crop circles have given us clues, little coincidences, double entendre allusions to inside knowledge, names, nearby features, and particularly sacred form and meaning, this season’s finale seems filled with meaning. It is simultaneously seen in the physics community as ToE (above), to sacred geometers it is a 5D hypercube, and a spider web. (Native American mother arachnid warns us to be mindful of the web we weave in our lives; to focus on our choices). The crop circle’s perimeter webbing is indeed masterful — a tapestry of careful precision, photo below. Looks as if we’re being given some good advice.

A tesseract looks simple when conceived from fifth dimensional perspective, courtesy Rob Bryanton

Once again ET/our human-Oversoul reminds us we are part of something divine and, even more exciting, communally about to transition into — the Fifth Dimension.

Carl Sagan, in describing a Tesseract (4D cube), carefully talked us through an understanding of seeing the fourth dimension as ‘another form of measure at right angles to the ones we are familiar with’ or, more simply, to look at its shadow. Many of last year’s (2010) crop circles presented hypercubes and allusions to the fourth dimension. Now we are being presented with a progression into the fifth.

How does our imagination picture a further dimension at right angles to time?

In the fields of Wiltshire, harvest is almost over. Only a few acres remain to be cut and stored. Another season has come and gone.

But our dimensional brothers from another time-space-reality have been sending us messages nonetheless. They continue contact with our subliminal consciousness so that, if we allow the communication to root, it will add another notch to that strand of human DNA that is consistently expanding, upgrading, enlightening us to understand a newer, all-encompassing reality — one we’ve never encountered before.

The crop circle at Jubilee Plantation may be the last of the season. It is ostensibly a simple decagon surrounded by woven grain and etched in the center with slim lines of apparent intricacy — only one footprint wide on the ground — and probably the most important crop circle which has been imprinted this year. Like last season’s finale, when seen from above *as with all designs inspired by our Oversoul [*see Nazca lines], it serves to click an unbidden trigger in our synapses and unleash our dimensional observer: the one who sees multiple cubes rising and descending in the elevator of our mind.

The Pentaract is, in animation, a constantly imploding and exploding hypercube extruding itself from its own cone of squares like a rectangular telescope. In shadow in the field, its 2D shape is merely a mass of thin lines. But this field imprint is a masterpiece of dimensionality that only our human consciousness [in its expanded version] could devise to send back to us through time/space and via the elevator of understanding which we croppies hope we project in our willingness to receive, before the season is out.

Deutsch, an innovator like his gurus, Richard Feynmann and quantum cosmologist Leonard Susskind, likes to simplify. The beauty of a formation (in the field or in mathematical formulae) betrays for him a simple truth. Susskind believes we are having an intelligent conversation with the Universe. Physicist Deutsch, an Oxford don, appears to be honing that into sharp focus, by bringing ecology, natural selection, physics, mathematics and evolution into the conversation via computer technology. He points out the shocking fact that the earth’s natural ecosystem is almost incapable now of supporting human beings, certainly in any numbers. We have created our own life-support system of food, energy, transport, shelter and communications. He is fond of using his own territory of Oxfordshire as an example. Take away the farms and modern infrastructure and, in the woods and downs, little of the vegetation that is left now is edible. He, like Stephen Hawking (but for different reasons) advocates upgrading our planetary exploration capability and getting ‘out there’. His Beginning of Infinity is a great treatise on Life, the Universe and Everything, a book for our time where the answer is not 42: it is infinity.

The Significance of Venus

Woven 'fabric' of Jubilee plantation, image Frank Laumen. The August 15th crop circle is a masterpiece of wordplay, timing, sacred geometry and cultural prompting. Its decagon (double pentagram) appeared on the day planet Venus (pentagonal orbit) reached superior conjunction

This season’s shapes have constantly encouraged us to leave our myopic cultural concerns and look to the heavens. Earlier in the season, crop designs focused on orbits of the solar system’s inner planets, cometary ‘intruders’, reminding us of knowledge known to our ancestors but apparently ‘lost’ to modern civilization. Few knew, for instance, that the day of the Jubilee plantation appearance was astronomically significant (particularly to ancient skywatchers) as the moment Venus reached its farthest elongation from Earth in direct line on the other side of the sun from us — known as superior conjunction — when all three bodies line up, but when Venus becomes ‘invisible’. As the ancient Babylonians described her, Ishtar/Venus the dual-phased (Sumerian double countenanced Inanna) morning star of war and wrath now enters the Underworld, where she transitions from being goddess of war in the Eastern sky and emerges 60 days later as evening star in the West: Ishtar/Aphrodite, goddess of love. What a great pity our modern prosaic preoccupations with money and status no longer allow us to look at love and war with that cosmic perspective.

‘When beggars die there are no comets seen
The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes’
Calphurnia, Julius Caesar II ii 30 Wm Shakespeare

Hurricane Irene making landfall on the East coast of the USA, August 28th, 2011

Much of the eastern United States is at present having to contemplate the power of the planet, in a frightening double dose of earthquake and hurricane. This electromagnetically-sealed planetary body is suddenly seen, not merely as the mothership that guides us through those remote reaches of interstellar space, but as herself a biosphere of living, moving, reacting interplay of elements: fire, water, air, earth. Suddenly what the Ancients believed takes on meaning few in formerly powerful Wall Street or choppy Chesapeake could have imagined.

Our place in the Universe is constantly changing and ancestral societies DID know more about this reality than we, shadow people of 21stC society, do. We wake up one morning and everything has changed. Power is for a moment seen, not in the symbolic dollar or in terrestrial exploitation to squeeze every last ounce of energy out of an exhausted source; but in a living, breathing rotating body in the heavens responding to electromagnetic pressures being thrust upon her.

To the Ancients (Maya, Sumerian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Chinese, Hindu, Aztec and Inca) Venus’s elongation was symbolic of (sacred) periodicity — an amazing calculable phenomenon which ties the two planets forever locked in celestial embrace as they orbit their parent Sun. There is no more potent symbolism seen in the heavens than the exact cyclical rhythm that Venus dances with Earth: Venus travels faster than Earth, orbiting the sun 2.6 times to Earth’s 1.6 orbits. This means that five Venus cycles of 548 days exactly equal eight Earth cycles of 365 days. Five Venus years equal eight Earth years. Exactly. The beauty of that synchronicity was not lost on formative societies. It was the stuff of which their gods were made. The Venus rotational cycle formed a perfect sacred pentagram. This is also contained in the Jubilee crop design.

Ninth Wave of Calendar of Consciousness for 2011: split into seven 'days' and six 'nights'. We entered the fifth 'night' August 18th

Currently the Long Count calendar of the Maya is gaining popularity, thanks to the willingness of Maya Elders to share sacred handed-down knowledge, to scholars who have gone before, like Ian Xel Lungold, José Argüelles, and to current teachers of the 5124-year calendar cycles like Carl Johan Calleman.

What is gradually surfacing — not through television or newspaper reportage, but through that McKenna/Deutsch miracle of quantum computing, the Internet — is that the Ancients knew a thing or two and we would be well-served to pay attention. The Thunderbolts Project, mentioned earlier in our Siderealview blog, a consortium of physicists, mythologists, astronomers, authors and plasma technicians, has now published intriguing proof that ancient mythology, cave and rock art and petroglyphs from Mesopotamia to Russia and Tibet, from North and South America to Northern Europe all described Earth’s volatile beginnings as a planet surrounded by other heavenly bodies — a little too close for comfort. That, before the Age of Reason and the vision of heavenly stability we see in our skies now — nine impeccable planets circling an orderly star — there was an Age of Chaos. And that these unruly planets gave their names to archaic deities: that the gods WERE planets; fiery dragons and thunderbolts were comets, the stuff of the stars.

Saturn/Kronos as Creator
Saturn appears regularly as the oldest god: before the Sun, Saturn ruled [Saturnia Regna = Golden Age].

Ancient belief systems from both Old World and New have often featured in our Siderealview. And, while we continue to extol the virtues of that bible of myth by Giorgio de Santillana and Herta von Dechend, Hamlet’s Mill (1969-2002), an ‘Essay investigating Origins of Human Knowledge & its Transmission through Myth’, with its huge databank of archaeoastronomical research on which world myths are founded, the Inca pantheon — the Inca celestial myth has similarities to all world cultural branches — seems to have escaped their notice.

The mythology and chronology of the Maya is currently in vogue and getting a lot of attention. But it helps to look at pre-Columbian belief generally — Inca peoples in particular — as the picture painted there is one of pure untainted primitivism: something lost in other cultures where transmission has been heavily edited, influenced or interpreted.

Roman naturalist Gaius Plinius Secundus (Pliny, AD23-79) wrote erudite work based on scientific observation:
“Heavenly fire is spit forth by the planet as crackling charcoal flies from a burning log.” He was speaking of ‘comet-Venus’ but he recorded interplanetary ‘thunderbolts’, in his time and in Roman history thrown by each of the three ‘upper planets’, Mars, Mercury and Saturn. He actually died during the eruption of Vesuvius, poor man.

Rome may have had its master observers whose documentation is beyond question, but such references are scanty in the Americas.

“The natives of this country say that in the beginning, before the world was created, there was one whom they called Viracocha. And he created the world dark and without the Sun, nor Moon, nor stars.”
Inca (preColumbian) creation myth

INCA EMPIRE: Quechua ‘TAWANTISUYU’
Tawantisuyu stretched from Ecuador in the north through the Andean kingdoms of Peru, west and south-central Bolivia, through northwest Argentina, Chile and southern Pacific coast; the European equivalent of a huge kingdom lying between the coast of Portugal and inland Caucasus.

Altar tablet from Coricancha temple to Viracocha in Cuzco before it was destroyed: 'gods' Sun (l), Moon (r) flank Viracocha's central gold disk with Mars, Venus and thunderbolt below

The language of Quechua survives. It straddles this last millennium, offering insight into their elusive yet strong belief in heavenly deities, rather than –as seen in vestigial effigies dedicated by the Maya to their gods– a religion dominated by statues. The only exception in worship of a planetary pantheon was their use of gold to simulate LIGHT. The Maya, on the other hand, had a fully functional ‘alphabet’ of symbols inherent in their multi-functional Tzolkin calendar and an amazing history, Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel which retold their history (and that of their ancestors, the Olmec) going back at least to 4200BC. Maya culture, while not totally continuous, has survived. The Inca belief system has not.

However, both cultures, along with all the oldest mythologies in the Old World, shared the belief that the original sky god (before the sun) was the equivalent of Greek Kronos (Father Time), Mesopotamian Shamash/Ninurta, Babylonian Sakkuth, Sumerian Anu, Etruscan Satres (from whom the Romans borrowed Saturnus) — the first planet/god who created order out of primeval chaos. This was Saturnia Regna, (trans. rule of Saturn), the ‘Golden Age’.

In the Chilam Balam, Saturn is the nameless one — known only as Oxlahun-ti-ku, (trans. the ‘Thirteen’, perhaps referring to his moons; Cuzcoan Viracocha) — one of two gods ruling the heavens. Venus was ‘born’ in 3147BC, when Longcount began. In the Inca creation legend, Viracocha is the Great God (Saturn, temple disk above), worshipped by the sun, moon and planets.

One last teaser: before we return to our preoccupation with culture, conformity and crisis. Where thunderbolts and lightning struck terror into the hearts of primitive peoples — not unlike the terror being felt in the eastern US states right now as Earth tears her hair and sheds her shackles — the power of light, plasma discharge, electricity and magnetic storm had a hold over our ancestors. They viewed the heavens as a place from where gods came to wield instruments of light not known on Earth. Similarly, light orbs (balls of light, ultrasonic/electric crackling) have been witnessed in association with crop circle formation.

So many eye-witness accounts now attest to the creation of authentic crop circles — sometimes literally in minutes — by means of hovering plasma balls of light, that their elusive nature was this year one of the serious discussions at the annual CircleChasers gathering July 27th at Alton Barnes. Perhaps the most genuine, enduring — and authenticated — footage capturing the orbs is that of Steve Alexander’s Milk Hill video (1990).

Thunderbolts, light orbs, gods in the sky. The seasonal finale seems also to signal symbolic change (N. hemisphere) from summer (Leo full moon August 13) to fall (Virgo new moon August 29) — always a deep psychological shift. It also marked Maya 5th ‘night'(of world chaos) August 18th-September 4th.

That elusive ‘signature’, shown top, next to the Jubilee crop circle harks back to several ‘dragon’ designs of earlier years. It may even be the meteorologist’s symbol for a ‘weather-feather’. But it surely connects us through age-old wisdom to ancient beasts of prophecy — dragon, serpent and crow. It now appears with intriguing regularity each season.

Jubilee plantation’s choice location may also signal reason for jubilation: transition to higher, more noble principles, unbelievably even entry into the fifth dimension.

Suspending our disbelief, we are capable of creating new miracles, events which are not part of commonplace experience. We are becoming a one-world consciousness. Together we are beginning to resonate as OneMind. The Elevator doors are open. What are we waiting for?

Vesica Piscis: Mother Earth and the Creative Force

August 7, 2011

Waylands Smithy Vesica Piscis crop circle, August 4th, 2011 -- sacred geometric co-radial circles where circumference of each shares the center of the other -- its central axis symbolizing the Cosmic Birth Canal to which, according to the Maya, all life returns in December 2012

The symbol of an ovoid –an egg– expresses the the primordial form of everything manifest, from atom to globe, from man to angel. The spheroid is with all nations the emblem of eternity and infinity —- a serpent swallowing its own tail. To realize the meaning, however, the sphere must be thought of as seen from its centre
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine

The Vesica Piscis in sacred tradition — from Kabbalist to Vedic to Zen — is considered to represent the female organ of creation. Its circular shape invokes an intertwining of feminine energies, Mother Earth’s womb, a mingling of Nature and primeval cultural reverence: it is a symbol seen in all ancient graphical traditions, from pagan Sun Wheel, Celtic cross, architectural ‘golden mean‘ to sacred windows in cathedrals, mosques, tabernacles and pagodas.

The Vesica Piscis also represented to the Maya the summer and winter solstices in any time cycle. To them the Vesica Piscis shape held the Cycle of the Ages — the Precession of the Equinoxes, less of a calculation of Time; more as a symbol of evolution of consciousness. We are experiencing this change now as we move from one World Age (Christian Age of Pisces, 0BC-AD2000) to another (‘New Age’ of Aquarius).

Its Latin meaning, lit. bladder of the fish, may seem to lessen its sacred quality to the prosaic, but it remains connected in a bodily way and in the geometric sense in all cultures — East and West.

Antediluvian Meaning
In earliest traditions, the supreme being was represented by a sphere, the symbol of a Creator with no beginning and no end, continually existing, perfectly formed and profoundly symmetrical. The addition of a second sphere represented the expansion of unity into the duality of female and male. By overlapping, both spheres — goddess and god — created a divine offspring. The Vesica Piscis with its derivatives, the Flower of Life, Tree of Life, and fundamentals of geometry, has a history of thousands of years, easily predating all major religions of the current era.

A theme running through several recent crop circle seasons — most striking from 2007 on — has been the suggestion by the ‘Circlemakers’ that we return to the wisdom of our roots: roots in our native Earth, roots of our tradition, our sacred beginnings. Since it is presently clear to almost anyone in the Western World that in pursuing our headlong drive for power, riches and exploitation over balance, human warmth and respect for the earth, we have gone seriously awry. It might seem that our combined consciousness — that deep level of awareness we share beneath the cultural façade; what Terence McKenna called Humanity’s Oversoul — has chosen to ‘wake us up’ by bringing us (those genuine electromagnetically-produced) crop circles each year, to educate us and lead us gently towards a more loving future.

Perhaps, therefore, we should not be surprised by the ingenuity and wry sense of humor of the Circlemakers.

For instance, this year in May — while we were all looking forward rather than looking at the miracles of the season — a quiet little ring appeared in green barley at East Kennet. It lay within one field’s breadth (roughly 10 acres) of one of Wiltshire’s most ancient shrines — the Neolithic tomb (long barrow) of West Kennet. Several 5,000-year old monuments lie — inter-visible — in this densely-built Neolithic landscape within two miles of Avebury’s Great Stone Circles.

Stonehenge and its magical meridian (51ºN) aside, the modern British are not particularly drawn to ancient shrines for their sacred quality, but crop circles — appearing within the same landscape and overlying the same limestone aquifer that produces measurable electromagnetic resonance (likened to human meditational alpha waves) — have been drawing them in. Nobody who has spent time in a pristine formation can deny it holds an ‘atmosphere’, an energy which can be uplifting, almost surreal. There is a growing body of evidence that crop circles are indeed produced through the medium of light and sound.

When the East Kennet circle first appeared, Stuart Dike, one of the long-time stalwarts of CropCircleConnector, crop circle ‘bible’, said at the time:

East Kennet crop design, May 17th, was ringed by extra circles June 22. If seen as the 'negative', it acquired a mirror-image 'positive' at West Kennet, July 25th 2011,
photo Olivier Morel

It certainly takes me back to over twenty years ago, from the 1990 days in Wiltshire. This is what we were all used to seeing back then, very simple designs, with a sense of excitement of what they could become. It’s a great indication that the earlier designs are very much part of what’s occurring today: the precursor of what was to be an evolutionary road in geometry and complexity. Perhaps the phenomenon is telling us not to ignore the purity of what was occurring at the very beginning.

Little did we know that the Circlemakers had further plans for that small field. One month later, during excitement of solstice and a profusion of appearances (2 at Stonehenge + 4 more in the vicinity over a 2-day period), nobody seemed to notice that East Kennet had acquired three concentric rings (June 22).

West Kennet Longbarrow, July 25th 'mirror image' of East Kennet phases 1 & 2, photo courtesy Bert Janssen

Then exactly a month after that, on July 22, attention focused on the intricate and superb ‘spider-web’ headdress formation which appeared in an adjoining field (East Kennet-2). There followed in quick succession two exceptionally graphic ‘suggestive’ crop designs at Roundway (1 & 2, July 23 & 25) –appearing to advocate humanity’s opening its third eye, releasing the body’s natural happiness hormone, melatonin— so, once again a little mirror appearance the same day — at West Kennet Long Barrow itself this time, next to the passage grave — seemed less than significant.

Working behind the scenes are a multitude of local altruistic researchers (CCC, above, is one of many). Their common bond is that they believe that ‘genuine’ crop circles are phenomena somehow produced through an electromagnetic or dimensional medium, either by light, sound or other variants within that vast spectrum. Sometimes, when local conditions are just right, a substance colloquially known as ‘angel hair’ (documented as being found after UFO sightings) has been deposited and can be measured, if collected within the first few hours after a formation has been laid down. Researchers in this field include the Massachusetts-based BLT, the British Harmony Blue group, and the CircularSite in the Netherlands,. They are consequently disappointed and nonplussed by world media efforts to persevere in ‘replicating’ crop circles, as has been tried on several occasions. Research on the dimensional/spiritual nature of real crop circles continues. On the morning the West Kennet circle motif appeared, the HarmonyBlue team found angel hair in the West Kennet formation (‘spiderweb’ photo, above).

There is even the suggestion — by the much more charismatic ‘spider-web’ crop appearance at East Kennet on July 22 — that the Circlemakers were telling them where to look!

Sacred geometry

The Vesica Piscis is the root principle in sacred geometry, interlocking circles which share radii, cosmically and intrinsically entwined. In precise mathematical measurement, where the circumference of each shares the center of the other, the ratio between the width of the vesica piscis to its height is the square root of 3, or approximately 1.7320508…

A mathematical sub-note: if straight lines are drawn between the centers of both circles with each other and with the two points where their circumferences intersect, two equilateral triangles can be formed, joining along an edge.

Eye of consciousness, complete with eyelashes! Crop circle at Silbury Hill, Avebury August 2, 2011

Archimedes of Syracuse, 287-212BC, Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor and astronomer, in his On the Measurement of the Circle, used these ratios:

In Christian tradition this sacred number –153– appears miraculously in the Gospel of John [21:11] as the number of fishes which Jesus of Nazareth caused to be manifested in the Feeding of the Multitude story. Since all Judaic written (Biblical) tradition centered on sacred number, numerological sequence and coded word combinations/number of letters used, this coincidence has a deeper meaning. The Fish — Lat. Piscis — is well-known as the secret symbol used by the Early Christians in Rome. By enumerating the total catch on the Sea of Gallilee, specific use of that sacred geometric ratio would have had meaning to early followers, aware of the significance of number.

Interlocking circles, Water & the Sacred Feminine: Vesica Piscis's sacred shape which seals the cover of the Sacred Chalice Well at Glastonbury, Somerset

Probably the best known example in England of the Vesica Piscis is the design on the wellcover of the Sacred Chalice Well at Glastonbury. While we are now culturally ignorant of number, this design resonates with us on a subliminal level (internal balance) and, seen there in a New Age context, represents the Universal symbol of the Feminine, Mother Earth, in contrast with the nearby masculine emblem of Glastonbury Tor. The Glastonbury example on the lid of the Chalice well — like the crop circle at Wayland’s Smithy (top) — contains the meridian line that runs through the centers of both circles.

Even though this archaic symbolism may not seem relevant to some after so many aeons of time, it is not unrealistic to suppose that our cultural unconscious, even blurred and insensitized by modern inconsequential minutiae in massive overdose, does at some deep level sense peace, harmony and beauty when we behold this sacred design.

Egyptian Celestial and Sacred Measure

We owe the Egyptians for the application of Sacred Geometry on the surface of the Earth.

Cosmic serpent-of-Life returning to its birth canal at the center of the Galaxy in 2012 -- West Woodhay Down, Inkpen crop circle July 29th, arrived as a prelude to the August 4th glyph (top), the Cosmic birth canal itself

Geo-metry means ‘measure of the earth’. In ancient Egypt, from which Greece and eventually the West inherited the study, the Nile would flood its banks each year, obliterating orderly demarcation of plot and farm areas. This annual inundation symbolized to the Egyptian the cyclic return of primal watery chaos, and when the waters receded the work began of redefining and re-establishing boundaries. The temple astronomer might announce that celestial configurations had changed so the orientation or location of a temple had to be adjusted. It was seen as regaining law and order, dominion over the earth. The laying of squares upon the earth had, for the Egyptian, a metaphysical as well as a physical and social dimension. This activity of measuring the earth – ‘geo-meter’- became the basis for a science of natural law embodied in the archetypal forms of circle, triangle and square.

Plato at his Academia required the study of mathematics as a prerequisite for philosophia, a term signifying “the love of wisdom” and “to lift the soul to truth.” To him, symbolic mathematics provided a map of our own inner psychological and sacred spiritual structure. Through the study of recurring harmonious patterns inherent in mathematics, music, and nature, ancient mathematical philosophers recognized that consistent correspondences occur inside the human mind and simultaneously throughout the universe.

Sacred geometric shapes: circle, triangle, square

This Zen calligraphic drawing shows Creation through the simple progression from the unity of the circle, through the triangle, to the manifest form of the square.

The circle –one– and the vesica piscis –two– were considered by ancient mathematical philosophers to be the parents of Number. Their firstborn, the triangle –three– was the ‘first’ and eldest number. Its geometric expression, the equilateral triangle, is the initial shape to emerge through the portal of the vesica piscis, the First of the Many. The square –four– was the second born.

Alpha and Omega
Mathematics and sacred geometry can take us beyond our ordinary limits to cosmic depths.

Furze or Morgan Hill, Bishops Cannings, August 6th dimensional progression on the Vesica Piscis: two cosmic parents produce a dimensional child

Man –from the Sanskrit root manas, meaning ‘Mind’, Consciousness, is a creature who can reflect upon himself. Man is not a mere constituent part –a cog– in this Universal Cycle, but he is both the final complete product of evolution and the original seed potential out of which the Universe germinated. The Alpha as well as the Omega. Both the seed and the tree: the tree of the universe is the actualization of the seed potential, which is Cosmic Man.

The World Tree of the Maya now begins to make sense. Mayan cosmology saw the Rift in the Milky Way as the the female birth canal (Yoni, Vesica Piscis) to which the Serpent of Life returns in December 2012.

Spiraling towards Source

CCC denizen Dike may have had a premonition when he said (above) that ‘the (CC) phenomenon is telling us not to ignore the purity of what was occurring at the very beginning’. Without realizing it, he may have been referring to the very beginning of Time. As we spiral onwards through the Galaxy towards our 2012 rendezvous with that primeval birth canal, we are indeed completing a cycle, coming to our ending, but also returning to our beginning.

Don’t Go Back to Sleep

Puerta de Hayu Marca-- Gate of the Gods-- in the Stone Forest, Puno, Titicaca, Peru

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.
Don’t go back to sleep, Rumi (1207-1273)

July is High Summer. Time to appreciate earthly gifts. This is brought into sharp focus if one has been through the wringer, as the human race has since early March this year.

So far 2011 has been no ordinary year. There have been revelations and revealings in the way Society conducts business and the Earth has moved for many — literally and metaphorically. Heads of world organizations have rolled and words like ‘transparency’ and ‘integrity’ have surfaced in political speeches and media news. Earth tremors, flash floods, famine and raging wildfires have contributed to more human anguish, but world charitable associations announce greater generosity of giving than ever before.

Earlier, in the June crop circles, designs seemed to indicate a new twist to the cosmic tale — directing devotees to look heavenward — with planetary alignments reflected in the corn, along with solstitial renderings of meandering comets and other cosmic bodies, inner solar system orbits and a succession of surprise visitors from the void.

Crop circle at Allington (2), also June 28th, repeats a solar-orbiting theme

Two crop circles at Allington Devizes appeared to react to human intervention. After the first sun motif (Allington [1], above, June 28) was unceremoniously cut, another appeared in a neighboring field that same afternoon — at Allington [2], left.

Circlemakers are nothing if not persistent.

These celestial motifs served to bring to the notice of the less-observant croppie that much is changing in our Universe, with a lot of it being witnessed in our skies in this and coming months.

2010 launch: space shuttle Endeavor from Cape Canaveral to 185 miles, prolonged photo exposure by James Vernacotola

Even the less-aware city-dweller realized (via tv/internet) that there is more to last Friday’s final launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis than dollars. Atlantis docked last night at the International Space Station. ISS is becoming a reality: a means of global cooperation and understanding. It also signals our level of commitment to stepping off into Space.

Hubble images, the process of measuring comets, scanning distant stars, monitoring our own Sun — 3D and 360º — and other such esoteric descriptive metaphors have entered the language.

Instead of ‘street-wise’, we are becoming star-wise.

Then July changed the tune.

At Honey Street, a little south of the Wiltshire crop circle “hub”, Alton Barnes, a small crop glyph — like a body launching into orbit — had materialized overnight in a field outside the Barge Inn on June 26th. One week later, two more designs appeared: an apparently unfinished ‘sword’ motif in the same field; and another — coded script between two circular terminals of exquisitely-laid wheat — 100 yards south of the second formation. See my immediately previous blog and Youngbloodblog for details.

Honey Street July 4th unfinished Swords message: potential yet to be fulfilled

Swords, in Tarot interpretation, rule the unseen realm of air. Their symbolism deals with matters of the intangible: thought and mind. Many scholars also consider Swords to represent challenges or difficulties. But challenges which will be overcome — sliced through with scimitar-like precision.

Just as many schools of thought would recognize a challenge as an opportunity, Tarot Swords represent a window into the realm of intangibles — the imagination. Looking at the ‘unfinished’ crop circle at Honey Street laid out overnight July 4th, (Four of Swords), the Tarot interpretation suggests: ‘the card of solitude and the need to experience time apart from others to gather one’s thoughts and feelings before entering the fray.’ The calm before the storm.

There has certainly been a lot of fray. And it seems there will be more.

On the surface, the suit of Swords represents:

Five of Swords: formation completed July 6th; achievement, Phoenix-like at the tip of its touch

The Mind
Perception
Observation
Self-Image
Ego

Its often starkly-depicted imagery is used in some Tarot designs to indicate the intense importance of the Mind. Do not mess with the realm of Mind: it is serious business. Do not approach Mind lightly. It is one of the most powerful, incredible devices in the Universe.

In Tarot as well as in real life, the mind, although a wondrous tool if used rightly, can also hold potential for sinister mutilation of self and others.

Two days later, the Four of Swords formation was ‘completed’: became Five.

Five of Swords signifies something overwhelmingly more exposed: Open dishonor, sacrificing integrity in the face of public scrutiny and acting in self-interest, indulging in power-plays; experiencing defeat by some of the greatest challenges we face in this highly-competitive world.

It is not insignificant that over the July 4th weekend world attention was focused (in the US) on the commemoration of a 1776 event which ousted the British and (in Britain) on the scandal of international business dealings of a newspaper empire which were less than ethical and had American investors exiting in droves.

Milk Hill Celtic knot phase two July 8th, 2011: the infinite triangle; without beginning or end

By contrast, the following weekend, after the appearance of a double-phase (July 6th and 8th) Celtic Triskele at favored Milk Hill itself — a Trinity knot symbolizes perpetuity and faith in the infinite: a celebration of endless cycles of time, human ingenuity and beauty– world attention was focused on Prince William and Kate. Darlings of world media, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge completed a whirlwind tour of Canada, and arrived in southern California to be greeted by a stunned Hollywood (not easily stunned), going on to star as royal guests at a massive charity BAFTA black-tie Saturday night event on July 9th. The breezy and beautiful young couple’s arrival in the City of the Angels provided an exercise in human leveling: allowing the world to see glitz and glamor through a different set of eyes.

Triskele: Celtic Trinity knot symbolizing the power of the feminine, returning to balance after extreme acts in an opposite direction

Milk Hill is not only the world’s most desirable (crop-circle-decorated, eco-friendly) location, but it happens to be the highest point in Wiltshire, at 968ft. That makes it almost a mountain! Its undulating outline is also home to the Alton Barnes White Horse (c. 1812) carved in chalk and lovingly maintained by the Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group.

During one single intervening week — between crop circle phases 1 & 2 Honey Street Swords Suite (July 4 & 6) and 1 & 2 Milk Hill Trinity Knot (July 6 & 8), a whole world changed.

Suddenly, instead of a sound-asleep Great British news public reading tabloid media which pandered to its so-called ‘hunger for grime and crime’, ethics, dignity and a sense of honorable balance stepped on to the stage and wiped one of the main players off the boards. Integrity followed as multi-million dollar advertizing contracts were cancelled with its media umbrella ownership, and some of earth’s Meek (the divine feminine; believers in truth, kindness and gentle ways) felt a little giddy as they came up for air in a new atmosphere.

The White Horse of Milk Hill might well be seen as the milk white charger bearing the archetypal knight-in-shining-armor to the rescue of Humanity. Or, in Electric-Universe-speak:

The Milk-white Avenging Angel —Plasma Universe-style — bringing a message from the Milky Way

The Celtic gods –alongside archetypes from other ancient cultures– were smiling on the human race for a brief glimpse in time and sending their support in crop circle language for their avid interpreters to spread the word.

The Peruvian Portal
The opening image of this blog post features an enigmatic doorway carved into volcanic rock in the Stone Forest — a unique area of petrified shapes: people, spirits, gods, cities in stone — 35km from Puno, Peru. The local people [los Indios], descendants of the Inca, believe it to be a star portal or stargate through which one may travel — at certain times — to experience immortality. The doorway measures precisely seven metres high and seven metres wide, with a central aperture in the lower doorway just 2m high. In 1996 a local mountain guide rediscovered the doorway after it had been lost to modern eyes for 1500 years. He was overcome by its presence. He said: “It was like a revelation from God…”

Golden disc: key of the gods of the Seven Rays -- opens the Peruvian portal

“I have dreamed of such a construction repeatedly over the years, but in the dream the path to the door was paved with pink marble, and with pink marble statues lining either side of the path. In the dream, I also saw that the smaller door was open and there was a brilliant blue light coming from what looked like a shimmering tunnel within.”
Jose Luis Delgado Mamani

Inca legend describes it as the ‘gateway to the Land of the gods’ and that their greatest heroes in earliest times were chosen to walk through the portal to join their gods in a life of immortality. That, when the Spanish conquistadores arrived and began looting the Inca empire, Aramu Muru—also written Amaru Meru—a shaman/priest of the Incan temple of the Seven Rays, secretly escaped with the sacred Inca golden disc — the ‘Key of the Gods of the Seven Rays’ — and hid in the mountains of Hayu Marca. When he came upon the Portal, watched by its sacred shaman-protectors, he offered them the Key. The golden disc opened the portal for him to walk through.

There is a small disc-shaped aperture at the side of the human-scale opening which is said to be where the key might be placed if it is ever rediscovered. The Inca portal legend concludes with the prophecy that the stargate will one day open to ‘many times larger than its actual size… and allow the gods to return in their “sun ships”…’

Inca sun ships… Wiltshire crop circles calling on the sacred imagery of the Celts, avenging swords, the essence of Tarot divination, suggesting the power of the Mind and Imagination…

We are capable of dreaming our own future… if we choose to wake up, invoke mastery, practise self-discipline, and ask help from Nature — the gentle energy of Mother Earth. She is, after all, our genetic archetype: the divine Feminine in all her guises, our parent in the bewildering vastness of the Cosmos.

“…(if we sell you our land), you must keep it apart and sacred, as a place where Man can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow flowers. The earth is our Mother. What befalls the Earth befalls all the sons of the earth”
Chief Seattle to the American Government, 1854

This euphoric glimpse into Dreamtime may not last. The bad guys might still find other devious ways to control the populace… But for a few brief days in early July, we woke up. There was a buzz on the internet, on Twitter and on Facebook, that maybe there is a Heaven after all. And… more encouraging…that maybe we’re still capable — in our Imagination’s Dreamtime — of getting there.

The Wesak Effect: Changing Human Consciousness

May 17, 2011

Mind is the Matrix of all Matter
Max Planck

Wesak is the most important date in the Buddhist calendar — regardless of where it is held in Indian, Chinese, Zen, Tibetan, Indonesian, Nepalese, Mahayana or Western practices.

HH Dalai Lama participates in the Newark Peace Education Summit in New Jersey during Wesak week 2011

Celebrated by one-third of the world’s population during the week of the full moon in May, it marks the birth of the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama, c. 563BC) and, for some Buddhists, his enlightenment (Nirvana) and his death. In Burma and Thailand, for instance, it is celebrated with special lanterns made of paper and wood; candles are burned continuously and houses are cleaned, decorated and made new with much joyful music and the sound of bells. In Laos it is known as the Feast of the Lanterns. In India, it is Vesak Day, or Buddha Purnima.

Caged birds released on Wesak: spiritual symbolism and vegetarian practice

There is a long tradition of releasing caged birds on Wesak, signifying the freeing of the soul from the body cage on reaching enlightenment — Nirvana. Many (strict) Buddhists are vegetarians, but those who are not, often pay butchers to release animals otherwise scheduled for human consumption. On this auspicious day, others forgo eating meat. Water ceremonies include bathing the Buddha’s shoulders to remind devotees to purify the mind from greed, hatred and ignorance.

Wesak is a festival we might all benefit from sharing — or at least understanding its roots. In contrast with many world religions, Buddhism is unique for its focus on personal spiritual development and striving for deep insight into the true nature of life, through the practice of morality, meditation and awareness of one’s own accessible inner wisdom.

Buddhists believe nothing is permanent: that change is always possible.

May we dedicate all positive words to the enlightenment of all sentient beings in six realms of cyclic existence

Buddhist prayer

Buddha literally means ‘one who is awake’ and has become enlightened. It is a term that denotes a person who has attained the supreme wisdom and compassion that Enlightenment brings.

The Wesak festival is unique in world religions in that it is a present-time cosmological event and not just one that commemorates a past spiritual happening–as do most holy days.

In Buddhist tradition, Wesak is a five-day festival: two days of preparation, both mental and physical; the day of the Wesak full moon itself, (this year, Tuesday 17th May) and two days after for meditation, direction of energy for good, for self-healing, and for planetary vision.

Ideally, one should approach Wesak week with discipline, clearing the mind beforehand, eliminating from our consciousness all negativity — including the influence of negative people — so that our mind and spirit are opened and ready to receive the forces of Light (love).

If someone negative tries to complicate your life, turn and walk away from them” Caroline Myss

In the western version of the tradition, the day of the Wesak full moon is known as the Day of Safeguarding.

On the full moon of May, with the rising of the morning star, Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha, the enlightened one

While Siddhartha’s enlightenment happened over 2500 years ago, it is interesting to note that this year (2011) the ‘morning star’, Venus, is not only recapturing brilliance celebrated in that age-old Buddhist proclamation, but also — on May 11th — approached within one-half-degree of fellow morning planet Jupiter, alongside Mercury and Mars in the pre-dawn eastern sky. This Jupiter-Venus-conjunction is the same configuration as that heralded in 6BC as the brilliant ‘Star in the East’ which signaled the birth of Christ.

So Venus and Jupiter, among others, are presently contributing as planetary pointers to this year’s Wesak week. Other celestial phenomena are in store for the rest of 2011 and 2012.

“On the Day of Safeguarding (May 17th) itself, we the human race should try to receive, contain and hold as much of that great spiritual light, (energy, love) as we possibly can within our bodies as a kind of intelligent network of conscious ‘Mind’ for the planet — as her brain, so to speak.” Wesak Souled-Out Spiritual Hierarchy.

In the West, this year’s festival has primary focus on raising planetary awareness: a rising tide of human Unity Consciousness, which has been a consistent feature of this blog and is becoming the focus of much attention in the runup to 2012. The western hub of Wesak ceremonies, festivities and deep religious rededication is Mount Shasta, Siskyou County, California.

Earth's energy grid, portals and Chakras on the electromagnetic network

In the language of Earth-Gaia Medicine, the Earth, as a sentient being, has energy chakras, one on each continent, just as the human body has energy centers. Shasta is believed to hold the energetic focus for Mother Earth’s root or base chakra.

Her other chakra points are:
Island of the Sun, Lake Titicaca: Sacral second Chakra
Uluru, Ayer’s Rock, Australia: Solar plexus third Chakra
Glastonbury, Somerset: Heart fourth Chakra
Great Pyramid, Giza: Throat fifth Chakra
No fixed location for sixth, Third Eye Chakra
Mt. Kailash, Tibet: Crown 7th Chakra and axis mundi, peak of the world axis.

’Sixties Revolution
California is known for its leading-edge ethos begun in the 1960s and ’70s of multi-discipline spiritual thought, an EarthFirst lifestyle and as home to many New Age groups. Hermann Hesse’s ‘Siddhartha‘ was virtually ‘required reading’ during the spiritual revolution of the ’sixties in a State which became a honeypot for spiritual entrepreneurs, gurus and devout followers of a New Age way of life. While that ‘off-the-grid’ lifestyle continues a presence in the State, it has become — like other spiritual practices — subsumed by the great unwieldy machine of human progress, population growth, and the media/internet/communications revolution.

Among a plethora of New Age spiritual frontrunners from that era, however, one guru stands tall above the rest — Ram Dass. As (former) Dr Richard Alpert, b.1931, he was the renowned Harvard professor whose experimental psych lab –alongside Prof. Timothy Leary and his (then) graduate student Dr. Ralph Metzner, founder of the Green Earth Foundation— used mind-altering techniques in the study of the transformation of human consciousness. They co-authored the volume ‘The Psychedelic Experience‘: a Manual based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead and dedicated to Aldous Huxley. In his subsequent conversion and becoming a messenger for ‘American Buddhism’, Ram Dass was seen not only as a genuine seeker, practitioner and proponent of the simple spiritual lifestyle, but his consistency and practice of personal liberation have affected many lives.

My life is my message” Baba Ram Dass, 1992

Author of the seminal spiritual bible of the time, ‘Be Here Now‘, 1971, he practised the art of self-discipline in maintaining one’s own unique balance and wisdom, in allowing self-liberation, and the ‘voice of the Divine’ to come through into daily life.

Ram Dass suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in 1997 which paralyzed his right side. It has taken him over a decade to recover all function, but he is back on the lecture-appearance circuit, his message stronger than ever. Before the stroke, he finally met and was interviewed by contemporary and fellow research/occult scientist, Terence McKenna (video conversation above). While they had taken divergent life paths — McKenna researching the biological immediacy of shamanic experience and altered states of consciousness; Ram Dass eschewing mind experimentation for spiritual ritual and meditative practice — they discovered shared truth and remarkable similarities in their need to question accepted authority and discover ‘one’s own reality’: McKenna’s ‘felt presence of direct experience’. The video series is unprecedented in its honesty and their familiarity with each other, because while they shared a youthful background of the counter-culture, this was their first encounter as seniors in the consciousness field. In that sense, the video interviews (on YouTube) are unique, unrepeated. McKenna died in 2000 of brain cancer.

Terence McKenna, author of 'Food of the Gods,' before he died in 2000

McKenna believed human evolution and particularly language development were triggered by apes eating hallucinogenic plants after their descent from the trees; that either Man must return to Nature before she explodes, or tout de suite launch some rocket ships to the stars. Ram Dass approaches humanity as a concept seen from the transcendental realm of Godhead, as viewed through the Third Dimension. Both men of ideas have lived long enough to be able to dissolve ego in an unprecedented open exchange. But while the duo (in their video conversation) approach the subject from apparently opposite sides, they both bring light to their shared belief in autonomous, intuitive ‘knowing’, as opposed to acceptance of concepts fostered by fear-mongered dogma of state and government attitudes.

They both believe in ‘Mind’, as the engineer of reality, consciousness.

“The Net,” says McKenna, “is an ‘oracle’ fostering an unprecedented dialogue between human beings and the sum total of human knowledge.” He believes that out of computer graphics will emerge a new form of human communication. “We are heading for a world made out of Mind.”

“Go beyond the ‘isms’ and tell me what you really think we’ll find,” says Ram Dass. While he believes in intuitive links, he concedes the need for virtual/real communication.

Dass believes in the transcendental awareness brought about by communion with one’s higher self, the Divine. It hinges on the presently-growing impetus of global consciousness. McKenna had first-hand knowledge of South American Indians who experienced the Collective Unconscious as an immediate, shamanic, reality; not just as an intellectual construct.

As our society weaves itself ever-more deeply into this colossal thinking machine, McKenna believes it may somehow be able to replicate those shaman Indians’ collective knowing. He answers:

“We’re finding a world made out of Mind instead of ‘stuff’. Mind itself is being pulled taut. We are being given that transcendental object at the End of Time”.

“So what is this transcendental object at the End of Time?” asks Dass.

“A material made from hologramatic disk: part bio, part machine, part think tank, part Mind.”

Over one million Buddhists are meditating right now, pooling consciousness. Critical mass requires only one half of one percent of the population to be ‘vibrating’ at a higher frequency for cohesion/enlightenment/ascension to occur.

This Wesak festival might be the very one which decides the fate of the Earth: the one which changes global consciousness and takes it one step farther up the ladder to the stars.
